Multiple things can be true but I have it at 2 drops

That 2nd drop was just out of reach, like they say its a game of inches.

AJ shouldnt have to play through contact, it was an obvious blatant DPI i cant be mad at AJ for not making a play after getting blatantly interfered with, eagles fans gave been spoiled by him, theyre more mad at AJ then they are the stupid refs and it wasnt just this game, AJ has had to ply through a lot of contact rhis year, guys grabbing and holding on for dear life and I cant remember many if any being called and surprisingly i dont remember too many times his coach OC or QB pleaded his case for him, heck mahommes looks sideways at a ref for PI and the refs throw the flag, aj gets mugged at gun point in his own home and super bowl mvp says nothing the refs swallow their whistles and the super bowl winning coach runs down the sideline in a angry tirade not to berate the idiot refs and defend his player, but instead to berate his own player.

3rd drop was bad and uncharacteristic as AJ catches that ball 99 out of 100 times, in the end it wasnt that consequential as goedert converted very next play.

Was curious though that in the last play hurts would rater take his shot with goedert in quadruple coverage than to AJ.🤷‍♂️

Yep - should have gone to AJ or Smitty on that last play. That was a bad decision by QB1 (on top of a bad play design)

We have a coach who has to be babysat by Big Dom. Think about that. He is a freaking clown.

Yup.

Its a joke that the head coach of a professional football team needs a baby sitter.

At first it was kind of funny and they were winning so much it got brushed under the rug, but once the O started inploding Nics antics clearly started wearing thin with the players which concluded with Siris idiotic tantrum today hes a clown in a 💩 show.

The defense was awesome though - especially the 2nd half of the season.

I’ve watched that play a half dozen times - there was no one open - they called verticals against zone and every receiver was under neath - no chance of anyone getting open. That play is designed for receivers to blow past zone 20-30 yards downfield - not within the red zone underneath.

Craziest play I’ve ever seen called in that situation.

I’ll end my thoughts tonight with some optimism…

Given the situation we put ourselves in by promoting Patullo, today was the best case result for us long-term. Patullo left no question he had to be replaced. We’re going to be players in a damn good hiring window for OCs. Our draft picks will be better. Howie gets to be in builder mode again adding to this offense. Sirianni has used up all his chances to run the offense.

If we had won a couple 18-13 type games before getting wrecked, we’re probably stuck with Patullo another year. We’re picking in the late 20s. There’s less urgency to really fix this thing.

There are a lot of dominoes to fall, but we have a real chance to come out firing in 2026 - a much better chance than if we squeaked by again today.

I like your optimism that if they get a better play caller, they’ll have a better offense. Can’t get much worse in term of play calling then what we saw this year.

However, I look at the totality of this team, I wouldn’t be entirely that shocked if they took another step back next year. First we’ve been really fortunate not to have a boat load of major injuries the last couple years. Feels like at some point you always run into it.

Then Look at who they may potentially lose. There’s a chance you lose Dallas goedert, Blankenship, Phillips, dean, Graham and lane (i think he comes back) may retire. This doesn’t include the fact AJ is an huge question mark to be back. Losing Dotson as well so a starter and a no 3 wr. also add to the fact you still need a number two corner. Essentially you might need to draft/sign a starting S and depth at S, starting WR and backup WR, starting TE and backup TE, depth at DE, starting corner and depth at corner. All while also likely trying to get your future RT and hoping Cameron Williams makes the jump as Fred Johnson is a FA.

The Eagles also don’t have significant cap space comparative to a lot of other teams. It’s not awful by any means. When they release Michael Carter and maneuver some smaller stuff around they should have around 30+ million dollars however the Eagles are coming up close to having this sign some of these guys on defense that are mainstays. Davis needs a new deal. Carter is eligible for a new deal. Nolan smith is eligible for a new deal. Q, dejean and some others. I don’t think they could just go into free agency and spend like they used too.

I am not saying they’re definitively going to be worse next year. What I’m saying is I don’t think it would surprise me if this team took another step back in 2026

Bad play design is an under statement, just idiotic stuff from coaches who claim to be professional.

Im not claiming I could come up with anything better but im not paid to, somehow Siri and Patullo are and thats what they came up with out of a time out with the season on the line.

Honestly it was a perfect conclusion and microcosm of the whole FUBAR season.

I recently went on blood pressure meds, Im fairly certain this eagles offense week to week was a reason why, good riddance 2025 eagles offense I hope the complex PTSD you caused me blocks this offense from my memory.

The fact that they called the timeout to call that play is ridiculous.

For now, anyway.

Officiating isn’t perfect nor is it expected to be but at the very least, it should be balanced - meaning you either make the same calls for/against both teams or you don’t make them at all.

It’s that simple.

Yea i don't watch another second of football on Sundays because it's unwatchable. I won't watch another second of football this season either. Absolute garbage product and officiating was a one of the reasons we lost.

