Listening to Moving The Chains yesterday they mentioned Dean as a guy for the Bengals to bring in to shore up the middle of their defense.

Yeah i could see that. Going to be a nice market for him. In a FA class that’s not great so someone will pay him

Big money

whoa

That contract seems insane.

Way too much for Jordan Davis and makes me wonder about Carter now. If they chose Davis over Carter Howie has lost his marbles.

Should have kept MW at that price

I'm happy to have him here

Maybe maybe not. He chose a more stable individual and perhaps MO next to him and the picks they can get for Carter.

That seems like a massive overpay

Curious to see how this extension is structured especially since he was heading into playing under his 5th year option.

Good for JD. He worked his ass off and did everything right. Good leadership in the locker room too. This makes the Carter situation a little more interesting.

Contracts always look big early on and then way better later. Glad they got it done early.

Davis got in shape and played extremely well last year and as a true NT and is a great culture guy. That's the value give a take a million or 3. Not sure why anyone would think he'd be signing for 20 in this market.

Waiting to see how his contract is structured. But this feels like paying him for what he was in 2025 and what they believe he can be going forward. I think the stretch with Carter out and him really stepping up may have added some extra money on this extension.

Eagles will pay Carter as well. Not sure why everyone is freaking out. He has 2 years left on his deal including the 5th year option. Howie will get something done

Jordan Davis' weight to me is a far greater risk than Jalen Carter's work ethic or character.

Love it. Always been a believer and defender of his when even last offseason people wanted to move off of him and not 5th year option him.

I doubt Carter goes anywhere. You can find another Milton/Moro

I agree with the bet that JD has his best football ahead of him. I'll let Howie worry about the money.

I like Davis. I really hope he continues his growth & conditioning.

I think Clint Hurtt is really good for him. He called him a leader of the defense in the Hard Knocks show.

Glad they got that deal done. Excited to see what else before Wednesday

Jordan Davis' weight was an objective problem. He couldn't get it under control until this season. Credit to him for doing so, but people who battle weight and eating issues usually battle them for life. Maybe Ozempic changes that. Is that even a legal substance in the NFL? Not sure it is.

I don't think Carter's work ethic is an issue and I don't think his character concerns are much of a concern at all. He's a little hot headed, but the worst thing he did was spit at a guy who spit in his general direction. If that's the worst thing you did as a player then I consider character issues overblown. Yeah he's had some moments where he talks trash. Know who else does? The damn head coach. Not exactly setting the best example for his players there. At least Carter on the field walks the walk when he talks the talk. I've never been all that concerned about Carter from a character perspective.

Frankly, if they trade Carter, it kind of feels like more worried about paying him his second contract and off the field. Maybe (just a theory) it even goes back to when they drafted him thinking were going to use him on his rookie contract then flip them to get as many picks back as possible if he hit. Maybe it is his shoulders they are concerned about and they don’t want to take that risk. However, if that’s the case, I’m guessing around league circles they hear the whispers and they’re gonna have the medicals to see what the eagles belief could happen. So you’re probably gonna get even less than what you think for him knowing that and needing to give him an extension.

Imo i still think Carter is extended. I’d be surprised if Carter, Q, DeJean and hunt aren’t all eventually extended when the time comes.
