This is on the medical staff, Lane came back before he was healed and did more damage that now could linger into next season as wellย

Should of sat him down to start the season til he was ready Instead he's not surprisingly hurt again ๐Ÿ˜’

So no sense in even considering bring Brooks back this year. Let him completely heal.

2 things......if this has been going on since 2018 then why wasnt it addressed in one of the last 2 offseasons?ย  Also, hope they dont wait till april or something to have the surgery and his recovery goes into TC.ย ย

Eagles 2021 team needs:

QB, LT, RT, OG, OC, WR, RB, DE, LB, CB, S

You forgot coaching staff, GM, etc.

Lane will be fine. Heโ€™ll be back to himself next season.ย

That is completely false. ย Thatโ€™s the same line of thinking that expected the WRs to be better with Desean this season or Sproles to be an NFL player for the lastย 3 years.

Lane Johnson on a bad ankle was still a top 10 OT and his contract is pretty much guaranteed until 2023. He's the RT for 2021 and 2022.ย

Heโ€™s been playing hurt all year and he was still fine while he was in. We should get another couple years out of him before we needย his replacement.ย

If Lane has been dealing with this since 2018, why was he signed to the richest contract in OL history (at the time) in late 2019?

We need his replacement tomorrow.ย  We've needed his replacement about 8 times this year.ย  We will need his replacement multiple times next year.ย  He has an $18m cap hit next year.ย  We can't overpay every single player on the team.

The problem is his ankle will fully heal but heโ€™s lost stabilization at this point because he keeps picking up high ankle sprains on the same ankle. At least thatโ€™s how I understand it. The injury is off and on, he hasnโ€™t been hurt continuously from 2018 to now.

So youโ€™reย advocating a Schwartz return. Nice.ย

Oh hell no. He needs to stay unsigned as well. Add DC. Hell, @315Eagles beat me to it. Pretty much a full staff.ย

I'm pretty sure this injury is never really going away with Lane.

Really no point, I mean if the eagles were competing for a super bowl then maybe yeah but what's the point rushing Brooke's back.

I get Brooks is a freak healer and again what would be the point of bringing him back so he can hobble around and watch pederson call horrible plays for Wentz to horribly execute while they lose games?

I don't think bringing Brooks back early is going to solve any problems.ย

Roll with the guys you got and get ready to compete next year.

This team would play Pryor at RT instead of Driscollย

Either that or he doesn't think Driscoll can get it done.

2021 Cap hits:

$32m to the right side of our OL, who will likely play 0-5 games together.

$16.5m combined to Alshon Jeffery and Desean Jackson after they get cut before June 1.

$58.6m, combined, to Carson Wentz and Fletcher Cox, neither of whom will make the probowl.

$15.2m to stud backup DT Javon Hargrave.

Covid bro

A really interesting decision this offseason, perhaps reflective of their overall approach to this cap situation, will be the fate of Malik Jackson.

1.ย  Keep him.ย  $13.6m cap hit.ย  Obviously exceeds his value as a player, but he's a decent DT.ย  This also puts you on the hook for >$9m of guarantees in 2022.

2.ย  Cut him before June 1.ย  Save $1m, eat $12.6m.ย  Sounds like a rough deal, but you are free and clear for 2022.

3.ย  Cut him after June 1.ย  It saves $10m of 2021 cap, but you kick the can to a completely empty and needless $9m cap hit in 2022.

WTF was Howie doing structuring guaranteed 8 figure cap hits on players that will be 32 years old?

ย

Between injuries and suckiness this team is just no fun.

Falls in line with a lot of his other big contracts...ย

Was it the medical staff or Doug and Stoutland letting him play when he wasn't 100%?

Was he a topย  tackle this year? Seemed like he was getting beat a lot recently

Canโ€™t be a top tackle playing 8 games and leaving half of them. ย His ability on the field is becoming irrelevant. ย

I think Doug will have another year to get it right. However, I thought the same for Chip Kelly and was shocked when he got canned.
ย

Iโ€™m getting the feeling Dougโ€™s job is less secure than Iย think.ย
