What ever happen to earning a job?

In essence what the league is saying is , owners are racist.

Can someone answer this question.  I didn't get to watch Clemson/ND and I know that Trevor Lawrence was out because he tested positive for Covid 2 weeks ago.  I watched the highlights and he's on the sidelines (in a mask of course) with his teammates, behind the coaches, in their ears.  What's even the point of holding him out of the game?  If he can huddle up with guys and talk to them in his civies then he can do it and lead his team on the field.

Then you have ND fans storm the field.  The whole Covid thing still makes no sense to me.

For 2021, we have 3 OTs, 2 good OGs, a good C and 2 competent backup iOL. As long as Kelce returns, we'll be drafting a backup.

Moreover, Stoutland can actually develop late-round OL. Give him talented late round picks and it'll work out.

That really doesn’t fit with the Eagles philosophy.  Sudfeld on a one year contract, draft Hurts.  JP likely done after 2019, draft Dillard.  The team doesn’t draft for this year only, they draft for the future.  Taylor frustrates us because he was not ready to play day one.   Note that Gerry is signed through this season.  Draft Taylor and develop a player to replace Gerry. Eagles hopefully will have a year to develop a new player. Sometimes that works, sometimes it’s JJAW, Jones and Douglas. But that is the philosophy of Eagles drafting.  Reagor is the future Z to replace DJax.  JJAW was supposed to be the X to replace Jeffery.   Mills, Parks on one year contracts, means Wallace may be the strong S of the future or a backup. McLeod is aging so that is why I say a S should be in the mix.  Good S draft.  Now Jones, Douglas screwed things up and CB may need to start right away.   I think it is the biggest need on the team. Don’t be surprised by a draft that targets DBs like this year did with WRs and if one is drafted in the first and starts. Good CB draft.

Yeah. My grandson has been playing football all season. The spend the entire game playing with no masks but aren't even allowed to shake hands with the other team after the game.

No worries though, the Covid thing will be gone soon.

I guess it depends on what you mean by "soon".

That’s not entirely the picture.  Sometimes familiarity is a foot in the door.   Like Greg Lewis, WR coach, Bartum as a TE coach. Duce as a RB coach.  All three got to the NFL quicker because of familiarity with the HC and team. Heck, Pederson as a HC rocketed from HS to NFL QB coach because AR knew him and to the Eagles post Chip because AR, Howie and Lurie knew him.  Head coaches tend to hire coaches they know.   I was impressed somewhat with the fact Doug seemed to avoid that some this year but not all hires fell into that category. Burke is a Schwartz hire of familiarity.  Marty was probably a Lurie or Howie move.  (The pass heavy may not be driven by Doug alone but also by Marty’s influence).  Sometimes familiarity can include race with the party not even realizing it.

I think everyone is for merit hires. I also think this is a move to try and demonstrate a willingness towards diversity in the boss jobs in the NFL.  Eagles have some diversity in their ranks so I don’t think this impacts them negatively.  That said, it doesn’t sound as good as they think.

I'll predict by 1 Mar we won't be hearing about it

Good news on the injury front.

This time next year, I imagine a significant part of the population will have taken a vaccine.  I also imagine that along with annual flu, we may well see annual coronavirus (not just Covid 19 in the mix) vaccines in our future.  In the meantime science is learning a lot about this family of viruses. It is a global knowledge to be shared.

Would rather see Ike in that tweet than Alshon.

Excited to see the offense at full strength, at least minus the o line injuries. The best Oline they can put out there now is Mailata, Herbig, Kelce, Peters, Johnson.

As long as there is money to be made off it and the Gov and other agencies are funding hospitals it will be a topic and "keep going" Once the Gov puts an end to funding the hospitals for each case, it will slow down dramatically. Everything is a business. Wait till the vaccine drops, lol. Cash money.

@eagle45 how mad will you be when we’re running 12 personnel and Alshon and Fulgham are the WRs?

Im sure Alshon will get another injury that will end up with him on IR without him ever suiting up for a game in Eagles green again.

I'm on board with this.

We should use Alshon in the red-zone. He's better than Ward there and allows us to use Fulgoat/Goedert in the slot.

The explosion of cases in places like Utah that have exhausted available beds for covid patients disagrees with your assertion.

I guess I should be cheering for Danny Dimes today against WAS

Lawrence was no longer positive, but he hadn't passed other medical protocols associated with it that were required to be able to play.

I'm cheering for the Giants to pick out of the top 5 to force them to keep Jones and not get in position for Lawrence/Wilson/Fields.

Can’t wait.  I doubt they’ll have both Ertz and Goedert available this year though...so we may not get to see it.

But then we could add Jones to the qb factory in a year.

Rodgers is perfectly capable

Just not fair.  I don’t know who is going to stop an offense of Goedert, Rodgers, Fulgham, Alshon, and Clement with Wentz under center.  Put me down for the over in that game.
