Good morning everyone. Eaglephan coming to you live from the shidder.

Going into this season, here are some things I’d like to see…

1. Hurts taking his game to the next level. Can Hurts be the guy to win a game with his arm in a shootout? I feel like he may have to do that this season with our schedule and the defense not being quite as good. I’m expecting Hurts to be a top 5 finisher in the MVP convo and be talked about as an eventual HOFer.

2. Getting Saquan more involved in the passing game. I know he doesn’t have the best hands but he’s a clear mismatch for any defensive player who would have to cover him. The screen game with him and our OL should be elite, but it’s not. He’s no Westbrook or Sproles but should be able to have 500 yards receiving over the course of the season. Last year he had 278.

3. Carter becoming the best interior DL in the league. I’m just not that confident in the defense this season. Smith and Hunt on the edge has potential but neither have a ton of experience. Davis has yet to prove he’s anything more than a 2-down lineman, and CB 2 is clearly the weakest spot on the whole team. Carter needs to consistently be a 1 man wrecking crew even when teams specifically scheme against him.

4. @hputenis and @Godfather finally announcing their love for one another and hiring @olsilverhair to ordain their wedding.

You could get a junior high school art class to create better ones, honestly. The Phillies' city connect uniforms actually had the right idea using the city colors but they didn't execute it properly.

I still like them, even if no one else does. The pants should have more blue.

Epps is a backup and special teamer. If he has to start for a long period of time, that isn’t great. Bringing him back tells me that Brown isn’t a reliable backup

McCollum stunk. But I wouldnt be surprised to see Epps over Brown because Epps is reliable, and even a passable starter.

Eagles still have the best team in the NFC, and the AFC Super Bowl team has to go through a rougher playoff schedule and be more worn down from it. Strong chance at repeat despite a tougher regular season schedule.

We knew some players on defense would be leaving, they'd be relying on rookies and 2nd year players, the coaching is there to make it work and adjust as needed. They have star players at each level of defense. We complained for years about the bad defensive drafting and now look at them. Returning players are going to be better with another year under Fangio's coaching. There will be a step back in some areas but overall a strong team with strong chance to repeat.

Was Epps signed to the PS? Otherwise, Eagles need to make room on the 53.

Yep, we all know it’s extremely difficult to not ‘take a step back’ from where the Eagles ended the season as a completely dominant Super Bowl winner. And yes odds are the iffy roster spots won’t work out to the degree they did last year. But they still have a great team and it should be a fun season. It’s Eagles football and we’re a two time Champion franchise. Something that seemed unthinkable 8 years ago
