3 hours ago3 hr Very underwhelming coaching staff Eagles compiled at least on paper. Very little experience there. Sure a bunch of guys could prove to be the second coming, but if it doesn't go well no one's gonna be surprised by it. In fact, it failing is probably the most likely scenario given the inexperience.Very bitter about how the offseason has started. Hopefully free agency goes well. If it's a mirror image of last offseason, I will be pretty out on the 2026 Eagles. They can start by bringing Phillips and some key guys back.

He will have some level of flexibility, as always. The way we structure deals limits flexibility due to the inability to restructure guys through simple conversion of base salary to bonus (which is spread over 5 years) -- all our big deals already have minimum salaries. But Howie does this with large annual option bonuses and relatively smaller signing bonuses, so this makes the contracts very tradeable. To pick your personal favorite -- Jalen got a 5 year, $255 million contract with $110mm gteed at signing. But only $23.3mm of that was signing bonus (less than 10% of total contract), so you can trade him and minimize the dead cap to the unamortized singing and option bonuses (cutting him makes you take all the gteed money as dead cap, whereas trading moved the future gtees to the acquiring team). This is why we were able to move Wentz with a "relatively" smaller cap hit. Here's the top 5 QB singing bonuses

2 hours ago2 hr PHLY is really struggling to find things to talk about until free agency. This is the time of year I usually check out unless major news happens. They are good during the season and during free agency and draft. Unlistenable from mid Feb to before free agency and then nothing from post draft to training camp. Not their fault though, they are forced into the daily format.

Doing it this way means Dallas has to carry Pickens on the books at a full $28mm cap number all summer (since we all know Dallas won't do a deal until the eve of camp). If they just extended him with a 4 year, $120mm deal with a $40mm signing bonus, that cap number for 2026 would be below $10mm. So wasting $18mm in needed cap space to address defense.Dallas could create cap room by restructuring contracts like Dak, Ceedee and Tyler Smith, cutting/trading Clark. But...they won't. Don't believe me? Go back to the 2024 offseason -- they carried Dak at a massive $70mm plus cap number all summer and missed out on all FAs (e.g., Henry) because Jerry said he didn't have cap space. That would only make sense if you planned to move off Dak, but instead Jerry resigned him opening day of the season so every kickoff show led with the Cowboys. No idea why anyone believes that the Jones' want to win. They don't. You could have over $50mm in cap space, but Jerry is too cheap and stubborn.I am not saying you are wrong, history definitely supports your take. If they aren't going to get a deal done before Mar 3 the FT is the way to go. The 30m/yr number was mentioned when he first came to DAL, before he had the season he had last year. He is going to want and likely get more (he deserves it). Whether that is from DAL or another team is another story. IF they get a deal done by July 15th the new contract takes over and not the FT cost. The issue here really is that if they do not work out a contract quickly they lose the opportunity to aggressively go after other FA needs(defense) with the potential cap savings. This forces their hand more in the draft to pick based on need vs BPA. They are already in the draft for need boat, getting a contract done sooner rather than later allows them to potentially play in free agency and minimize(not eliminate) the "draft for need". Your points are 100% valid, I just refuse to lose my chill mental state until they F it up like you are saying they will 😂.There are a few ways this plays out:1. Get the deal worked out this week at the combine, or before March 11 so they can be FA players for much needed defensive help and allow more draft flexibility.2. They trade him and get a nice return for the 3rd and 5th they gave up to get him. Possibly another 1st rd pick (mid round) this year, TEN has a ton of cap room and could be a potential trade partner. GPs current trade value is estimated at what AJ's was when TEN traded him to PHI. Not what I want to see but I can understand it, locking up two WR1s is hard to justify, look at CIN.3. Get the deal worked out before July 15th and miss out on early FA targets. Not a good move.4. They do what you are saying and force him to play on the tag or sign him late (after July 15th)...An even worse move and bad business all the way around. It's just where I am as a DAL fan. Expect the worst FO decisions, hope and pray for the best, and that the old man finally sees the light. He moved quickly on JW, hopefully we are seeing a shift in the way the DAL FO has operated in the past. Hope is not a plan but it's all I have right now.Edit...BTW, DAL does win, they just don't win the important games, top ten in wins league wide over the last 25 or so years...just don't expect anything in the postseason when they do get there 😢

