Kind of surprised Dean, Blankenship, or Goedert hasn't signed yet. I thought for sure they were guys who could sign right away, especially Dean.

So is the thought that with a full offseason, Michael Carter could be a S for us?

Ok yeah he makes sure to give those details so seems accurate.

Wasn't it better to cut him outright though?

Domino effect hasn’t begun yet. No big names at their positions has signed to set the market. Notice everyone signing now is of the same positions: Centers and Punters and RBs and iOL

Now that Pierce signed, Evans got his market and Nailor got his market and Wan’Dale got his market

Let’s see what Devin Lloyd or Tremaine Edmunds go for, then Dean will be shortly after

Makes sense but Kam Curl did sign a few days ago and Coby Bryant signed already so there is some high level safeties off the board.

I don't think that they do view it differently. I would be beyond stunned. Every single beat reporter to a man has said they likely will focus heavily on OL in the draft and the players they've met with so far in the process points to that. Obviously the board has to fall their way, but I think ideally they take two OL in the first few rounds in April. However, if Edge is their top need heading into a draft with a really good Edge class then maybe they go Edge.

I would like a return to focusing on the lines with their top picks. Outside of QB, those positions are the highest paid. CB might make sense too but idk that you want to go that route with Coop and Mitchell contracts coming up

No, saves money to redo it. Roll his small guarantee into the new deal. Save extra $1.384mm.

With Phillips gone, they may have some budget available to keep one of these guys. Preferably Blankenship.

I feel like Jennings is a FA. They letting him go for old Mike Evans?

He is and they are losing Aiyuk. They really one had Pearsall and Demarcus Robinson

I would be fine with Goedert because it would give them more cap flexibility. He is still an above average TE.

Phillips going means they expect to keep Carter. This is good news. Phillips is overrated anyway.

Reed was always the most likely to me because Vic seems to love him, and he is the QB of the secondary. But I wouldn't go over $10mm AAV.

@vikas83 @greend

We need to do the math on the Phillips contract and find out if I owe you drinks.

Have to get it done before his contract voids tomorrow.

Me too, they have to start getting back to that after taking a couple offseasons off of it to address the back 7. Just wonder what the Eagles prioritize in round 1 if they aren't able to add an Edge in free agency.

Actually, Likely and Otton were already signed which somehow I missed until I just looked at a free agency tracker. That leaves Goedert as the best FA TE left on the market.

Tight end options drying up fast. As I said above I somehow missed that Likely and Otton signed already and while I wasn't interested Bellinger was an option I suppose. Pretty much down to Goedert, Njoku, Okonkwo, blocking specialist Kolar, and dumpster diving with Jonnu or Ertz.

IMO, that’s a terrible contract Carolina handed out and I applaud Howie’s restraint.

I’m not dealing until the comp pick is official because they always find a way to disappoint, but I suspect I’ll owe you guys something good on this bet.

With the money allocated to Phillips now available, bring back Goedert, Dean, and Becton.

Draft a DE in the 1st.
