Makes sense until Vic only plays JD, JC and Ojomo, and folks are calling the rookie a bust because he gets limited opportunity.

Played #94 who was up and down. Had some good moments. #95 played against Washington at the end and got pushed around. Did not look ready which was a surprise.

Young looked like garbage too until he got some extended snaps after JC went down midseason - but this wasn’t by design, Vic would’ve had DT4 playing only a handful of snaps barring injury.

In fairness with Robinson he was an older prospect and been in college football for 6 years. His biggest jump was in his 6th year. There were always concerns he may have benefitted from being in college for 6 years. Vic does that but Robinson also didn’t look great when he did get snaps.

Issue for Robinson was Carter got hurt. Was an opportunity to get more snaps as he missed time. Byron young wound up looking better than Robinson.

I completely understand the Eagles being scared to give Carter 40M+/Y given both the off-field history + shoulders. He also got a defacto suspension in game 1 of the year.

Great player, but there is real risk.

The Vanilla Gorilla being DT5 is on himself, but that doesn’t really change Vic running a 3-DT rotation.

I am happy for Jordan Davis...he really showed up for himself this year on the field and off. I think he is emerging as a team leader which is so needed if the Eagles want the best out of Carter.

Maybe a Capuchin instead?

3 DT rotation expanded when Carter got hurt. Imo Young outplayed Robinson.

Vic’s usage is a separate issue. That said I’m not sure Vic thinks much of Robinson (so far) to want to use him. Imo if the eagles selected a DT early in the draft probably have a 4 man rotation they did with Carter, Milton Williams, Davis and Ojomo in 2024. Where had Carter playing 79% of snaps, Williams 48%, Davis 37% and Ojomo 37%. Heck even booker in 2024 got 16%.

There is nothing of substance to suggest the Eagles are scared to give Jalen Carter a new deal. I will be shocked if he doesn't have one before the season, if not before training camp.

He is the appropriate heir to Brandon Graham. Super energetic Lunchpail Glue guy

One 4 on one AP exam? Rickey, that’s not very impressive. I can’t think of a single honors student I know of that only had a single AP score of 4.

Good to see JD got that contract extension; now is the time to show why got the money.

Big fan of Jordan Davis and very happy for him, but this was an overpay for a NT that barely plays over half the snaps. Can't remember the last time Howie got taken for a ride in a contract negotiation like this.

Let's hope JD keeps his weight down and keep his play up.

Scoops is saying he is available. Must be something the Eagles don't like.

Howie listens to everyone. In that sense, every player is available. But the price may be astronomical. I would not be surprised at all if the Pats offered a 1 and a 3 for AJ and Howie responded with give me a first, a second and Gonzales (someone posted that as a joke).

I don’t agree with this. I think the cap has gone up so much and we’re not realizing how stagnant the DT market has become. Chris Jones is still the highest paid DT in the world at 31m$ (a contract signed 2 years ago), when in 2022 Aaron Donald was the highest paid D-lineman of any kind at…. 31m$.

So the DT market hasn’t changed in 4 years while the rest of the Dlinemen have ballooned to over 40m$ a year. I would compare it to WR where guys like Alec Pierce are gonna make this or more, but even that isn’t apples to apples because Micah Parsons is making 47m$!

So yes he’s a NT and not a 3-tech, but Jordan’s contract AAV is 8.6% of the salary cap the year he signed the extension. In 1998 when the Bears extended pro bowl NT Ted Washington, it was for 10% of the salary cap. In 2011, the Ravens signed Halot Ngata to 10.1% of the salary cap. In 2022, when the Bucs extended Vita he got 8.8%. In 2023, Dexter Lawrence got 10%.

At a 301(!)m$ cap, 26m was the appropriate price. I may be in the minority, but I’d rather have him than Milt who got the same last offseason. Not having a quality run stopping NT sucks, and we learned with Fletch and Javon.

Wendy's vs Geno Smith.

Now Nick Lachey vs Bengals lol

Maxx Crosby is the best run stopping DE in football. Hendrickson is the Haason Reddick of pass rushers. He was never worth that
