BigEFly really needs that walloping of Tennessee yesterday after the Gonzaga and Purdue games.  I told my wife Purdue was going to be a challenge because they pass the ball so well and play defense almost as well as my Cougars.   Duke will be a tough test but I know the kids are going to bring a championship to Kelvin.   Why would anyone watch the NBA?

Houston forward JoJo Tugler really needs to go to the UH football team and ask to practice at TE.  He’s 6’8” and 230 pounds but the dude has such long arms, a 7’6” wingspan.

That doesn’t make him a bust or not a useful player, but you certainly would hope for more than a 1- and sometimes two-down player. He simply doesn’t play enough to be considered a hit at his draft slot. And he doesn’t play enough to have earned the fifth-year option either. Maybe that changes next season.

I look at his numbers and I look at someone like say Harrison Phillips, over his rookie contract Phillips averaged 30 % of snaps, Davis at the moment sits at around 34%, Harrison had 7 tackles for loss and 13 QB hits in 4 years, Davis currently has 6 TFL and 6 QB Hits in 3 years, Davis has 1 more sack over his 3 years, Phillips has more tackles. I should point out that Phillips missed all but three games of his second year due to an ACL, so when I say 4 years numbers it was really 3 and a bit.

Phillips second contract in 2021 was for $6.5mill APY and his extension to that he signed last year was for $7.5million APY, and that was after playing ~63% of snaps and having as many QB hits a year for each of those years as Davis has for his career so far.

I would give Davis a clear target for conditioning and snap count at the beginning of the year, if he kicks on, then by all means work out an extension for him, but he'd have to take a biiiig leap in production terms to be worth near $11million per.

There are two real estate brokers both of whom sold the same number of houses during the year. The actual number of sales is inconsequential, but whatever their volume was/is, is equivalent to in your example.  The sales of the first real estate broker had an average sale price of $470,000 per house.  The second sales agent had an average sale price per house of $1 million. Those differences in sale price equate to the effectiveness of the player on the field, or as @ToastJenkinscalled it "the impact” of the player on the field. So here is my question to you, "Should those two real estate agents be paid the same amount?”

Arguments have made on both sides pro and con.  All I know is that when asked Fangio unequivocally said NT was the most important position in his defense.  Basically, he said, if you don't have one, it doesn't work 🤷‍♂️
