I don't see how DAL can afford to keep Aubrey. A local writer is saying multi-year contract @ 7.5m AAV, no way I sign a kicker long term like that, could turn into a head case in quick fashion, then you are stuck with a kicker who has the shanks. We saw a slight glimpse of that late in the season:

AJ is an annoying selfish pain in the ass but his cap number is stupid and he’s already done this every year so it’s not like they aren’t used to it. The fact that he reportedly asked for a trade several times makes it a difficult situation though.

The constant reports about Jalen are concerning though. Seems there is a report like this every season as well.

I do think if he wants to be gone the Eagles will not wait around. They will trade him.

That's something that would've been leaked somehow during the season, if it really was multiple times. Not that it's out of the question that he would, I just don't believe he did.

I said this during in the season and I still feel this way. I think there’s frustration with how he’s being used and how the offense is because it affects his bottom line on what his next contract’s gonna be. Believe he only has $4 million guaranteed after this season. So he needs a contract extension. The line of demarcation for the Eagles was always at the end of 2026. He was going to be 30 and likely not paid by the eagles. So not being utilized as much and not putting up the numbers, He knew it was gonna affect his bottom dollar.

So I am not really surprised if he asked to be traded because the Eagles are not giving him an extension. Anywhere he gets traded they are very likely working on an extension and he gets more guaranteed money in his pocket. Plus, he’s in a better situation for his numbers to look better.

This next season will all hinge on Nick. He's a rah rah coach and nothing that special. we need a SOLID OC that's gonna take charge of the offense and Jeff and Howie need to let him do his thing. I want to hope that Nick is on somewhat of a short leash this year but Im not that naive

Kellen Moore was allowed to do that - we need another KM type OC and this time we need to keep him.

If you wanna add to this, the Phillies have known since he signed his extension last time, they had five years to have a succession plan for Jt Realmuto. We are sitting five years later and they still don’t have one for the foreseeable future. The best one they had they traded away for Brandon marsh. Which I still argue they should’ve gotten more than just Brandon marsh trading away a top 50 prospect based off how much top 50 prospects have gotten over the past couple years. O’hoppe has not been a good MLBer. But at the time you were trading him, he had excellent value around baseball. He was a well thought of hitting catcher. Then got a guy who they had to fix who still has the same issues and can’t play CF. Furthermore Tait was a catcher. They traded him, but he was never gonna stay at catcher based off scouting reports. He was always gonna go to 1st/DH.

So they knew this off-season was coming for five years and had no real plan for after Jt Realmuto was done.

As far as why we didn't hear about the trade requests during the season, it would be kinda silly for him to publicly put it out there he wants off a team that's 6-2 at the trade deadline. There was certainly a lot of smoke around the trade deadline though, so it wouldn't surprise me if behind the scenes it was known he wouldn't mind a trade.

And to your last point, it's a bit odd that once Lurie talked to him around or shortly after the trade deadline, he went radio silent and didn't cause any issues at all besides the playoff game. With how he handled the post playoff game and leaving a signed jersey for Cooper and Mitchell, it wouldn't shock me if the message given to him was they will see what they can do in the offseason but play good soldier in the meantime.

I’m just saying people aren’t gonna like the solution I’m about to give but if you gave him an extension and he gets more guaranteed money there’s a chance he’s magically happy. That said it’s not a very good plan or a smart plan given his age and potential decline. Plus potential/being a pain the ass

Listened to the Eagle Eye podcast and I'm so tired of hearing that if we had a head coach who was a play caller then we'd have no problems. We literally had that with Doug and we still had a problem when Reich left. Even Shanahan & McVay had some fluctuations when they lost good right arm guys and they both struggled to keep DCs. And Andy Reid now is struggling with his offense and he is that genius offensive guy.

Obviously an offensive genius head coach who was very good at play calling and being a head coach would be amazing but it's both rare and fleeting.

Who says he doesn't? The guy said the things most of us were thinking and they ended up being right. Honestly, I like the guy after watching the video they put out a few weeks ago. I think a new OC will be enough to intrigue him and if not they can always deal him closer to the year/during the year. Has to be after June 1 anyway. Let's see what happens, but he hasn't said he doesn't want to be in Philly and that is a guy who says what he thinks. I'll worry about sit-ups in the driveway when it happens.
