Agreed, that was where the old conversations were, but I don’t remember them being any livelier or informative than this year’s.

Lots of mutual sharing going on here. The video pieces are much better and more numerous now, which makes sharing much easier.

The resources are more widely available. The NCAA game is less enjoyable.

Isn’t Hancock a Safety?

No, he’s a corner with a lot of nickel experience but boundary size. Great athlete. Has some similarities with DeJean, but I’d say while DeJean can play both outside and inside but is best inside, Hancock can play both but is better outside.

We all know this is a big fat lie

Going up against Lane or Mailata... I like our chances 🤷‍♂️

33 is a pretty valuable pick. I wouldn't be shocked if he turned that into even more. My money is on him going the other way, though.

I think it’s going to be opportunistic.

If he gets #33 and #94 for #32, he has all the time from the end of Day One to the beginning of Day Two to field offers. The actual pick by Cleveland at #32 will be known and any team looking to jump up for a favorite player will have plenty of time to bend Howie’s ear. Similarly, as the end of Day Two rolls around, holding #94 and #96 will be a magnet for Howie receiving calls. For example the Eagles could send #94 and #168 to Tennessee for #103 and #120 … or #94 and #168 to Jacksonville for #107 #126 #182 and #221. #182 could be Zah Frazier and #221 could be Jaydon Blue.

The Browns would do that, just to get year 5? They pick 33 and would get the QB they want because the Eagles aren't drafting one. What would they offer to get a 5th year but also have to pay a rookie rnd 1 instead of rnd 2 salary? It's a naive question but I don't see them giving much for it. The Giants, on the other hand, if there is a QB on the board and they want to jump over the Browns, that's some good leverage.

People thinking the Browns will take a QB could prompt them to jump Browns to us at 32. Works for us

Teams don’t have to just worry about the team that owns the draft pick but rather the teams that might jump them. So it could be the gints, Browns and Saints getting in a bidding fight. That would be awesome for the Birds.

Thanks. The ESPN simulator has him as a CB and ranked as the 241st player on their Big Board.

Is the following close to your assessment of him? "Hancock has sufficient length and wrap-up ability as a tackler but lacks appeal with coverage instincts to anticipate breaks and proactively claim space to play across the face of receivers. He’s got growth potential to lean on, and his pro day numbers boast impressive athleticism that can be further tapped into.”

That's why I'm so curious about where teams value guys like Milroe at.

Ward is certainly off the board. I can see New Orleans, Pittsburgh, etc. looking at Bo Nix last year and thinking Jaxson Dart is the next in line. Sanders into the mid-20's is almost a lock to have someone jump up for him.

The loser in that scenario is almost destined to be on the phone with Howie - Raiders if they pass at 6, Saints if they pass at 9, whoever loses in the Browns/Giants race to get back into the first - one of them is going to lose out.

I agree wholeheartedly that the NCAA game is less enjoyable at the FBS level, but at my beloved FCS level it isn’t very much changed.

Bill Bradley.

Ben Allbright has them taking Shemar Stewart. He's one of the guys I'm totally out on. I don't like guys who don't produce.

Nolan Smith didn't have a lot of production in college. I don't know much about Stewart, is that a similar situation?

For most of us, the draft will never change. It’ll be that period of excitement where we can explore prospects…brag when we got things right. Stick our heads in the sand and pretend we didn’t tout anyone when we were wrong. I’ll forever love it, i just worry about the overall talent pool being further diluted. The ruining of CFB has had an effect on me in that i give zero f’s about digging into drafts like I used to. Now it’s more of I check out prospects after we draft them.

Its always been like christmas morning…what new toys did we get? Or did we get socks and underwear?

I like Derrick Harmon but I wonder what his medical red flags are. I'd rather have him than a lot of the lower tier Edges being talked about with the Eagles. Harmon is legit really good.

Some are still doing the work and sharing it in here. Back in the day when Goeagles99 (Tommy) was around, a lot of these conversations were held in the NFL Draft section.

Got a sneaky suspicion that our dude Frazier goes as early as late RD4 to mid RD5.

The word is out, and even alot of the simulators are now showing him going in that range. Might have to trade up in RD5 to get him, and I'm all on board for that. His game and physicality is going to translate to an above-average starter in the NFL.

The only places that players are moving up or down draft boards at this point is the draft boards of the professional prognosticators (media) and draft sites (also media). Not on teams’ draft boards.

I think Smith was more about injury issues. Shemar Stewart is like purely an athletic projection. The guy just didn't produce.

Yep same logic that will be used to evaluate 'value'. Good value just means the media misjudged what the professionals thought of a player.

I have him more in the 100-150 range and am higher on his ball skills and breaking ability than they are. Definitely not a finished product though, so if that’s what they were trying to convey, I’d agree with that general theme.
