I’ve said steen gets the seumalo treatment. He isn’t great but the issue is far more the guys we are paying big money too have been bad and need to be far better than the issues with steen

But oddly only this year...

Uhhh....NO!

@Cliftoma Its a good analogy but my underlying problem is that the entire point to the 2025 Eagles was to get Patullo a bunch of HC interviews this offseason. The team was a secondary concern to this goal. He has been so incompetent that it won't happen and I don't see how he turns anything on.

So will Hurts try to turn back into the 5 TD running 5 TD passing beast of the 2024 playoffs? Yes

Will Lane return and give a huge boost to the OL? I sure hope so.

Will Fred replace Calcaterra? Patullo is so stupid that sometimes is probably the best answer.

I think they have the talent to crush 4 of these mediocre teams in the playoff field.

I hope they have enough of an on switch to be that boxer throwing haymakers.

Dickerson. Jurgens have been awful all year and mailata hasnt been much better, Steen should be the 5th best O line but with the rest playing so poorly behind Lane, when healthy Steen has been the 2nd best OL

@Connecticut Eagle My bad. Who was the passing game coordinator last year? Who was the HC?

So we see the 2025 HC/OC fail all over the place obvioulsy but you want to hint that its maybe the QB?

This offense is best in 2025 when they don't have Calcaterra on the field, when they use Tank regularly, and when they get inspirational plays designed or called for by DeVonta, AJ, Hurts, or the OL.

So keep pretending one of the best deep ball passers in the NFL wants a bunch of blanketed Hank routes.

Keep pretending that a guy who dominated Spags in 2 Super Bowls wants to run a 17 points per game offense.

And if somehow you are right, then 100% fire Siri and Patullo and replace them with leaders and teachers who can explain and guide Hurts to not want Hank over success.

Fran trashed the 3rd down play calls/design in the 2nd half today.

I said someone in the building. It could very well be Sirianni not trusting Hurts with crossing routes. Their analytics may have shown a higher INT rate and they are settling on safer routes.

My point is that it's been going on for several seasons. And Sirianni and Hurts are the constants. This isn't a Patullo thing.

Translation: waiting for Howie and Lurie to tell me how to proceed.

I think Mukuba and <insert journeyman, Epps?> will start next season, but they'll draft a safety to be the eventual replacement at SS.

Use draft capital to get into the top 10 for Caleb downs. Secondary good for 10 years

Patullo was the passing game coordinator from 2021-2024

Why pretend he was not both there and involved in 2024?

Probably a fair assessment. I always lead with Hurts in my assessment of the offense's failures, but I think that sums it up best.

And I'll continue to beat this dead horse...because this tweet drives at the same issue: the offense's one chance to get right is more effective OL play. Their one chance to get more effective OL play was a healthy, not banged up OL. Their one chance at a healthy OL was extended, extended rest, specifically for Jurgens and Dickerson. Screw the seeding, screw the "needs reps" and timing. That was the path to improvement and the coaches chose not to take it.

Sirianni not outright saying yes to me puts the odds this weekend more of them sitting them. I think if they planned to play them they'd be adamant about it and would already know.

With an outside chance of them being truly undecided or Sirianni/the Eagles being evasive as they are with everything.

But I do think if they were feeling like they were, he'd say we plan to play the starters we're going out there to win and try for the 2 seed.

Because he wasn't the OC. He wasn't calling for hitches during the game for four season.

Eh...week 18 and going into the playoffs, I'm not looking to develop upside. I just want a non-liability.

Toth played well at Center. Better than Cam has. It is arguable that you play Toth not just to rest Cam but because Cam has ****s this year. Now is the last chance to make the switch before the playoffs.

At an absolute minimum in the play don't play conversation, Cam MUST sit this week.

Hank is conservative and stupid and that fits Siri to a tee.

Stiechen is not a Siri disciple. He is a Norv Turner disciple. he played at UNLV with Norv's son.

Kellen Moore is in no way a Siri disciple.

Reich was functional OC and playcaller in Indy when Siri and Patullo were there.

I guess they learned some things from Reich in those years.

Patullo is like 80% a product of Siri's teachings. He's been Siri's padawan for 5 years now in Philly.

He was WR coach for 2 years under Reich and passing game coordinator in 2020 (The Rivers year)

Nick was the OC (but not play caller) for all 3 Patullo years in Indy. So Siri has been his boss/superior for like 8 years now.

How would you rank the HCs of the playoff teams in each conference?

NFC

  1. McVay

  2. Sirianni

  3. Shanahan

  4. MacDonald

  5. Johnson

  6. LaFluer

  7. Bowles

  8. Canales

AFC

  1. Jim Harbaugh

  2. Vrabel

  3. Payton

  4. Ryans

  5. John Harbaugh

  6. Coen

  7. McDermott

  8. Tomlin

They're going to rest starters to get them an additional bye week, not because they don't want the #2 seed or they're scared Washington will play dirty and hurt their players (I literally laughed when I read people posting that last night) -- they will look at the opponent and realize the Commanders are 1-10 in their last 11 games. They will have McKee start against a pretty bad Commanders defense and see if they can put up enough points to win. 20 points might well be enough.

I’d lean heavily toward sitting the starters this week, regardless of seeding.

We desperately need another bye week. 60% of our OL is injured, our best player overall has 2 wrecked shoulders, Jaelan Phillips just had an injury scare. I trust our backups against a depleted Commanders unit in the event the Bears give us a window.
