They were 26th in the NFL in scoring % per drive but 19th in scoring offense. Both below average marks, one significantly, one slightly. One could argue their defense helped them to bridge that gap. 24th on 3rd down (and I can't find this stat but I recall them being bottom 2-3 in 3rd and long). 24th in yards.IMO, the only thing that they could be even remotely considered average at are pass protection (slightly above average), red zone offense (very good) and turnovers(excellent). IMO, they were unequivocally below average in every other way.19th in scoring offense is in the middle (average) range. I didn't include red-zone and turnovers as those are built into EPA/DVOA.The offense's regression points are turnovers and red-zone %. The optimism is play-calling and better OL health. Lane missed more than half the year and Landon/Cam couldn't move. If the OL sucks again, then sure the offense will be average to bad again.

That's like a fantasy football trade offer.Tbh i think they were probably thinking we can get Aj for 2nd + then trade away Adams to recover some of the draft picks. I mentioned 13 and Adams for Aj. I don’t think the rams would do that and I’m not sure the eagles would want to deal Aj to the rams but 13 is a nice pick and allows a young WR drafted to not be asked to be no. 2 guy behind smith from day 1
20 hours ago20 hr Fully anticipating the draft to look something like this. Offensive heavy. Probably an edge rusher/D-Lineman in round 2 or 3.

And anyone they draft for offense probably isn't going to do much to help them be better this year. The offense is basically stuck in the mud as a bad unit.Well first, I was mainly responding to you saying people aren't discussing the offense. They are. A lot.Second, what would you have them do on the roster? They are stuck with contracts on everyone except Steen, who actually played well. They did make one contract move with Dickerson. The main issue on offense was coaching. The second issue was O line health. They got all new offensive coaches. They simply have no money to sign free agents, so they need to draft O line & hopefully TE. Most people expect this year an attempt to see if the new coaches fix the offense. If the coaches are good but players are still not performing, once it's financially feasible they will be gone. It's a prove-it year for everyone on offense.

He might not be an All Pro, has issues staying healthy and seems to have lost his ability to block but he is still a great receiving tight end when available and thrown to.Still fully expect then to get a TE in the first 4 rounds of the draft that they hope can develop into a capable starting TE.
19 hours ago19 hr I think next up we'll see something on the Greenard front one way or another. If they can agree to trade compensation I think he'll be an Eagle. I think Brown stuff is dead until June, and if the asking price is not met by then, he'll stay and they'll run it back one last time and try to get their 2nd ring in 3 years.2 minutes ago, LeanMeanGM said:Kinda weird how everyone else in the league has next to no interest in GoedertI thought it would be more weeks ago, but the tea leaves started to say there was very little interest in him. Once you saw how little TEs on the market who were much younger than him were getting and heard insiders call other TEs "The best TE on the market" it was clear they were getting that from somewhere and teams around the league didn't think very highly of him. Mentioned this in early March:On 3/5/2026 at 10:06 PM, Sack that QB said:I wonder what Goedert’s market is gonna be. It’s free agency so all it takes is one team to overpay. But he really regressed in blocking last season, had a lot of TDs but didn’t have a lot of yards. I think there was a noticeable drop off and he’s over 30. TEs in that profile typically don’t get paid a ton and it’s a deep TE free agent class.

Has missed a bunch of time with injuries over his entire career. Last 6 years he’s missed 2-5 games every year. he’s hard to rely on every week. He had a lot of touchdowns this year but that’s not really been indicative of his career overall. Prior to this year avg 3.5 per year. Lastly he regressed as a blocker this year. Imo his regression as a blocker this year actually hurt him and the amount of TDs feels like an outlier

Historically, he's not a red zone monster, although he did catch a lot of uncontested schemed out TD's last year.So if you overlook one year of 11 TDs, you are left with a TE that apparently doesn't block anymore, you can't trust to stay healthy, and will be good for about 550 receiving yards. That's replacement level TE right there and it's the reason no one bit in FA.So the reunion made sense. He was basically offered nothing and sticks around another year so we don't have to freak out about TE, all while diffusing his cap hit.
19 hours ago19 hr Unless Jalen Carter is getting signed this offseason, wouldn't it be better to eat the $20m Goedert hit now rather than kick it into future years that we'll be trying to re-sign Carter/Q/Coop?
19 hours ago19 hr If they get Greenard, or Crosby, they're fully loaded for next year and that's before even drafting.
19 hours ago19 hr I thought he didn’t necessarily fit the scheme anymore because we need TEs that can block? This feels more sentimental than anything

19 hours ago19 hr Like it! Goedert is a good player with a good relationship with Hurts. All TEs are on 1-yr deals so drafting one is still on table. I'd think they'd like to upgrade Calc. Get the Greenard deal done
