Yeah I don't really have interest in trading a day 2 pick for Greenard and then paying him a new deal. Guy is about to turn 29.

It's "supposed" to be a deep draft at edge. Maybe it's time to invest there twice in their first four picks. Get some young guys who will be cheap and under control for a few years.

Yeah it’s risky but I’d draft and see which of our DEs emerge to pay if either. Can make an in season trade if they both disappoint

DE and OL heavy.

This is a large 1 year prove it deal too. Jackson was better last year. At 1/6th the cost.

Incorrect. Jackson was absolutely not better last year. Further the contract is loaded with incentives.

NextGen stats:

"Riq Woolen allowed just 0.5 yards per coverage snap in man coverage last season, the fewest among outside cornerbacks. Woolen also forced a 31.3% completion rate playing man in 2025, the lowest among players at his position."

probably more evidence Goedert is likely to come back

This is why I had no interest in adding Chubb.

Started with the truth…

They are taking Coop in RD1 just because they like the name

Wasnt it a shoulder issue that dropped Campbell in the draft?

Im guessing the eagles knew he would get surgery after the season.

I wonder if he will be a better pass rusher next year with full use of both arms.

He's light years better than what we had at CB2 on a prove it deal. This isnt a stiff hip Ringo clone.

I want to say I saw him ranked as high as 5 of all the FA CBs this year. He excels in man coverage. He’s gonna be an upgrade.

Whatever we pay for Greenard if we do I guarantee people will complain about it.

Just for the sake of being fully transparent and consistent I will say it ahead of time if they end up acquiring him. Trading a 2nd for him would be utterly horrendous. Trading the Jets 3rd for him would be an overpay but not horrible. The 3rd round comp pick for him is perfectly fair. Anything less than that would be a great move.

Wasn’t this known last year when he was drafted? Always thought the plan/strategy was to try to get him through his rookie year then take care of the shoulder this offseason.

I'm not the biggest fan of the Woolen signing but anyone saying he isn't an upgrade to Adore Jackson and a legitimate one at that needs to lay off the grass.

BG is back. DE solved

This off-season absolutely blows so far. Obviously I love BG but he is cooked.

Would be nice if you guys were right…I see it in a complete 180 the way you guys do.

If this were a situation where they knew surgery was necessary to take care of it…why not do that right after you draft the guy and get him started on the right track? I realize they needed him early in the season until Dean was ready, but you don’t jeopardize the future of a first round pick to throw him out there unhealthy to start for half a season until your incumbent starter is back.

I’d be far more concerned this is something he’s not shaking.

Let's hope so because at this point it's down to Goedert and Njoku when it comes to legit number 1 TE's on the market without major question marks. I still can't believe they brought back Calcaterra. I'm sure he's a nice guy but I have to keep it real, he is probably the worst player they have kept around and actually used in a significant role over the last decade.

The comp 3rd makes sense but also the contract needs to be below Phillips be a reasonable amount. Otherwise you could have just overpaid Phillips and called it a day

If it was that big of a concern they would have brought back Nakobe. It's not good news but I seriously doubt it's something to get overly concerned over.

Hes not the best free agent on the market this year. But he has the highest upside of any free agent available this year.

He has a bunch of red flags, but Im usually optimistic until proven wrong. Im excited to see him in our secondary.

I agree. I'm not giving Greenard more than 20-22 million a year. He has zero guaranteed money left on his deal with two years remaining so they would be doing him a massive favor by re-negotiating his deal and giving him a bunch of up front money.

Woolen will do more for the defense than Phillips or Blankenship did.  Maybe not Nakobe.

As far as I’m concerned (as of today), the defense has a major upgrade at CB2, a modest downgrade at LB, a major downgrade in DE depth, and a major downgrade at safety.  I say DE depth because I think Phillips is extremely overrated at this point and the ongoing development of Hunt and Smith will render the Phillips loss a depth downgrade.  So I don’t think it will take a ton to make up the ground in the edge rotation and at S before the season starts.

Considering the way they put Jurgens and Dickerson in harms way, you may be right. But Id like to believe that a competent medical staff didnt jeopardize him in any way.

For instance, if it was a torn labrum, lots of players play through those every year. So itd be pretty safe to have him fill the gap for Dean, and just take care of it now.

Agree other than the first comment. Woolen could EASILY do more for the defense than those guys, and he could also EASILY just be an upgrade over Adore Jackson who was mid at best. There is so much to like about Woolen but there is also a lot to be concerned with and he just doesn't strike me as the type of guy that Vic is going to like.
