If there's one thing I know, it's that Hurts has never underthrown a receiver.

This cracks me up. What more is there to say? How is it an entire article (which I didn't click)?

If you are burning your team to the ground and collecting picks to rebuild, wouldn't this be the PERFECT person to trade? You got him for a mid 3rd and he's produced well above that range that you can likely get a 2nd or better for him. He is in the last year of his contract and are you really holding on to a RB who is going to command a decent second contract?

He’s not wrong. For everything else folks say about Hurts, his deep ball is elite. Waiting for he underthrows comments. Key to deep balls is a pass that allows the receiver to adjust to the ball. Shows me folks that have never tried to cover a deep pass.

Little production, and bigger games came against weak competition.

Amazing measurements and combine but buyer beware.

If I owned a sports team I would have an organizational rule/mandate that whenever a player asks to be traded, we will not trade you, for any reason, with no exceptions.

You might take the hit in the short term with the philosophy, but you'd win in the long term. Once players in their respective sport realizes they can piss and moan and hold out and cause drama or sit at home and not play and no matter what, they won't get what they want... players would realize that it's not even worth bothering trying to F with this organization and I'll just show up and play.

If more organizations did this, sports would be better off.

That's one way to view it. Another is he could give the same bland, standard answer that he's excited to play with him, respect what he's done vs debating a panel, pushing back on resistance to his point, and praise Hurts with superlatives.

Meh

That's cool and all but, even if he hates Hurts he sure as heck wouldn't say that outloud at this point

The only people who hate Hurts are fans of the other three NFC East teams and white men over the age of 50.

No question that it is Hurts' best throw. Saying that Mahomes was underthrowing the ball and that resulted in less opportunity to score than Brown might have with Hurts is maybe not the best take.

@HazletonEagle and @eagle45 are in their 40s. I like Hurts.

Best OL in the draft

Any word on how Micah Morris is doing at UGA pro day? Surprised he's not getting more love in this draft process.

No need to quote race baiters, bro

Whatever Hurts' strengths and limitations are as a passer, the Eagles need to get back to their identity of one of the best running teams in the league, which in turn will give Hurts better looks downfield to make those throws -- underthrown or otherwise ph34r

Whether Hurts will be used in that running game as a weapon or not will be something to watch for in 2026. IMO, he was far less dynamic as a runner than in past years. I don't think the Eagles should need him to be that; my preference is Hurts takes off on 3rd downs when necessary to move the sticks and sustain drives -- get down, get out of bounds and minimize hits.

I'd also like to see the Tush Push mothballed. Both our C and LG played like Betty White last season, and I suspect as teams get better at defending it the wear and tear on their bodies increases.

He won't, and shouldn't be due to the reason you laid out. The dude is slow as hell now, he's getting hawked down by 300 lb DTs. He's absolutely useless laterally, so all he can do is take QB draws and run straight or scramble on a broken play. Maybe he scrambles more this year, I don't have any metrics but it seems like he rarely scrambled last year and maybe it's because there were less man coverage looks so he didn't have the defenses backs turned to him as often

Is he athletic/nimble enough to play in the wide zone is my only question...

No I'm not!

Delp is that dude.

Would draft him RD2 if he's still there.

And dump the contents of Calculator's locker immediately thereafter

I'm insulted. Why would you say I'm in my 40s?
