Were any of the picks from that trade used in any of the Metchie trades? It gets confusing to follow sometimes. 😄

Yea, because the trade for Metchie was the picks from the CJGJ trade.

I was mostly too lazy to figure it out on my own though and wanted someone else to do it.

Carter is a better CB than Metchie is a WR, so in that perspective, they upgraded. We'll see what other moves they make.

Wonder if Howie consulted Fangio on this one unlike with Bennett and Adoree.

Doubt it. This was a Joe Douglas move.

I'd rather have good CB depth than a non factor WR

Yup. He adds depth at a fair price, with no long term cap hit. And, should we still have trouble on the outside, THEN you could mess around a bit and move Coop when needed.

I would suggest that Bennett starting (soon...) with Kelee at backup, may yet be enough there.

Jersey really does have an exit tax. Guy paid 5 million to leave.

Just watched Carter highlights. Pretty solid. Sticky in coverage and solid tackler. Doesn't have good hands. Doesn't get caught out of position like Ringo and Jackson. Looked decent on the outside. Better in the slot. This is a nice upgrade if healthy. Carter dropping the $5M guarantee means he's gotten some assurances of playing time.

When this thread jumps 10 pages lol

Looking forward to the Fangio press conference where he says he wasn't consulted, and we'll get him in practice to see what he's got.

Translation: see ya losers!

Next trade for him too!(j/k, I know not with the salary).

111 out of 113; that’s some hate, smh.

One more week of contenders turning into pretenders. There's gotta be about 2 more deals left in Trader Howie. With a stash of picks and at least 3 excess depth pieces to trade. In a good position. Not done yet! Can see Howie picking up that next tight end for 2026. And vet DT. Be happy with that.

Random but was rewatching some highlights and Smitty made a great block on Saquon’s long run TD Sunday.

Dude has the strength ratio of an ant.

Will literally be rooting for Ringo to hang onto the job over Carter. Granted, we gave up nothing, so I don't think Carter will be promised anything.

Unless they swap Ringo for another CB in another deal. Some fantasy trades were Eagles trading Ringo for Woolen and swapping picks.

I'm crossing my fingers there may be another move to drop. If Denzel Ward gets traded for like a 4th or something, that would be irritating.

12 million, 14 million, 32 million then 29 million....that is what Ward gets from this year through '27......this is not Madden. You actually have to pay attention to the salary cap. God I wish some of you would just f'ing stop with Ward, Garrett, etc......IT CAN'T F'ING HAPPEN so just get the f over it already.

So if we win the Super Bowl and Jets continue to do what the Jets do does that mean this could be Metchie and pick 216 for Carter II and pick 217?

There will be 6th round comp picks in between.

PFF rankings are invaluable.....

I mean worthless. I get those two confused. English is weird.

FYI These numbers are his salary cap hits if he stays with the Browns, not what the Eagles would have to pay if he is traded to them.

Well let me clarify, those are his cap numbers so I'll leave it to the gurus but no matter what, the Eagles DO NOT have the cap space for a massive addition and even if Ward would only cost the Eagles $1 a year in cap room, the Browns would eat a 28 Million dollar dead cap hit next year. So no, the Eagles will not be trading for every pro bowler and all-pro out there. Expect minor additions if any at all.

The Jets are invaluable as well. 😅

He would be cheap from a contract perspective for a one year rental. I don't think he would be cheap enough in regards to compensation just be a one year rental though.

He would be $20M next year and $20.5M in 2027. Non guaranteed so likely wouldn't get any of it.

So we trade a player we don't use and a scratch off ticket in 2027 for a player at the position where we are objectively weakest.

And we can afford to do this with the money we saved by not keeping Milton.

Howie szn!!!!!
