So that wouldn't be an improvementIt wouldn't.I literally love AJ Brown - as a receiver - the good version of AJ Brown. But he has something within him that is not good - puts himself above the team and QB - the very same QB and team that made him who he is (or was). That's not cool - sorry - not sorry. And maybe AJ needs to do some inner exploring - BUT THAT GUY NEEDS TO BE A MAN AND NOT DRAG EVERYONE DOWN WITH HIM.Get it?
3 hours ago3 hr You want someone who will never be a HC, has play calling experience and will make Goodell have a stroke?Jon Gruden needs a job. I am kidding, for the record.

The expectations weren't as high, especially since it was the first SB win in the SB era. They drafted poorly and didn't have good replacements. Bad drafting on defense, busts like Reagor and JJAW. They learned from it.This time around, Howie has drafted great since 2021 and actually built a championship defense mostly from the draft. Something we always dreamed of! They got a great DC in Vic Fangio. They have young stud players on defense. The core will be good for a long time. They are drafting good Linebackers, even a 1st round LB for the first time since 1970. The offense returned 10 of 11 starters. The state of the league made it wide open for them to win more games, get the #1 seed, and repeat as SB champs. They didn't need a genius OC. A decent, competent OC would have had this offense performing. The part I do agree with is expecting a SB win every year. It's hard to repeat. Many teams fans would love to be in the playoffs 5 years in a row and go to 2 SBs, winning 1. However, the way this played out was bad.I wouldn't mind if they had a good OC and played well and teams just beat them. But the incompetence and negligence from the coaching on offense is inexcusable. My issue is it was more accepting the decline of the the team from 2018 onward. Cause like you said they weren’t drafting well. And they were trying to do fixes strictly through free agency. So that decline was coming and eventually imploded in 2020.The difference here is this team has a lot of guys in their prime. This defense is stacked and is relatively young. This offense had everybody come back from last year besides one offensive lineman and a new OC. And this offense has been like pulling teeth trying to figure out their passing game since the Niners whooped their ass in 2023.I wouldn’t have been mad if they didn’t go out and win a Super Bowl this year. I know it’s hard to do that. Heck losing to the rams or Seahawks would really bothered me. They are very good teams. Losing games because of poor coaching, misusing talent and getting less from more has been an issue in the past. My biggest issue is their offense for the better part of 2.5 years now can’t figure out their passing game. In a Fing passing league. It’s consistently every year we’re talking about the same thing with the passing game. I watch other teams with inferior talent scheme up and design stuff to move the ball and it easier for passing game.Yet us with superior talent continuously is like trying to hammer a square peg into a round hole or pulling teeth. They twice this year went an entire half without completing a pass. You know how incompetent you have to be in order to achieve that. Even the crappy ass titans and jets didn’t manage to do that. The fact we got worse after the bye is alarming. They were 26 in EPA and 25 in success rate. tells me no one had any answers. Just basically hoping our talent would eventually take over and it never did

But the incompetence and negligence from the coaching on offense is inexcusable. That's exactly it and you nailed it. We all want to win every year, which is what we should do as fans, but if a team beat them that happens. Watching someone that inept throw all that talent in the trash is inexcusable. Not only did they return most starters most of the team was healthy in the playoffs. Two very rare things and the year was wasted.

Then you look back at this season and they were relatively healthy. Yet ran themselves into the ground with poor coaching and poor execution.

So...what you want is a good OC that will fix the offense and for them to win. So yeah if that happens he might get a HC job. The only way is for a unicorn who doesn't exist: a Fangio but on offense. A former HC who doesn't want to be a HC anymore and will stay as OC. Who is that?

I mentioned earlier today that not only do they have to tell Nick you don't get to pick the staff you have to be hands off. We aren't running your system anymore and the philosophy is up to the OC. He's not going to like it and maybe he goes, but that's fine with me. He is too involved and it's a predictable system that just doesn't work unless the OL is mauling people in the run game.

2 hours ago2 hr Nick is safe but I don't think it's crazy to think he's on a warm seat in 2026. This was a 2023 lite collapse, masked by 3 things. Defense not falling completely apart, Raiders/Commanders at a favorable part of the schedule and one good win against the Bills thanks to the first point of the defense not falling apart. You could even go farther back to the bye week and thank the defense for wins against the Packers and Lions. The games were what they were but they were dangerously close from starting 6-2 and finishing 8-9.

Obviously, on hindsight, I would have put 3 LBs on the field, and have Campbell spotting #44, wherever he was/went.You've never heard of Kyle Juscyzk? He's pretty much the only true FB left in the league and he's damn good at it. Had a big play in one of their super bowls too.

I can’t imagine giving sirianni and hurts a 3rd season just changing up the OC. Nick is back for 2026. However I’d love to know what lurie thinks about sirianni, hurts and the offense going forward.
