We should probably not forget the Texas OT that the eagles got last year was supposed to be a 1st round talent if he had stayed another year. Im not sure why when the eagles feel they have a 1st round talent project OT that theyd be wanting to draft another the very next year. I would think theyll give Williams a chance.

Probably because they have seen him up close and personal for a year. If they think he's the next RT to take over for Johnson, then they know that... but they also know if the opposite is true.

I don’t usually get personal on here, but your post hit me. I’ve been where you are. I’ve had a couple suicide attempts in my past and spent time in inpatient treatment afterward. I’m still in therap

No draft choices should have Cam Williams in mind. He's a pure lotto ticket.

Not much new stuff in here but one noteworthy point.

"The Eagles have no plans to extend Hurts this offseason, NFL sources said"

Currently he is Schrodinger's cat.

Do you think maybe he didn't do anything special at the Combine or his pro day was maybe because he didn't participate in either because of a knee injury he sustained against Clemson in the College Football playoffs?

He showed up at almost 6 foot 6 317 pounds (supposedly looked solid), had massive arm length 34.5 inches and big hands 11.38 so he definitely did great in the only thing he did do

As I recall, he did poorly against Ohio State, looked vulnerable to outside speed. That’s was a year and a half ago so, with a year of Stoutland, who knows? I certainly don’t. I think he’s mobile enough for the stretch/ OZ run game - something I doubt with Myles Hinton. I’m thinking they’re going to try Hinton at guard.

Because why not?

I should mention that I suck at this whole mock draft thing. However, after watching the vid that @HazletonEagle posted about Malik Benson, whom I now want, I decided to give it a shot.

So he is both alive and dead?

I suspect that more likely than not, a developmental OT with 1 year of NFL experience, coaching, and strengthening is going to be better than the developmental OT without those things that you have to use a 1st round pick on.

I think the best option will be that if Williams isnt cutting it, they draft one in the 1st round next year when there should actually be some good ones available.

Lets go! Now down just 5-2 against the Nationals while wasting a Sanchez game.

This was a rare occurrence of me attending a game and our team actually steps the F up. worthy

Big walk off for the Rook..

Back to back games having a Rookie come up big. Given it's the Phillies, I'm not use to this.

Barnett is a nice sleeper with your last pick. I dont know Barton or Eastern. Looks nice.

Benson is much more preferrable than someone like Antonio Williams who the eagles are showing interest in.

I agree. There is just something about his stride that is amazing. I can't explain it other than that he is such a smooth runner. As long as he can catch the ball at the next level and ends up on a decent team, I feel like he will be a big-time sleeper.

I forgot Cameron Williams started the last game of the season. Not sure if I still have that recorded. Anyone remember how he did ?

Seth Joyner remains a moron

I take that 1st round talent endorsement with a grain of salt - he looks comparable to Fred and that should be an interesting competition this summer.

Actually, I think Williams will be way better than Fred. Vicious punch. Decent footwork. He was projected as a high Day 2 pick at least if he stayed in school. Williams was the starting RT on the #1 OL in college. (We got Majors from that same OL as a PS addition at cutdowns). I think Hinton has the potential of being a better Fred as our swing T.

I like the idea of Hinton at guard a lot. But the downside...and I'm not going to pretend to have watched multiple snaps of Hinton playing football. But simple scouting reports say that he can be a waist bender and plays high, which is only natural for a young 6'7" OT. While he's bigger than Herremans and Steen (and both, especially Herremans, are guard transition success stories)....it seems he projects more as that type of guard than a Becton or Dickerson. Not someone that is going to be a road grader for a run dominant team. They also might be looking for a more balanced OG anyway.

Williams had maturity concerns. Despite being raw he probably would have been picked 2-3 rounds earlier otherwise. Stoutland never seemed all that enthused about him.

I wonder about the last statement. They didn’t activate Hinton off IR after three practices, they did Williams and Williams played in the last regular season game. Loved the punch but still a work in progress. (Not a knock on Hinton, I just think he is a backup swing and they had that in Fred as I think there was a projection that Lane would return).

I think there are 2 things to consider. First, I am sure you would agree that there's a reasonable chance that the offense may not do well next season. Second, Hurts will get blamed for part of the dysfunction. If those 2 things are true, Hurts may want to get traded rather than stay in Philly. This isn't a personal attack on Hurts. It's just the reality of the game. Whether we think the article is from biased sources or not, there are people within the organization that blame Hurts for the problems in the offense last season. My guess is that Sirianni is one of those people and a source for the article. There are really 2 possibilities for the offense next season: the passing offense is the same or worse or the passing offense is better. If Hurts starts most of the season and the offense looks better, I think it's highly likely Hurts gets another extension. If the offense looks the same or worse, even if the team wins the Super Bowl, I think it's likely Hurts and the Eagles part ways before 2028.

I optimistic about Hurts in this offense because there are parts that play to his strengths. I don't want them to trade AJ because the team will have better talent at receiver with him on the roster. I can see where Devonta could make up a big part of the production with more targets. If he produces like JSN or Nakua in this offense, then AJ's production won't be missed. Devonta is as good as JSN. Hurts is better than Darnold. That being said, it's unrealistic to say there's no chance of failure.

I also think the NTC ends this season, or next season maybe, but it isnt the duration of the contract. I think if the offense sucks again and Hurts is one of the top 3 reasons, he's gone. Some team out there will think they can fix him but without a team of all pros Hurts is taking you to an embarassing wildcard exit

Well to judge by the Blog, that analogy pretty much fits every player on the team but every player not signed/drafted by the Eagles has been shown to be every bit alive, despite the box being closed.

Is this an annual thing?

Can’t believe I’m saying this but what the Raiders did actually makes sense. Cousins is basically there on a one yr 20 mil deal which is chump change for a starting QB these days and it gives a rookie qb a year or so to learn.

I think the guy I want most on our team is Chris Bell. The more I watch him the more I am impressed and think he would have been a top 15 pick if he wasn't injured in November.
