BS. He alligator armed the first one because the safety was coming over to hit him. The second one hit him in both of his hands. AJ is a loser who caused problems all year and then quit on his team and came up small when it mattered most but dumb fans like you will still make excuses for him.

I said earlier I wouldn't call for him to be traded but I wouldn't be upset if they did.

I dont want a first round OL. But we may be in Ioane territory and that might be a more immediate need than Tackle. Because if Lane retires, we have a starting quality option on the roster who we just used for half the year.

If Dickerson can not recover, we have nothing at Guard.

Ioane is a plug and play possible Dickerson level OG. Ioane and Becton? We are in business.

I didn’t think anyone had been projecting him that high. Awesome G prospect but it never feels like great, satisfying value to come out of the early 20’s with an OG who doesn’t even project to tackle (even Shawn Andrews when they traded up in 2004 they planned on making a tackle).

Unless they want Fred Johnson to be the starting RT next year, I just feel like they have to make a move there.

Well it’s not surprising.

The offense established itself and its identity this year: they are bad and they are dead on arrival in the second half when they get conservative with a lead. They could be playing a top 3 defense or a bottom 3 defense (so long as it’s not a team competing for draft position). They are not going to score many points. All those SF defensive injuries didn’t even matter. Against professionals that collect paychecks, our offense can’t sustain drives and score points.

And on defense? Well, they picked a bad time to have a bad game. They had a few bad games this year and this just happened to be one of them. Not much else to it there, IMO.

The defense always had zero margin for error because the offense proved it was unquestionably incapable of picking up the slack. Eventually, the defense would sputter and it’d be game, season over. Sadly, it happened in the first playoff game. Could have just as easily been NFCCG or so, but it was coming.

The bigger picture is even when the Eagles played bad defenses it still didn’t look fluid and natural. It was always like pulling teeth. Like go back to the commanders game in DC. The first half of that game it was very clunky. Now they got it going in the second half. But even when they scored touchdowns in that game, they had penalties that made it even harder for them to do it. This offense it never looks sustainable. don’t really care who everybody wants to blame because it’s been a problem with the passing game for a while now. And now it’s starting to go towards the running game.

Thinking about it, that was the most embarrassing game if the Nick Sirianni era and the most embarrassing since the Chip Kelly era. You have a team with this much talent going up against a decimated Niners defense that got absolutely torched multiple weeks in a row. You are at home in the playoffs and your offense plays like that. It's a complete and total embarrassment. Just a disgrace. If I was Lurie I'd be fuming, I wouldn't be able to sleep. Not even all because of regret, even though it was a missed opportunity. But with how inept this highly paid offense was. And how undisciplined they remained with the awful penalties. It's far worse than the playoff blowouts of 2021 and 2023 because those teams just weren't good enough.

I want heads to roll. And Patullo alone won't suffice. Moorehead can go. What WR has he made better than their talent level? Frazier can go. Loeffler can go, Hurts regressed.

I wouldn’t say 0%. I think the only way he gets fired is if the Eagles go to him and say we want you to get a new offensive coordinator. We don’t think patullo is any good, he’s gone and we’re gonna go get you one. If sirianni says no, I’m not going to fire him and we can fix this. Then I think there’s a chance he gets fired. Otherwise I don’t think he gets fired.

More wasted time if not

herbert is 0-3 🤣

The refs let 49ers get away with too much whereas every little tick-tack call on the Eagles after they made a play got called.

Tin foil man would say this was the NFL getting the Eagles back for the Tush Push offseason drama....

Not that I have a huge presence on here, but it’s time to take my break from social media…hopefully Patullo is flipping burgers by the time I come back on here in a couple months…Go Birds 🦅

I’d argue this, go look at the San Francisco 49ers roster and who they had today. That game was a mismatch in terms of who was available. Eagles had 20 of 22 starters out there. Niners had no linebackers, down bosa, down kittle, down multiple DL, banged up secondary and down starting WR.

I’m not saying the Eagles talent was playing to its level, but I have a hard time believing that 20 out of 22 starters for the Eagles being out there and the fact that the Niners we were having backups to backup players playing you couldn’t beat that team based on talent

Siri believes that talent wins out, today Shanahan showed that a really good scheme beats talent.

Vic got worked by Shanahan and Patullo predictably got worked by saleh.

The better coached team won today, not the more talented one.

I asked this to someone else earlier and they never responded. What does that say about the defense and Fangio today? I'm not blaming them for losing but they deserve a share of it. 9ers were down several WRs and then lost Kittle early. As soon as that happened I thought we should win the game without Kittle out there. Very disappointed in the defense especially late for not being able to hold them with so many guys out for them.

Ioani is definitely projected there, and as the top OG I think he will go even higher. I dont think Ioane will be a realistic target for us come draft time picking at 23. We would need to trade up, which I wont be on board with. But at 23? I dont even want an round 1 OL and Im on board with Ioane at 23.

Do you really need a HOF RT? Im good with trying to let any one of the 3 rookies from this year develop while we start Fred Johnson next season. I think he is good enough as a band-aid. And if none of those rookies develop, then you can make your desperation first round OT pick next year.

Yeah when you think about it from a cost benefit perspective with HIS money, I bet he is pissed. Who wouldn't be?

The whole season has been a disgrace offensively.

All that wasted money....

You must of been watching a different game than me.

