Barring the Rams getting upset by the Falcons or Cardinals, the Eagles will play the Seahawks/Niners/Packers first.

Rank them in order who you'd most like to play to least.

Did anyone ever see a replay of the play where Hurts scrambled and got hit on the sideline? That sure looked like it should have been a personal foul but they never bothered to show it on the broadcast.

Yep. Many of us were flipping out when that happened.

I don't want to sound like a cliche, but everyone always says that there are no 100% healthy starters in week 18. That's why I want to bench everyone.

It's a slippery slope. If Dickerson/Jurgens/Lane don't play...do we really want to put Hurts behind that OL? And why put miles on Barkley just before the playoffs for him to get swallowed up in the backfield? And then why stick the defense out there for what will be a ton of snaps when a 2/5 starting OL just conceeds a ton of 3 and outs?

If they are going to play the starters, then Dickerson/Jurgens and Carter and whomever else is banged up kind of needs to play. Otherwise they'll just get launched into (and quickly out of) the playoffs with a tired team and a lousy taste in their mouth after coming out flat against the crappy Commanders. All in or all out, IMO. And I choose all out.

You only play the starters if a win gives them the #2 seed. That isn't the case. Detroit just went into Minny and lost to a rookie UDFA QB that looked like he couldn't throw a ball 20 yards. One of the worst NFL QB's I have ever seen. They are not winning in Chicago with their terrible defense.

I don't think the Eagles can win playing all backups but that is OK. An OL of Kendall, Pryor, Toth and some practice squad guy will not score many points. Then you would have Calciaterra and Granson at TE. McKee would need to be a magician to score points with those guys.

It's cool I'm sure they have some awesome plays drawn up that we'll never see where Goedert leaks out on a route from the FB position. Totally worth wasting those plays

Josh Allen was 15-1 in December before this loss. He also only lost one home game in two years. That was a monumental win last night.

Packers

Seachickens

Whiners

Packers scare nobody.

Seachickens depends on the Darnold you get.

Whiners, possibly paper tigers but that has shoot out potential. This team can’t keep up with a shoot out. I trust the D to keep is reasonable…but at some point they’re gonna break.

You should've called them the Fudgepackers to keep with the theme.

Can you imagine weird Bills fans screaming that the 15-1 is a team stat and that the defense carried him to 7 of those wins?

Here's the situation that scares me the most with this team....

95% of the time, this defense will reduce any game into a low scoring slugfest. And this team has experience with tight games, playoff games, and gutting out wins (even this crappy offense). Those games can always go either way and their luck can certainly run out (as it did in a few regular season games), but the Eagles will always be the smart money in each one. That's not my fear.

The offense is leaving them with zero margin for error. All it takes is 1-2 plays to go sideways. A PR/KR for TD. A deep TD over Jackson (or anyone on a broken play). The capacity to recover is absent. If this team goes down 2 scores...I'm not talking 14-0; 10-0 is plenty. The game is over. This offense has zero capacity to get out of 1st gear. Gutting out a win on 1 drive when you need a FG to go up 17-14...sure. Answering a score, erasing a deficit, or keeping pace if the other team is having success on offense? No, no, and no. Absolutely, unquestionably not happening. If they end up in a hole, the game is over. And that margin of error is brutal in the playoffs.

They dug out of a hole against the Rams.

I thought at the time that 2nd half was the awakening of this offense.

It wasn't that. But it showed us it can show up if needed.

Im just not quite sure how dire things need to be for Hurts to up his game and start running to extend drives. Could have used it last night.

Do you think the coaching issues are Siri or Patullo? Or just a combo?

Mainly Patullo, but Nick has to wear some blame as well. It did seem like Nick was coming as close as he ever does to criticizing KP last night after the game -- saying he needed to get more involved in play calling.

If we are going to bench Jurgens then I’m going Kendall. I rather see what Kendall can do and get him experience. I imagine the drop off from Toth to Kendall is not exactly much. Plus i think Kendall has more upside than Toth.

Eh...week 18 and going into the playoffs, I'm not looking to develop upside. I just want a non-liability.

Very likely the gameplan didn't include called Hurts rushing plays given the conditions and the fact that it wasn't a must win game. That all changes in two weeks.

They aren't firing Sirriani. That's silly. His results have been historical. There are quite a few OC's who became head coach at the same or even after that are long gone. Even the best of them not named Reid haven't one more than one championship themselves at best. It's an obsession of this board to get the next McVay but those guys are very hard to find and quite frankly this board takes shots at McVay too

Then if you don't want to open that door (which is also fine), then there exactly 2 names as options with the experience everyone demands to be the OC next year.

Patullo as OC is an HR violation.

You cant have your best friend in that role because you want to protect him more than you want to protect your team from him.

Its fraud or malpractice by the head coach. Its up to Howie to fix it.

I gotta say, this guy, Shane Haff -- some of the analysis by Twitter guys is great and so much better than anything on TV

Jurgens has been a big pile of sheet pretty much all year. They clearly were hoping he'd eventually heal enough to start playing well but it just hasn't happened. Toth was better when he played. Tough to bench a guy but he's obviously hurting the team right now and I can't see how anything can change over the next two weeks.

I think after the debacle at the Chargers, Siri wants Hurts to play as safe as possible. It would definitely backfire if we are behind or maybe not like when we won against the Rams. This O has zero rhythm and consistency. I know lesser offenses have won SB',so maybe our plan is to have zero turnovers and rely on the D to give us short fields like last night and then hope and pray.

Not much separates them, TBH. SF is the hottest team of that group and has the best QB. That's a big differentiator in a bad playoff field.

I'm not talking about called Hurts runs. Other than draws, those are wasted downs. Hes too slow around the corner.

The scrambles for 1st downs is what we need more of.

Reddick has 2.5 sacks this year. He will never see a big payday. One of the apl time botched decisions like him taking on millions of fines for no reason.

As I've said now three other times, that's fine if that is how the league wants to set it up and in that case they need to clearly communicate the change. That type of play has been called a penalty when it comes to QBs for at least the last 50 years.

When its close you need to use your judgement. Put out your arms and use your momentum to force the QB further out of bounds. You can even put your hands up as you make the contact. Its like the body weight is never an issue unless its the QB. You have to contact since Mahomes is a scumbag who fakes going out of bounds and others can try that but you do not have to punish the QB on the sidelines.

This is 100% a penalty if its Allen in the same game or Mahomes ever or Stafford, etc. The refs decided to not give Hurts the 15 that was deserved. It was ref agenda plain and simple, just like making a fresh ruling on the Smith catch instead of admitting its too close to change.