The offense was garbage, no doubt about it. But the niners getting away with murder on defense and holds on offense, we were never winning this game

I hate losing. It pisses me off when they lose games especially ones where they should’ve won. But even though this was a game they should’ve won, I’m not nearly as upset as I have been in previous playoff losses. it’s because they needed this to happen in order to be true to themselves. if they would’ve won and kept Pattulo because they won the wildcard game then nothing changes. You’re gonna have the same issues next year. needed this reality check. there is something significantly wrong with the offense as it is hard to just get first downs for long periods of time.

Knowing that Lurie and the Eagles are analytically driven as an organization is big in all this. When you are analytically one of the 10 worst offenses in the league there’s no sugarcoating it. You were closer to what the jets as an offense than a tam that was just outside the top 10. That is how bad the eagles were. They even got worse as the season went on. They were 25th in DVOA and 26th in success rate after the bye. analytically they were far worse than the 2021 eagles. I believe this was second worse analytical eagles offense since Howie came back in 2016.

Lol.

I didnt see it but apparently Siri didnt look to enthused with the play calling he had a hand in calling either.

Siri has always maintained and said multiple times and players like barkley have echoed his words that football is fairly simple and they just need to execute better.

Siri believes better talent wins yet doesnt matter how talented his players are and how well they execute that last play that play had zero chance of being successful. Just a moronically idiotic basic concept and play call destined to fail...

Siri and Patullo got outcoached on every level.

They didnt get out talented, or out worked they simply got out coached,

This really is the positive spin. No way KP can come back with the mess the O has been all year long.

A win against Niners and then a close loss to the Bears - Siri may well have convinced Howie and Lurie to give KP another go, hoping he will learn with experience.

thought the last 45 seconds of this was spot on. I said this before they even played the Super Bowl last year. If you come back in 2025 and try to win it the same way you did in 2024, it wouldn’t work. Entire offseason of other teams scouting you. Add on just thinking you can have a historic run game is not sustainable. Still Should’ve been better than what they were. they had to evolve the passing game. it couldn’t be minimally throw it, just be efficient and don’t turn over the ball. They made minimal if real any improvement there. so with that issue and when the running game and even the defense (saw big for run game and slight for defense) drop offs it was enough to make you go from champion to just a playoff team.

Thats pretty sad for the most expensive offense in the league

Some will say most talented but the only offensive player to make the pro bowl was Cam Jurgens, who was also the lowest rated starting OL in the whole league, and yet they still had more and enough talent on offense tobeat a scab niners defense but alas the men in charge of that offensive attack, ( Siri and Patullo) are offensive village idiots.

After they fire Patullo none of it will matter if they dont fix the O line. Not sure Jurgens will ever be any good again, backs are tricky things and can end careers

Im not sure Dickerson is going to get any better, his knees at this point are duct tape and super glue, he wasnt functional this year and I dont think hes going to get better and where hes at now hes a liability☹️

Mailata was ok and had a bad year and while his injury was never disclosed im guessing he can be better next year than he was this year.

Well see, first things first, Fire Patullo, hire a real OC then go about re tooling O line.

I like what I saw from Kendall in limited action.

I think Hinton and Williams have potential.

While it helps to have the best O line in the legue teams can win super bowls with just 5 functional guys that work well together, they dont all have to be all pros but they need to be functional and this year Dickerson and jurgens werent functional and that really hampered the O.

The thing is we don’t know where Jurgens and Dickerson are in their careers. We said lane was on the decline and becoming too injury prone in 2020 then he was fantastic (when on the field) 2022-2024. With Jurgens, his back issue might be crippling to the rest of his career. However, I need to see him in 2026 to know that. Because if he doesn’t need surgery this off-season and he gets to train like he normally does that may make a difference. Now, if he’s still bad next year, then at that point in time, we know that this back injury was indeed something that took away what he could be. But until that time, I can’t really definitively say he’s done or he’s gonna be back.

As for Dickerson, he’s been banged up since he was at Alabama. Still think when he’s healthy he’s a top tier OL. just probably needs to get his body in better condition and hope he can avoid the injury bug.

Since 2021 this is really the first year their offensive line has not been overly good. I think we need to let it play itself out next year to see where we are at RG, C and LG. the contracts basically make it that they have too besides steen (who frankly is fine if the guys they are paying a lot of money to our living up to their contracts). i do think our backups may be better next year. Guys like Lampkin, Kendall, Williams and Hinton working with stoutland and training for a year is going to help.

Imo they can’t rely on lane next year to stay healthy and play 17 + 3-4 playoff games. At 35 it’s unrealistic. Even Trent Williams missing more time as he gets older and still one of the better LT in the game. Unless they truly believe Williams can be the future right tackle then they really should invest in the early rounds in an offensive tackle. Hopefully that kid can play some G so while he waits for Lane to pass the torch he can compete with steen at guard. And then slide out when lane gets hurt

I havent seen anything from dickerson to suggest hes going to get better

Hes declined every year since 2023 and theres know reason to think after more injuries hes going to be better.