The first question - will Pickens sign the tag? I don't think he will, at least not yet. But they have to carry the $28mm in space since he could sign it at any moment. Any competent front office would get a deal done right as the league year starts so they can maximize FA. Dallas still needs to resign Aubrey, extend QW and then add a whole bunch on defense (also sign a RT if they dump Steele). You'll know if anything has changed by the start of the league year - do they restructure Dak, Ceedee and Smith and Osa. If they do and max out spending, then it's a new day in Dallas. If they don't - same old cheap ass Jerry.

If there was a year for Jerry to go "all in" this is the year in my opinion. One thing that has to be a breath of fresh air is this:"When you’re set up the way I am, that old mirror, that self-evaluation really is appropriate and has to be done,” Jones said via Watkins. "My way of doing things doesn’t work if I don’t change. I’m not successful, then I haven’t [changed]. There’s no other way.”We'll see if he's all talk......again.

If it's a mirror image of last offseason, I will be pretty out on the 2026 Eagles. They can start by bringing Phillips and some key guys back.I disagree. Around the NFL, there is a pronounced trend towards younger coaches and has been. (Except Tennessee that seems to have an obsession with bald coaches). Let’s look at the offense hires. Sure, Mannion hasn’t called plays as an OC but he spent 9 years with a clipboard and earphones on the sidelines and in the QB room before he coached. Mahaffery is green at TEs and run game but on the latter he has Singleton. Kuper has Greg Austin (two stints with Stout). Grizzard has experience at PGC and has OC experience too. Parks Frazier has experience as a QB coach as does his assistant. I have said it before and I will say it again. This is and will be Siriani’s offense. His philosophy is collaboration. There are remnants of what Moore added. There will be runs that look like Stout/Singleton. And ones that don’t. With the Mahaffery hire, I wouldn’t be surprised by a FB/HB in the mix. I can almost guarantee a blocking WR (probably Wilson), which comes from Nick, and an emphasis on TE blocking. There is clearly an intent to add some pieces from the new coaches’ experience. I strongly believe that Nick maybe went too far with his protect the ball philosophy a bit. I really believe the not throwing over the middle is driven by analytics more than Hurts. (Most likely pass to be intercepted is short over the middle). The lack of motion is probably more driven by slow playcalling than anything. Hopefully we see both adjusted. I will miss Parker but like the Kasper promotion. Curious on who will be the assistants for LBs.

This draft has a strength of edge when the Eagles are picking. Give me a rookie edge over Phillips and keep as many homegrown players with talent as you can.

They cant extend everyone. But according to this, they can do a lot more than most people are thinking. That may include Dean and or Phillips.Or it may include less of our guys but maybe actually making a decently big free agent acquisition.Anyway, here is the article. It explains things most of us already understand, but for those who dont, or understand to an extend but dont get the concept of why, its really good stuff.I also LOVE that it gives you the cash spending figure over the past few years so you can really see illustrated how they are spending like, over 100+ million above what the cap actually is. So for anyone complaining about Howie needing to let Milton Williams go because he keeps kicking the can and ran out of money- it shows why those people are wrong to think his strategy is anything but 100% positive.Bleeding Green NationA Deep Dive Into the NFL Salary Cap and Howie Roseman’s E...Your best source for quality Philadelphia Eagles news, rumors, analysis, stats and scores from the fan perspective.@vikas83 @paco @LeanMeanGMThat's precisely why trading Jalen Carter might make the most sense, even if it's the toughest pill to swallow. They can't keep EVERYONE, but there are a lot of very good players who they could keep if they didn't tie a monster contract in to Carter. Not saying he doesn't deserve it, but I just think the return could help the team just as much.