The first one Aj had to reach way down below his knees because the ball took a dive. If anything he could of tried to dive but when have you ever seen aj lay out for a pass? Thats not his game. Youre feelings for AJ are clearly skewing your perspective.

Like I said the second one was off his fingertips, if he isnt interfered with its a td.

It was a blatant PI, youre reaction to that play is as bad as Siris who instead of yelling at the tefs for an obvious missed PI decided to run down the field to yell at his player, I wish Siri hdd that same energy on that play towards the refs as he did AJ.

Siri is a clown. Want to see a real coach that his players respect, look at vrabel right now.

AJ is a super bowl winner, he said exactly what all of us were thinking this year and this loss proved just what a 💩 show it was.

Loser eagles fans whine for years that they dont have any WRs then when they get one they want to run him out of town after his idiot coach and OC set him up to fail.

Thanks for the super bowl AJ, sorry the eagles failed you, hope your knee gets better and good luck on your new team.

AJ is a really tricky situation. I get everyone’s perspective. I understand frustration with his antics and performance and I understand the defense of those things too. It’s my belief that he’s just beginning a steep decline and has far less left in the tank than anyone realizes.

That said, Im not sure what they are supposed to do about it. I don’t think this offense is in a position where a WR is a wise decision as a 1st or 2nd round pick. And our passing offense is fragile. With what our passing offense has become, I’m not really in the mood to draft a WR we wont use/optimize in the 1st or 2nd round as the OL falls apart. And what the hell does happen to our already horrid pass attack if we subtract Brown?

If they aren’t going to save cap space by trading him…then it’s hard to justify doing it. They are going to have to let some of these disappointing over-the-hill players on offense just play out their contracts as starters. And that’s a scary thought that makes it really difficult to evolve or improve.

Where was the slant pass to AJ this afternoon? He used to run that with a high percentage of success. I may have missed it, but did not notice that play was called at all.

Oh geeze...again? The Niners were playing mostly zone...you do not run a slant into the teeth of the zone unless you want to get your WR killed. There is always going to be someone waiting for him as he comes across. Slants are man-to-man beaters, as in Brown's case because he can get inside leverage and then use his big body to shield off the defender and safely continue across the field. The opposing defenses avoid playing the Eagles with man, because Brown and Smith are two of the best M-M beaters in the league, and Hurts really struggles with timing and anticipation for hitting the gap throws.

I’ll be ticked off tonight, but I’m already excited about a potential new OC. The only thing that would be worse than losing to the Niners, though, would be keeping Patullo. I’d lose a lot of interest in the Eagles this offseason if that were the case.

Jeremiyah Love. How high will we go?Someone like that would be perfect for this offense.

Just my opinion, there’s no scenario they fire him one year after winning the SB, with his record, after just giving him an extension and making the playoffs every year in his career. Lurie cares way too much about imaging to ever make that drastic of a move. They would try to make it work on their terms and leave it up to Nick for at least one year.

If they bring back Kevin Pattulo as the OC then if they don’t turn around next year, he’s gonna get fired after 2026. Because that feels very much like when he gave Chip Kelly the reigns to see if he would hang himself in 2015 and he wound up hanging himself.

I would agree with you image wise he wouldn’t want to do it. But if sirianni is adamant that he doesn’t want to move on from Kevin Pattulo, I don’t know how you can justify bringing him back seeing what happened with your offense and the analytics department showing you just how bad they were.

That said I don’t think sirianni is going to do that. But I am very curious if he does, what transpires. Cause I don’t think Jeffrey Lurie wants to fire Nick. I do think there’s no way Lurie is allowing sirianni to have Patullo back one way or another

Top 5. And even if we had a top 5 pick, would never happen with Barkley here, and on his contract.

You know who looked like a perfect fit for this offense? Bigsby.

Exactly. I feel the same way. Better to lose now and get a new OC then lose to the Bears next week, mark this season as decently successful and get Patullo back next year. This season was so infuriating. A part of me is glad it's over and the Cowboys are out as well so I can just relax and cheer my hometown Texans to win it all :)

Well…it all depends on what blueprint we are talking about on offense. Lurie has openly stated he prefers a passing offense with a drop back qb. They went off script and did an amazing job winning a SB by building around what they ended up with.

Yeah, this offense needed a HOF RT, HOF level RB, all-pro LG/OC, and a LT/RG that were right there with them. They needed that. For 3 years, this offense was built around weaponizing the OL.

Is it easy to recreate that exact blueprint and identity? Noooope. If they are going to do it that way, I think they need 1st and 2nd round picks invested in the OL. If they are going to do it differently…then…well…you know what they have to do.

Yup, I like AJ but his knee has really slowed him and hes in decline and trading him wouldnt make a lot of sense on multiple levels as you say.

We'll see, its too bad, its gotta be frustrating to be in an offense where the coach and OC are clueless offensively and the qb is a limited passer, if I were AJ id want out to.

I dont think AJ dogged it this year I just think hes dropping off and his knee is wrecked.

Maybe he comes back next year and his hammy and his knee are right and with a new OC shows out but I doubt it, once older guys start having hammy issues they dont usually get better.

If the 49ers beat Seattle, which i dont think will happen, does this loss not seem as bad?

I'm just picturing Sam Darnold throwing 3 interceptions next week. 49ers got a ton of confidence after winning today's game. Who knows?
