I like the idea of trading for Pitts.

I think he has the ability to go deep from the TE position.. and Hurts loves throwing those types of balls

Weren’t Long and BG more 4-3 DEs than 3-4 OLBs?

With that asked, Fangio used BG rather effectively last season, so it is understandable if a veteran DE who really can’t drop back into coverage like a 3-4 OLB can would still be a valuable resource in Fangio’s hands.

It's not wanting a 4-3 edge vs the capable vet who can take reps and start for multiple games if necessary. We all agree edge is important, and while they have people who can step in situationally, they don't have the depth they did last year going into camp. Last year, they paid Huff 17 million to be a starter with Sweat, with BG and Smith as backups, and Hunt, the rookie developmental guy. This year they have two starters, a solid backup, a guy who KC didn't even dress, and a late round pick we can't expect to progress as quickly as Hunt.

Goddamn you @HazletonEagle - I have now went down a rabbit hole that I wanted to avoid.

These arguments people are making is ass. There is no logic behind it other than hating a team that is really good at the play.

Is he an accomplished inline blocker?

@e-a-g-l-e-s eagles! what say you?

image.pngimage.png

It’s a cool piece of eagles memorabilia. However i don’t think it’s worth $4k. Probably worth closer to what he’s asking if you could match it to some point during that time (less likely or came with a COA or LOA from the eagles saying it’s what he thought and definitively proving 25 was McDonald and not just a sticker someone put on themselves). The issue with the sticker on the front is that it is in really solid condition compared to everything else on this chest. It feels like that sticker may have been placed on later by somebody and they wrote 25 to make it more valuable. That’s why the LOA/COA would’ve been really helpful.

No interest in an overpaid Kyle Pitts now that we kept Goedert. The need is at EDGE. I expect they'll assess the depth in camp with Ojulari, Uche, and APR before deciding to bring in a veteran.

I think he does. Starting just Smith and Hunt would be risky for a team built for a strong season. Hunt is unproven and Smith isn’t exactly a pillar of health. EDGE is probably the second weakest positional group ahead of only S if they don’t do anything.

I agree. Plus, they have to have eight edge guys just to get through TC and pre-season.

Do you have to have 8 guys or would they get more reps and more time with the staff? Would you get to see extended pre-season play from some of the rookies?

I'm sure they have camp bodies but Sweat, BG, Hunt, and Smith all started games and Huff saw snaps before he went down. They are a few solid players light in camp compared to last year considering they expected Baun to get snaps before he moved to LB. Essentially being 3 solid players deep at edge is a concern.

While it's good to move on from Huff, I don't like giving the 49ers potential ammo on the DL. He produced under Saleh.

Nick Bosa, Yetur Gross-Matos, Mykel Williams, Bryce Huff could be a formidable Edge rotation.

It's value to you could be off the charts, though if they could find say three more. Than you could put all your Eagles ish away when you move after the inevitable divorce when you disregard your wife's warning not to buy even one more f'ing Eagles thing or she will leave you. In fact to stave it off I suggest you buy her a present today. And it best not be anything Eagles related. Or Phillies. Or sports in general to be safe. Or a gift card. Or anything that is too small. Or too big.

Eight at a minimum. You don’t want to wear them out in TC and PS. Plus, Smith is still rehabbing from a torn pec so you don’t have five able bodies right now; you have four. And by the time you get to PS games you have pretty good idea of what you have. You give those guys a few reps and then put in the cannon fodder.

Everyone and their mother knew that the Commies were going to get curb stomped. As soon as we knew the matchup i said we would win by 40, the Rams were the toughest team in the playoffs besides us. Once we got by them no one was stopping that train

You make moves based on your roster, not based on the other team's roster.

Let's not forget that the 49ers were a 6 win team last year. Let's not get our panties in too much of a bunch over them. McCaffrey will never bounce back to what he once was.

Phillies are in a nail biter.

Down 15 with two innings to go.

Over/Under Proposition …

Assuming no catastrophic injuries(we know ordinary injuries will happen anyhow) what % chance do you give us to repeat? I'm going with an over/under prop of 85%.

What say you?

I'm biased as hell but I don't think there's really anyone in the NFC to challenge us and the AFC will have to beat each other up to get to the SB

I am not sure I saw BG drop in coverage last year but he was successful as an OLB in Chip’s 3/4. Long was a DE but a different defense.

They have 7 OLBs and Henry (who, while listed as a DE, is probably an OLB) and that doesn’t include Campbell, who I suspect will see some OLB snaps.

Yup team revolves around McCaffery, which is why the Purdy extension is so funny

That second half interception really cost the Phillies today. Suddenly, everyone in the rotation is doing an Aaron Nola impersonation.

Maybe they asked him to step forward to accept a move to the bullpen and the rest of them stepped forward to say "I’m Spartacus”

Eagles can officially sign someone today. We'll see if they do.
