I like his pointing tool.

Peters/Mailata is a tough call, Peters is in much better shape and was better at LT than Mailata has been against the Boys.

And while you can move Peters to LG, that will be the 3rd position he's been asked to play this season without exhibition games and being out a few weeks.

So going Peters/Lane at OT down the stretch with Mailata as the swing tackle isn't "stupid," this team will make the playoffs and you have to focus on being competitive this year. Mailata got good experience, and if they have a real training camp next summer, should be in position to compete with Dillard for LT in 2021. With two weeks off, Peters will only be asked to play half a season, and if he's 100%, he's still an above average LT. The question is how long can he maintain his body close to 100%, but you have a nice insurance policy.

There's no "right" answer, but I suspect it's Stoutland, not Pederson, who makes these sort of calls, with his track record, why would a HC second guess him?

If nothing else, Mailata has proven to be a viable swing tackle. If the Eagles still believe in Dillard, then substantial draft resources are freed up to address pressing needs such as CB, S, LB, and RB.

I literally said that, right now, he’s the best player in the nfl from the 2010 draft and all you can comprehend from the post are the critiques.

Youve become more boring and short sighted than ever.

The Eagles don’t think this far ahead...but I’d like to see Dillard win the LT job next year and Lane moved at the 2021 deadline with Mailata settling in at RT.

In a way, Peters going back to LT and Mailata as the swing tackle is a step in that direction.  With Peters and Lane’s health, Mailata figures to get about as many OT snaps as a #3 DE.  So he’ll get work in.

Yup. There’s a lot of value in having another Vaitai, minus the ability to play guard.

I doubt he would have sign here but as i learn/see more of Antonio Brown's contract i would of loved to have him here.

He does seem different, (has to because he has like 9 kids and millions in court cost) and he would be on the outside and we'd have Fulgham and Ward.

Lol.

AB needs to play with Brady, Rodgers, or Wilson.

No other QB has the experience and clout (not even Brees after the way Jenkins pulled the locker room away from him) to contain AB.

Even Roethlisburger couldn't contain him, FWIW

Learned that from posting in CVON, lol.

Yup.

Sometimes you need a great QB to tell a WR to STFU.

I don't think Jones has been terrible.  I just think he's probably an OK QB.  If you put him in the right setting, he can win games.  He just can't do much with what they currently have in NY.

I think that's optimistic.  I mean he melted down in Pittsburgh when JuJu got more targets than him.  Roethlisberger couldn't stop him from getting out of control.

Isn't this timeline reversed?  I thought they extended Alshon then drafted JJAW which still makes the pick baffling.  Extending a guy then draft someone in the 2nd round to be his backup.

Shouldn't be surprised now however since we hear DP say that Mailata might be better if he can sit and watch the game rather than take live snaps.

No. They drafted JJAW and then restructured Alshon and guaranteeing his 2020 salary right before the start of the 2019 season. At the time of the pick the general consensus was "ok, we drafted an Alshon replacement so we can move on at the end of the year". Then they restructured and the consensus changed to "ok this pick makes no sense"

Croom is back on the PS taking the place of McCown.  How is it that Alshon Jeffery is still on the active roster and not IR?

Idk. I don’t think the weapons he has at WR and tight end are all that bad. Like slayton is a really good WR. If he connects with slayton against the bucs the multiple times he missed him they likely won that game. You could do a lot worse than sterling sheppard, slayton, tate and engram. Add on bring back barkley into it. His line isn’t great but they are immensely better than what they were a couple years ago with Eli. I just don’t think he’s that great. He can make some of the plays but he is turnover prone. We have issues with wentz but wentz has only been this turnover prone for one season. Daniel Jones is going on his second year of being like how Carson Wentz is this year.

I thought that two point conversion play was an indicator about Daniel Jones. That was an easy two point conversion play. if he throws the ball earlier and gets it out and makes the quick decision they tie that game. I think he’s a bottom 1/3 of the league starter. I much rather take my chance with Lawrence and fields.

daniel jones really is Eli 2.0

He's going to need a great defense to win. Hes never gonna have monster stats. he may wow you with an incredible play then turn around and throw 2 bone head picks

His ceiling is in the 12ish range of the top QBs in the league

I think top 12 is kind of pushing it. I think he’s likely 16-20 range. I don’t think he’s top 12 even when some of these older quarterbacks retire. The thing with Eli was he was the best QB prospect in that class. I think the Giants completely pushed Daniel Jones up the board to the point of where he was completely overdrafted. At least with Eli you could say well yeah he should’ve been the number one pick. Daniel Jones  was nowhere near as talented as Eli Manning and nowhere near as talented to go in the top 10 like he did.

Give it time, it will happen soon enough. Don't forget they have a bye week. Could be early/mid next week. But Ive been saying this since off season, he wont hit the field and will be on IR after the trade deadline. Just doing it the day or two after is too telling. Have to make it look good, lol.

Please.  Wentz has been fumble prone his entire NFL career.  Perhaps you meant interception prone, not turnover prone, which he added this season, mainly from Doug calling up long throws behind this backup OL.

You're right on point with this.

Add trying to throw long in gale force winds against the Cowpies

Hard to say what his ceiling is.

A QB is really just the front man, albeit the most important component, behind an entire village of moving parts.

Right now, Jones is part of one of the NFLs worst passing offenses.  His OL sucks and I don’t think they’ve got a great coach in there to get this thing off the ground.  He does seem to have good weapons.  As a whole, it isn’t coming together.

If I were a Giants fan, I’m sure I’d want them all gone.  But from a distant perspective, it collectively just isn’t working.

Same thing with Wentz.  Collectively, it just isn’t working.

I wouldn't argue that he's not a bottom 1/3 of the League QB now.  I just think he has shown some potential.
