Wrong. He was traded.

But Howie has publicly stated that the trade would never have happened if Brown hadn't agreed to contract terms beforehand. He wasn't going to give up a first round pick for a one year rental.

Good news. I got an email back from VABeach_Eagle, he is ok. He has been tending to his mother's health as she's been in the hospital, and exhausted lately. He says he will be more available to log on

One of my big frustrations with defending Hurts and the offense

I think this is where you're confused. I don't think there's anyone here defending the offense as a whole. It seems there's almost unanimous agreement that the offense isn't performing well enough this year to inspire as much confidence in a repeat.

The disagreement is in regards to where the root cause of the problems lies. You have camps that are blaming one or more of Sirianni, Patullo, Hurts, and even the running game (e.g. OL injuries). Of those options, 2 are "new" to this season: Patullo and the injuries. Based on what has been put on tape through 10 games, I think you'd have a very difficult time trying to make a case that offensive play design (i.e. route combos) and play calling isn't at least half of the core of the problem, but I'm willing to consider other possibilities if there are enough all-22 clips to counter that claim.

One of my big frustrations with defending Hurts and the offense…if we had an elite offense and a, statistically, bottom 5 defense and we’re winning games 42-38….

There wouldn’t be some sentiment that the defense just knows how to win and leave them alone because they are doing enough to win. If teams were scoring on the eagles, this team would be under .500 right now. The offense isn’t playing defense. This is enough to win because of the defense.

It's week 12. They've had an elite defense for 2 weeks.

Oh so when he signed his 3 year extension, he was coerced into it against his will. Makes sense now, thanks.

Yes, but they are not at all effective on the road unless its cold and very windy. (unless your definition of effective is giving up lots of points)

They are most likely performing very well in man at home when the QB and the O-line can't hear.

I didn't say anything about home vs away splits in my post. I just said that their backups are performing well despite being asked to play so much man coverage.

So if he is off base and others in that room don't agree with him then where us the TO/Hugh confrontation? Nobody else in that room wouldn't say shut up? Honestly, I think he has more support than we know and D Gunn is right.

That doesn’t help AJs case though. That’s what cancers do. They create factions. There were TO supporters in the locker room too. And Owens was a nut bar that destroyed every locker room he was in.

With the exception of the first Giants game they have been elite since Week 5’s game against the Broncos.

They gave up 387 yards and 22 points to the Vikings.

That's how the 2025 49ers D is playing on a per week basis.

The 49ers are ranked 14 25 on D.

Nah they were a good defense but they have only had an elite defense for 2 weeks in my opinion. Where the offense doesn't need to even exist to win games. Which they haven't

Any truth to the rumors that Becton could get released (with a potential Eagles reunion)?

Interesting chart, I didn't realize there were that many cover 3 heavy teams running it on half of their coverages.

Help me with the column labels. I understand what C0 (Cover Zero) is. Man I also understand. Cover 2 is zone with two deep Safeties … is that right? What is Cover 3? Cover 4? Cover 6/8?

Ok... but, that doesn't mean he ended up here because he wanted to come play with Hurts.

The team has to roster WRs. You assume just because a WR signs a contract here its because of Hurts? Silly.

I don't know.

Jurgens upgraded to no status. He cleared concussion protocol and will play Sunday.

Could/would you change it to 20-7, as that was the score of the 1980 NFC Championship game.😀😀

W. Montgomery also had a huge game…

I meant it to be that, and recorded it in the spreadsheet as that. Bad typo on the post. Fixed.

Agree, but we haven't heard factions were created like with TO. I think people dislike how he is doing it but agree with him. Maybe some actual do like it because they don't want to speak up. Either way the only thing we have heard rumors of are people upset with Hurts. Not the guy causing drama in the media. Again, I think it's KP they are frustrated with, but with all the crap Brown has said we aren't getting those stories. That is interesting to me.

We heard the organization was trading him, but not about other players.

Glad Jurgens is playing. This is the NFL not the NBA.

Miss me with the load management talk

The NFL should really listen to this guy... he gets it. It's about the fans, and the NFL right now is alienating their bread and butter, in hopes of getting greener pastures in Europe and South America.

Any players complaining about AJ? I've heard them complain about the media asking about it but I hadn't seen anything about them complaining about him speaking out

Seems like it's just the fans bishing about it

I’m not happy. I want him to be 100% down the road or as close to that as possible. Playing hurt tomorrow risks that timeline and in addition he hasn’t been effective to date anyway.

IMG_1191.jpeg

Cover 3 is one deep safety, the 2 CBs rotate to the deep outside and the rest are underneath.

Cover 4 is quarters. 2 Cbs and 2 safeties each take a deep 1/4 of the field, the 3 LBs are underneath (plus an extra EDGE/DL if they only rush 3).

Cover 6/8, as I understand it, is some sort of hybrid between Cover 2,3 and/or 4. @we_gotta_believe or @BigEFly should be able to break that down more effectively.
