I trust Howie and Lurie know what they're doing. If they feel Sirianni isnt the guy anymore and a change is needed, they will make it. They know first hand what he does as a HC. If they feel he doesnt do anything or offer anything, they'll move on.

Any qualified coaching candidate would A. see that this is 1 out of 32 of these jobs on the planet and B. also see that Sirianni is incompetent and carried by a great roster.

He definitely has no confidence in himself as a play caller, and I think that's one if his biggest flaws. It was nearly 5 whole years ago that the beginning of the season didn't go well for him as a play caller. He's seen so much more football now. He was not worse than Patullo at it even then, and there's no way he can think he's so bad he can't even call a single play. That's really what I don't understand.

Even if you think about it from the standpoint of 'having other responsibilities', if that fails, your season is over anyway. You don't have other responsibilities.

Siri won't do what Doug did. Siri stays. New OC comes in. Siri does the press conferences and locker room speeches. Everyone else runs the team. The QB position has changed in recent years and I can't fathom I'm ranking QB's based on how well they run through contact with physicality. But that was part of his game. When he's tacking on rushing TDs, picking up first downs and chunks of yards with his legs, forcing teams to cheat up and spy him while defending the pass...he's dynamic and can be effective.

If he's not a threat to run, all we're left with is a below average passer. And a below average passer who only passes is, by definition, a below average QB.

I’ve said from the beginning that I don’t believe either Hurts or Brown will age well. Maybe Brown, if motivated, can. I don’t see Hurts as a pure drop back passer ever unless he gets an elite playcaller/designer to make life super easy.

Vikas posted some weeks ago about Hurts' contract. I think they could get out sooner than 2 years but it'd be financially painful. In 2 years it becomes somewhat practical. At least that's what I remember. They need to consider Hurts when they're O Coordinator shopping.

Sirianni giving up influence on the offense is even more important than not fighting the firing of Patullo. As long as Nick has influence, it will hold back the new OC

Hurts is always near the top for 2 reasons.

1 - He is an awesome NFL QB

2 - Siri makes everything max difficult for him

Intended air yards (IAY) is how deep your average pass is thrown. A higher number there is the opposite of easy dink and dunk.

Hurts is always near the top there too.

The concept of Hurts struggling if things were easier has absolutely zero proof. Its literally a cult of weirdos that preach this.

What these people love to say is that Siri caters the offense to Hurts. No he does not. Its Siri's offense. Now its Siri and Patullo's.

Hurts had a quote this week about just how awful the offense was but he said it in code. He does not want any of this.

Doug did not build an offense for Hurts that Siri inherited. Hurts played in the Wentz Doug offense and ran around like young Randall for 4 games in 2020.

The only HC to ever work with Hurts on an offense is an idiot.

When good OCs were also in place, they worked around that idiot at times but the idiot was always there to screw things up like the second half of games in 2022 and 2025.

Actual OCs with whatever Nick's influence is have been good. Can't deny teo Super Bowl runs in that situation.

I love Dean, but I think you have to let him walk. He's not quite as good as Milton Williams (and won't get that kind of money), but it's a similar situation. Davis and Ojomo got to shine and the money just wasn't there.

Campbell is a first round pick. That money needs to be spent elsewhere. Davis, Carter, Mitchell, Dejean all need to get paid. And I'd like to keep Nolan Smith and Hunt.

I think the defense is going to have to subtract Phillips, Dean, and Adoree Jackson. Maybe find a reliable CB2 in FA.

And they need to draft a brand new OL+TE...no room to draft defensive players this year.

I didn't say they'd have trouble getting candidates. Just that it would be a bad look.

You don't fire coaches when all they do is win and win a SB, regardless of a talented roster or not. Unless said coach is a problem behind the scenes which I mentioned Lurie and Howie know what he does or doesnt do.

You fire coaches when they lose games and fail to make the playoffs.

But like I said, I could care less. I dont get attached to players or coaches. If they feel like moving on from him is the right thing to do then I'm behind it. Would seem strange but I'd be behind it.
