Sources report they were impressed with his interview. Asked why he got into coaching he said:

"Never made it as a wise man. I couldn't cut it as a poor man stealing. Tired of livin' like a blind man. I'm sick of sight without a sense of feeling."

Asked about his player's alignments during a recent botched play he brought out a still from the all-22 and responded,

"Look at this photograph, every time I do it makes me laugh"

Why releasing?

Contract. He would have been around $31M on the cap. They save $7M.

So how bad of a Oline draft is this?

A lot of OGs, but I think where we are in the 1st round there's the usual mixed bag of talented projects at OT and not a ton of depth beyond that. I wish we had Stoutland for this purpose, as I prioritize player development over pushing the margins of run game scheming. This offensive staff will likely be gone in a year with the vets we have in place (up or out), but this OL draft might set our course for years.

In terms of TE (and WR for that matter), I like the options. We have prospects of all types, so I'm more focused on finding the right guy for the right role on Day 2.

I wouldn't mind trading up if there's a tackle that can replace him

You can trust Howie to do that, but sometimes Q falls into your lap.

Yeah the 1st round is where you want to get a difference maker. BPA at a relative position of need, hopefully not a reach.

🤣

Lomu would be that dude at OT in my opinion. But that's likely trading up from 23 to around 15 or so to have a chance at drafting him.

AJ will only take part if he is traded by that point.

@hputenis tugs it to doubles luge

At what point in life do these toe pointers decide, "I'm going to practice nonstop, sacrifice everything, never miss a work-out, and I'm going to set goals to reach the highest level at the Olympics...............as a bottom in doubles luge?"

The Simpsons debuted on April 19th 1987 on The Tracey Ullman Show.

This was 18 1/2 years after the drunken Santa snowball incident.

Its now been 38 1/2 years since that debut.

57 years removed from the snowballs.

57 years before the snowballs was 1911, which was 2 1/2 years before WWI started.

So WWI was closer to the snowballs than the snowballs are to now.

In 1968, the year of the snowballs, Chicago had not one but two riots.

In 1963 Dallas killed a president.

FWIW, The Toronto Maple Leafs have not been to the Stanley Cup Finals since before the snowballs at Santa.

The Packers were the only team to win a Super Bowl when the snowballs were thrown.

The AFL and the NFL merged a year and a half later.

@NOTW both of your prospects are far better blockers than Calcaterra

Yup - put the players in tiers and then you're usually picking for need within those tiers...

Cleaning house and starting fresh. Now to see if Tuh-Tuh-Tua is given another shot to start.

I don't know why Steelers would do that if they are trying to squeeze one more year out of Rodgers

Not seeing how a CB that's a feee agent next year is helping when we have a slew of existing players needing extensions including two at CB already who will be getting top dollar.

Getting a 3rd for Tanner would be great, my guess is it doesn't happen without us throwing a decent pick back.

Idk but I’d definitely do it if offered.
