Yeah no sheet. It's like saying taking a knee is a safe bet when all you need to do is kill clock. I want to see the analytics that prove going for it was the right choice. I want the data.

I think someone said it was almost a toss up - within 5% I think?  It's up to the coach in that scenario.

Another weird one last year was Cincinnati. The score made it look like an easy romp but in that game, our defense never forced a single punt. There were moments in that game that the Bengals seemed to move the ball at will.

I think "40-6" has distorted the memory of what last year was really like.

honestly i see Cinci from last year as the opposite. The D struggled early, yes…but once the O got rolling it was a slaughter. The D got a pick and i can’t remember if they forced any other turn overs.

Analytics said punting it was the best choice by 5%

My gut tells me that the Eagles offered Blankenship a new contract and he turned it down. He took a huge gamble on himself, go a new agent and assumed he could get a better contract. He hasn't been bad this year, but nothing about his play has made me say he deserves a new contract. You bring him back because you don't want a hole at safety or you bring Dean back because he impacts the game and makes the defense better. Give me the guy who changes the way the defense plays.

I think Blankenship and Dean will be a smart culture move for a team like TEN, that has the $ for middle class players and needs their competence and leadership to rebuild a program.

That's such a BS copout. Does a computer get fired when you suck? "Analytics" doesn't substitute for having a feel for the game.

I highly doubt this magical percentage accounts for game situation, and I know it doesn't consider that the Eagles had shut down the Packers for 90% of the game.

At that point, the Eagles blew their chance to end the game on offense. The focus needs to be on making it the most difficult on GB as possible to tie the game.

Trading 5% to get AJ on the stat sheet, not worth the gamble for me…

Through 9 games who would you all say is the MVP of the team?

I’m going Davonta

DeJean

I'm surprised it's even that close. The conversion probability on 4th and 6 has to be in the 30's. And forfeiting 25 yards of field position should be worth at least 15 seconds of clock, if not more. I think this model is being generous, I'd bet other models have a larger disparity.

DeJean

Coop had 2 holding penalties last night, that were imperceptible. I mean he got beat on a crosser clean and the other was completed away from him, so neither had an effect aside from planting the seed that he had an off game.

Gonna be a tough offseason to manage. Dean and Smith and Carter and Davis…and Reed

With Q and DeJean on deck…but AJ pays for them i figure

I always get confused about 5th year options. Both Carter and Smith have to have theirs picked up by May 1. When is the sweet spot for an extension? Is it before the 5th year option is picked up or can Carter and Smith have their option picked up and then negotiate an extension before 2027?

I'm letting Blankenship walk at this point.

For as good as Davis has been, Ojomo is playing 65% of the snaps to Davis's 61% and he's playing them at a high level. Granted, Ojomo will need a new deal too, but cheaper than Davis.

Big question is, who impacts the running game more...Dean or Davis? I'm leaning Dean.

I think what we might end up seeing is a Phillips extension and a Nolan Smith trade before May 1. Love what Smith brings to the table from an energy standpoint, but he's fragile. Not that Phillips has been a beacon of health, but Smith has missed significant time so far. Phillips is 6-5 265 compared to Nolan Smith 6-2 238. The Eagles need some size on the edge. Both players stood out last night and would love to have both of them back. Just not realistic.

It's going to suck seeing some of these guys walk, but they can't keep them all.

Carter, Dean, Phillips might be the guys I make the priority right now.

Baun and Dean combined on a fumble the possession after the CJGJ interception.

I don't necessarily disagree but I think that Sirianni made a "feel call" in that scenario when he was likely told it was almost a toss up analytically.

Like I said - the call to go for it itself (although questionable) wasn't as questionable as the actual play call itself - meaning the play called should have been a very high % chance to just get enough for the 1st down to end the game - not a lower % TD bomb call, imo. You don't need a TD in that scenario - only a first down. My 2 cents.

I'd also be curious if this model is taking into account the field conditions of the game impacting the FG conversion rate. The "green line" isn't as far back as it would be in a normal game, hence the Packers would've needed to get even closer than usual, which I would think would make punting the better choice by an even higher margin. Not to mention our defense against their offense was a safe bet already as we'd seen play out for the entirety of the game.

You're looking at it wrong. We went from a 1.4% chance of losing to a 6.3% chance. The decision made it four and a half times likelier that we lose the game.

If you had to play Russian roulette, the choice is easy.

How this was not called is just beyond me. It’s blatant, obvious and probably cost the eagles a massive pick up

We may have an interesting decision to make about Jaelan Phillips this off-season

Patullo mostly sucks, but Hurts was definitely bad tonight. And that’s with me giving him a pass for his fumble. Great punch out by Cooper.

He had one drive where he threw 3 really ugly passes and I thought he had a concussion somewhere

I didn’t think the temp would affect Hurts w/o wind, but it looked like a cold hard football messed with his touch.

If he stays healthy I think they'll sign him. But as with Dean & Smith staying healthy is not a given

Umm, yeah. Still really a long injury history though…
