2 hours ago2 hr I think the Sirianni smoke is real. The only reason we'd hesitate to move on a veteran OC is if we're moving on from Sirianni, and want to see who the new coach would want in. I'm cool with him going, too. Everyone could see the problems this offense had, and neither he nor Patullo did a damn thing about it. F what happened to the offensive line - even if those injuries were destined to sink the offense we could have at least looked like we were trying to adjust to it. The fact that our two best years were when Nick was minimized the most with veteran coordinators should say it all.

Baltimore Ravens defense was fantastic. It’s one of the best defenses I’ve ever seen, especially in that postseason. However, the emergence of Jamal Lewis down the stretch of that season helped that team not have to play the snaps. The last 8 games of that year Jamal Lewis ran for 927 yards (i believe that’s the number it’s something close to that). He had a 4.6 yard per carry and was averaging over 100 yards a game (his 1st 8 games he had 437 yards and 4.1 yards per carry). While their offense was not carrying them. Their offense was effective enough running the football at that rate down the stretch so that their defense didn’t get consumed by being on the field too much.Even last night with the Texans, CJ Stroud was a turnover machine. But they had 9 total possessions. 7 where they chewed up some clocked, moved the ball and gave their defense chunks of rest. They had one 3 and out an a fumble after 2 plays. The rest of their drives they had 6 plays 49 yards, 7 plays 30 yards, 14 plays 92 yards, 9 plays 29 yards, 8 plays 61 yards, 7 plays 45 yards and 11 plays 81 yards. They also ran the ball very well throughout the course of the game. Not taking anything away from the Texans defense, won that game for them.
2 hours ago2 hr I feel like Josh McCown could be a nice snag if we don’t get an Ex-HC/proven OC (Kingsbury, Monken etc. Maybe Mike Shanahan at Indiana?I don’t think McDaniels fits the mold for Philly hires. Especially with him seemingly being high and vaping on sidelines during games.

2 hours ago2 hr Eagles offense broke a playoff record in that Niners game!4 drops on 3rd down.(Hard to believe that is a record)

Maybe he'll be less demanding this time around - although outside of Stoutland, I'm not particularly attached to our offensive staff (that's a Nick problem).

Ojomo himself said the defense needs to learn to close games out better.Would be nice if either EDGE could close out games. Nolan Smith really let us down this year.

The fact that our two best years were when Nick was minimized the most with veteran coordinators should say it all. They won't move on from him until there is a 2020 like disaster season. But I could see a hierarchy setup where the new OC is able to call the shots and it is completely his offense from a playcalling and assistant coaches standpoint. This would obviously strip Nick of a lot of power and odds are he wouldn't be okay with it. But that's two out of the last three seasons now where Nick's guy has crapped the bed and the other two seasons where the offense excelled were not internal hires. I don't think it's out of the question that we see some sort of hierarchy established where Nick becomes more of a "hands-off" CEO type. He can still do his culture shtick, remain the primary liaison to Howie and Lurie, be in charge of training camp, have some player input when it comes to roster construction, be involved in the gameplan the week leading up to games, etc. But when it comes to game day, it mainly falls on Fangio and whoever takes over the offense. My guess is that Nick had very little to do with the defense this season as Fangio is more than capable of handling that. I think I could see a similar system with the offense for 2026. The question will be "Well, what's even the point of keeping him then?" and the answer will be that this is ultimately a demotion since firing him would look optically terrible coming off a Super Bowl win. Or it can be presented as he's stronger in an overseer role rather than someone who is directly involved in decision making.

2 hours ago2 hr The fact that Patullo hasn't been fired yet and the team isn't in the process of scheduling interviews for a new OC is borderline inexcusable. I can only hope it's because Nick is in the process of pulling a Doug and the two sides are about to "mutually part ways."

But no, this is coaching putting those players on the field to run those plays. If you have players like Calcaterra who can't block then stop putting them on the field to block. That is a full on failure of coaching

I can't remember where I first saw this brought up but I do remember Les Bowen retweeting video clips of Goedert whiffing on blocks as Saquon ran behind him, it wasn't pretty.
