We have scrutinized Scourton in here today, and seen plenty of the Enigmas video posted. Heres a different one with Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks talking about the polarity of a few guys including Ezeiruaku.

Hearing a lot of rumblings about Howie's plans. He may trade up, or down as he likes to be active. But if someone falls to him at 32 he likes, he could stay put and make the selection at #32.

And, some more Scourton talk from those guys

@VaBeach_Eagle I can not edit this post.

6ers played a tight one most of the game, but theyve fallen down by almost 20 late. They are about to lock in the 5th odds for the lottery. Sole possession.

Couldnt edit this post so saying it here.

I posted earlier about an article from the Texas A&M pro day with quotes from Scourton that didnt impress me.

Jeremiah says teams that have met with him (and JT from OSU) say they are great kids. Also said that he was lighter at his pro day and ran around really well, like when he was productive at Purdue.

So you have a 20 year old pass rushing prospect, who is back to his productive playing weight, and teams say is a great kid meeting with the eagles for 2 days now. Knowing all of that about him, and comparing to other names that have visited so far, it really feels like he would be the leader in the clubhouse at this point.

Probably for the rest of the century.

Update:  I told schmoopie about this exchange. Her response?

”Oh, you mean that side effect that affects the skin of the perineum. It’s horrifying, your taint blows up”

Degloving or the other thing? Degloving is like it sounds, taking a glove off but instead it’s skin and flesh.

I also have had this problem the last week or so. If you post something embedded but then try to edit commentary after the fact, you get the error message about timing or being moved.

Not a big deal to me, just something I noticed.

Edit: Also saw this on google. Thought it was kinda weird but guess you guys don’t have much to do with it

I tend to agree with you about Steen. To me he's a JAG, well coached but still a JAG. As @mattwillwould say, he's got more junk in his trunk than Driscoll so he's harder to move but his movements are, to me, sluggish. Were the Eagles to draft Savaiinaea, I think he would beat out Steen in short order. Steen has value as a swing backup but I'm not happy with him starting.

Steen is entering his third year, about the time when Seumalo went from being awful to being decent.  Any chance we see a similar move by Steen?  He has, after all been learning to play guard.  When Dickerson got inserted in his rookie year compared to his third year are night and day different, and he had played IOL before.   It’s not like Becton was an All Pro last year.

I can't wait for the eventual Eagles-Chiefs 3rd Super Bowl.  Might not happen this year but it will happen within the next 2-3 years.

Where will Johnny Wilson line up on the OL in that game.

The Chiefs have been the AFC team at SB in recent seasons.  After the last defeat by our guys, soundly I might add, their run for the big dance may be closing, partly their core players are getting old and declining.  The allure of invincibility may be diminished.  It would open the opportunity for other AFC teams who have been knocking at the door for years.  On the other hand, our team is on the raise and could be at the SB for seasons to come.

Thank you HE.

@HazletonEagle

Do you think all of these CBs are off the board due to age?

Tuned in to the last two minutes of Arlington-Birmingham UFL game.

That should be the punchline.

Down 9-3, Birmingham goes for it on 4th down, and Matt Corral throws an INT. Should be ballgame. But in UFL, all plays under 5 mins are subject to review. Review shows Birmingham OL committed a false start. Procedural penalty negates the INT and 4th down is replayed. Birmingham converts and goes on to win 10-9.

Hot garbage that UFL.

If it's in 3 years then hopefully he will.

They still have the best HC, QB and DC in the AFC.

Well, they supposedly met with Amos, so no. But the other CBs they have met with- Jaylin Smith 21, and Jacob Parrish 21, and Maxwell Hairston 21.

I get the sense that theyve tried to keep their picks really young, and now that youve made me look some names up, it holds up fairly well.

Itd be more telling to look up their picks the last 2 years or so but again, Im too lazy to do that. Im just going on a hunch.

Furthermore, Scourton is only 20 years old and theyre showing a ton of interest there.

I hate not being able to edit posts....

It used to be a big deal if a prospect was older. It was fairly rare. Now after COVID its become very common. But I dont think its changed the eagles approach to say, well the class is full of these guys so I guess we are just going to have to pick some of them.

I think the eagles are still looking to select younger rookies.

I remembered an awesome resource to do this Howie may be an ageist research.

For this year's draft you can go here, https://jfosterfilm.shinyapps.io/25draft/ and sort by age in the age column. You can find maybe every player we have a reported visit with in the below 23 category. You also have 153 players total in that category which includes a ton of blog favorite names projected in various rounds.

Im not saying the eagles are sticking perfectly to this and that those will be their 153 draftable graded guys. But, we do know that out of hundreds and hundreds of players available, teams only have, well.... less than 150 draftable grades on players.

If the eagles were just going off of that list of 153, they can still end up with a hell of a draft class. And from the looks of it based on reported visits, theyll be picking mostly guys out of that list.

To look at last years draft ages you can actually sort this one by team, and see their age in the age column. https://jfosterfilm.shinyapps.io/Test/

The way I have it sorted, our guys start on page 2 which is UDFAs and late round picks. And our high picks are at the top of page 3.

image.thumb.png.5f2b0db3d63152af9c297adcdbef38ef.png

Our highest picks were all under 23 years old. Except damn Jalyx Hunt who was barely at that threshold. 23.1

We didnt pick anyone over 23 until pick 172 which was Trevor Keegan.

2 out of the 3 picks that were over age 23 were OL, where it makes sense to look for someone who already has some grown man strength.

Is it the end all be all? No.

Is it being weighted heavily? It appears to be.

Yeah, it's been an issue that I've been working on. The upgrade should happen soon and I'm hoping that will take care of that.
