If you want something to worry about then I’d say Nolan Smith. I don’t know what a setback is on a torn triceps that isn’t a re-tear which doesn’t magically heal in 6 weeks. But I’m not a doctor

Drake Maye is considered right there with Jonathan Taylor for MVP buzz.

His entire schedule has been against minor league defenses.

Make a list of your top10 teams (9 others plus the Eagles)

Now see how this team has done vs those top 9 teams.

Mine would be Philly KC Denver Green Bay Detroit Rams Tampa Indy NE Buffalo

Now find another team that is even close to as good as the Eagles vs good teams.

Detroit has 1 win vs top teams, Tampa, and it was in Detroit, not hot Tampa.

Green Bay has only beaten Detroit.

Denver beat Philly due to AJ quitting and the refs throwing the game at the end. (no call on obvious PI)

KC beat Detroit and lost to Philly.

New England beat the Bills and the Bills have beaten no one.

Philly beat Rams, Tampa, KC, and barely lost to Denver (because AJ was sad)

You can make it 12 and include Seattle and the Chargers, it won't change much.

To me these were the biggest Eagles problems in a bumpy 6-2 that could have been 8-0.

  • Jalen Carter missed 2 games (hes a top 25 player in the league)

  • Cam and Landon have played lots of snaps while physically unable to be good, let alone great.

  • Matt Pryor was a wrecking ball for his own team. (not a thing now)

  • The OC is a fool. (They are getting him towards competent / working around him / telling him what to do)

  • They did not have a blocking TE 2. They do now. His name is Fred. He is large.

  • AJ Dillon was not great and he injured 2 lineman (We have a Tank now)

They will be more fresh after the bye week. Toth was way above expectations but also far better than Cam getting shoved backwards 3 yards in the run game on repeat)

Maybe AJ is humbled by what happened without him or they just make the turd a 3rd option and feed DeVonta and Goedert to go with the run game.

I'm very optimistic going into the bye while fully realizing that the Giants are bad.

DCx2, Dallas, Vegas, and Chicago are also bad. That's 5 of 9.

Buffalo is a mess on D and Allen looks mediocre. Not worried.

The Chargers don't get home games when they play Philly, Pittsburgh, etc. Philly is the better team and louder fans in LA. Also, Herbert.

Detroit will be tough but they get them in Philly and I will take Hurts over Goff every time.

Green Bay? The Eagles own Jordan Love so far in his career. He looks pretty good vs everyone else and not so much vs Philly.

I would be concerned if the Eagles had to face the 1984 49ers, 1985 Bears, and the 2007 Patriots in the playoffs.

McCreary is excellent, but a nickel. His value will be lower than an outside guy that we need.

Really liked what I saw of Brandon Johnson in the PS. I think he is a stash candidate that will spend the season in an NFL Strength and Training program and learning the NFL, as is McWilliams. I think the nickel is covered. Right now the back up is Nickerson but I think he goes to the practice squad if Vic likes what he sees in Bennett.

Feels like we aren't appreciating Hunt's development enough. To go from an Ivy League safety a few years ago to this...pretty incredible. Hopefully he keeps ascending.

is it me, or does everything seem better in kelly green?

Tell me what happens if JC or Q miss any time? Very very possible. Happened already. There's no one backing up, that's competent. Byron Young? Adoree Jackson? Ringo? McCartney? Lennon? Need NFL players like Rodgers or Booker for depth and or can fill in start. Oh wait.....

Lost of suspect calls yesterday and one was the strip sack getting overturned. That has been a fumble for as long as we've had replay reviews and far as I remember they haven't made a rule change. The one earlier in the year was arguable either way and probably a correct reversal but the reversal yesterday was ridiculous. Pereira was clearly not able to explain why it was reversed.

because it was a fumble thats why.

We were due that bad call. I can recall at least 4 calls that should have gone the Giants way and didn't.

That rule needs to be changed btw. If the ball is knocked out before you are throwing a ball, then that needs to be a fumble. This "arm moving forward" thing is so stupid. Your arm can move forward and the ball can be knocked out before you even attempt to throw the ball.

I have no idea who may be in the trade block. I wouldn't make a trade for a CB unless it's a proven starter. Bennett is a good as any high upside lottery ticket already.

But I wouldn't pass on an established, upgrade there, because it is a need and Bennett is unproven so far.

I just don't see a guy that fits your description being available. If he is, great. I just don't anticipate it happening... especially at a cheap enough price to make the deal given that they let Rodgers walk for relative peanuts compared to a lot of starting CBs around the league.

The bad calls were all over the place against both teams yesterday:

  1. On the Giants first TD, Dean was held and basically tackled on the blitz

  2. A whistle clearly blew on Jake's FG attempt (ball in air), should have been a do over

  3. Jalen clearly had a first down on the scramble (Mahomes gets the flag for the late hit, Jalen doesn't)

  4. It was a fumble by Jalen on the ensuing brotherly shove

  5. That was clearly a strip sack fumble by Uche

  6. It was a GOOD CALL on the OPI on Slayton

Of course, the media will only talk about 4 and 6.

This is not the day to be complaining about bad calls. Giants were screwed over and over in that game.

As I said, they were horrible all across the board.

It wasn't that one directional.

Kelce being the only one that did it with 1 team is just wow

Sure but you can't overturn that on a review. That's just ridiculous.

It was a beatdown, the refs didn't rush for 270 - if the NYG fans are fixated on a couple calls they missed the game.

That last TD from Hurts was way under thrown. Thankfully Dotson bailed that bum out

What happens if Chris Jones or Trent McDuffie miss time?

How about Jared Verse and Byron Young?

How about Bosa and Warner... yeah, that already happened.

Losing all pro level players sucks. You can't build a roster with all pro backups.

I like Jakorian's ability. Lets see if they can coach him up.

He was making things miserable vs top end WR1s in Vegas.

Jordan Davis was awesome vs Dallas without JC and now that they have BG and Dean they are less likely to get run over if JC is out for a game.

We need to see improvement throughout the year so they peak in the playoffs. I am seeing that improvement.

I can't say for sure if it will continue but the Eagles should be the clear SB favorite right now.

Hurts was OK yesterday, coulda woulda had 2 TOs - but the point is to have the RBs in the drivers seat and Jalen do his job.

I disagree. I can't recall them all but I remember saying "we got lucky there" a bunch of times.

did you think we got lucky on the bs whistle on the elliot miss or the missed holding call on dean when the giants scored early?

edit - nevermind, @vikas83 covered this.