Youre the second person thats suggested dickerson needs to get in better shape, dickerson didnt suck this year because hes fat, hes always been a big kid even in college, and even at 330+ in college he was doing cartwheels in interviews, he had uncommon athleticism and agility for a man of his size. That athleticism and agility is long gone and its not because hes fat, hes always been fat, its because his knees are held together with duct tape and super glue and thats not getting better.

The way dickerson is gong he'll be using a walker at 35☹️

He wasnt functional this year and I dont think losing 20 pounds is gonna miraculously cure his made of saw dust knees.

My knees are trash, I hurt my knee when I was 12 and hurt it 6 more times after that, I weigh 155 lbs, if i lost 20 pounds my knees would still be trash, dickersons knees are past the point where " getting in shape" is going to do little more than keep him out of a wheel chair in a few years.

imo I think if he got himself in better shape, he could’ve avoid breaking down as fast as he is. He is older now than when he was drafted so he should be taking better care of his body so it doesn’t deteriorate faster. Do I think losing 30 pounds is gonna change everything with his knees? No, but you can’t tell me if he didn’t get himself into better shape he might benefit from it. It is also not just his knees that he would be benefiting from by doing it. Like his endurance would be better. I felt like this year in general he looked bigger than he did in the previous seasons. You say 330 he might be closer to 340-345 this year.

I would add it would help if the eagles didn’t have to rush him back from having a knee injury in the preseason. That knee injury needed more than a couple weeks to come back from. add on got Another injury along the way. Imo i think he got it trying to compensate for his unstable knee he came back to quick from

Furthermore, Jordan mailata discussed this when training camp began. He talked about how he and guys along the OL still didn’t feel right in July coming off last year. People seem to think just because you have 6 months off that you’re just gonna recover and be what you were the previous season. Like this is Madden football and that when you start the next season, everybody’s back to 100% and you’re fine. The Eagles have played 9 extra playoff games going in to 2025. That is more than half a season. Then you add the fact that in two out of last 3 of them (prior to the year) they went into February playing.

Add on Becton wasn’t here but he was one of the worst guards in the league this year. I think some of that is not working with Stoutland, but he also just didn’t look like he was moving as well as last year when he did. Also had injuries. So 4 of the 5 starting eagles OL in 2024 dealt with injuries and got banged up. Maybe that’s all a coincidence. Or maybe it’s the residual effect of 2024.

Imo I tend to think their OL being banged up and injured hurt the eagles. Also believe contributing to that is the residual effect of a having to be a historic physically dominating run blocking team in 2024. I don’t think people understand just how much it took out of those guys to play at the level they did and be as physically dominating as they were week in and week out for 21 games and what they were asked to do to win games. Mailata, Dickerson, cam (even lane was still good but even he had games where it wasnt up to his standard which is rare when he has just 1) had issues this year. Again I don’t think it’s a coincidence that happened all at the same time. I said this last year before the season ended that IMO part of the reason I don’t think teams can repeat that 2000 yard rushing season is because it takes a big toll on your offensive line (as well as the back getting that many carry on the body).

The 8-9 season next year will get Sirianni canned

Its tough to " get in shape" when one cant walk.

Dickerson was already busted up from the grind of the superbowl run then hurt his knee again and just kept playing.

I maintained from the very beginning that coaches should have shut him down, PUP him then after the 6 weeks or whatever it is re evaluate and if hes still busted up shut him down.

He was useless this year and no amount of riding a bike was going to fix that.

Im not sure what his weight was is this year, he looks as fat as hes always been, hes just a big husky kid, his arm is wider than both my thighs together and hes got like zero muscle tone, hes just a big dude. I dont think weight is an issue I think his knees are the issue and losing 20 pounds isnt going to change that.

Its too bad because hes a special talent but his body, mainly his knees have failed him over and over again☹️ but then again Eagles knew the risks when they drafted him.

It might not. But it’s not gonna hurt him to lose that weight so we could be better endurance during the course of a game and over the course of the season. His knees are what they are but losing the weight isn’t strictly about just his knees holding up.

That said I look at the five eagles offensive lineman that played in 2024. Becton wasn’t here but he started for the chargers. 4 out of the 5 dealt with injuries all year. 4 out the 5 saw a sizable drop off in performance (Becton was awful in LA; might’ve coach too). Feels like that’s not a coincidence when all of them have it in the same year. It feels more like what you did in 2024 took a toll on these guys. They couldn’t stay healthy and they couldn’t get themselves back to the performance they have become accustomed to.

168 passing yards on 35 attempts. 4.8 YPA. That is some putrid efficiency.

Can’t wait till KP is gone. Need to give the guys someone who can improve the schemes and concepts.

Drops and penalties didn't help. But I hope we find someone that can scheme mismatches instead of running the same crap route tree and formations play after play. How many times this year did they play against practice squad LBs and didn't exploit them. No RB wheel routes ,Texas routes, exploiting with Goedert. nothing. How does Purdy play well with back ups .. Shanahan dialed up some great stuff to get mismatches. Hell even their FB was making plays
