And a GM that went out and brought in a legitimate WR to immediately help his QB.   Eagles went into this season with broken down Alshon, breaking down Desean, career JAG Greg Ward and a bunch of raw rookies, not even the most polished one to come out.   And then they wonder why the passing game sucks.

It must be Wentz.

DP still has huge brain farts during a game, the 4th and 1 call in the second half, with Boston Scott in the back field, means and obvious Qb sneak IMO, and of course if fails because the aints new it too, Scott should never be in the game plan as long as sanders is there

That’s because the receivers were finally schemed open by Doug.  He refused to do that while Carson was playing.

How many of those 82 yards do you think were in the air?

I know the TD to Jeffery was.  Doug never would have dialed up a winning play like that for Carson and if he did, Alshon would make no effort or drop it.

I'm hoping all your posts are jokes in this thread.  If not, you're probably on the wrong website.  You might want to go check out Alex Jones.

That would likely make trading him in the offseason for cap relief an impossibility.   His salary is 100% guaranteed for next year - his last under contract... with... $1.8M in dead money to follow in 2022... due to Howie's 3 voided years at the end of the deal.

Agree 100%.  We saw it yesterday.  The offense was just as bad as ever.  Zero improvement.

I mean it was a dominant passing attack.  Alshon had more snaps than the team leading WR.  The explosive rookie had 2 catches on 4 targets.  Hurts completed under 50% of this throws.  That's a recipe for long-term dominance.

The only joke here is Wentz haters who have been lying in wait to destroy him.  The entire team and organization has let Carson down, but none moreso than ravenous "fans” like you!

So one play of 30 yards.  Again 167 yards passing was such a promising performance.  I mean imagine Hurts could pass for over 2,500 yards a season at that rate.

Yep.  We are going nowhere with this approach.  To think we benched a former MVP in his prime for this?  It boggles the mind!

Did I say he did the same thing he did in college?   Nope.

I didn't say a word about Wentz in that post.  I haven't defended him even a bit in a quite a while, other than to say that there's a lot of blame to go around... and when the QB fails, the coach fails with him... because that's the QB that he wanted... and that's the QB he failed to coach up.  Wentz has regressed, and I haven't seen a single person deny that.  That's either 100% on Wentz, or its on Wentz and the coaches.  I blame Wentz and the coaches.  The coaches have also used stupid personnel groupings, failed to develop other players, and made bone headed decisions in the middle of games.   Wentz is out... and I still see stupid personnel grouping, failed development of other players and bone headed decisions in the middle of the game.   Removing Wentz from the equation won't fix this team.  They won yesterday, which will cover up a lot of the flaws of this team to folks who wanted to blame it all on Wentz to begin with.   But, as @greend just said... if Doug and Howie are back, this team won't move forward.   We'll be dealing with this more in the future.   2021 is going to suck, pretty much no matter how you slice it given the gutting this team needs to do just from a salary cap standpoint.  But, if it's done right, they bring in better coaches who can develop talent.  They could turn it around and 2022 could be the beginning of a turn around.   If Doug and Howie come back, 2021 will not be the bottom of the fall from grace.

Don’t forget Schwartz, he’s gotta go too.

Definitely.  Carson is a former mvp in his prime.  He was balling out there when he wasn’t being let down by the receivers, OL, or the organization itself who ruined his psyche by taking a QB in the draft.  Not to mention the evil fans who have been attacking him so viciously.

Carson would have done much better yesterday (if not sabotaged by the team).

Take a breather.  Not too many fans expected the franchise QB of this team to struggle the way he has this year.  There is no conspiracy theory.

Jalen Hurts after the game was asked what helped the offense, was it the playcalling?

He responded, "Nah, we just ran the plays that have always been in there.  We just executed better."

It's like the people that think Wentz was the only problem were the ones who were missing the forest for the trees.

Hurts was exactly as you should expected, remember he just came out of the Oklahoma offense where he ran for 1200 yards last season.

His passing game is a work in progress, beautiful throw to Jeffrey, awful throw to a wide open Reagor. Mechanics need a lot of work, and arm strength is average.

Ertz should have been called for OPI on the Reagor big play, guy did an awful job of selling a pick.

Mailata struggled, didn't pick up Jenkins on the 4th and 2, got beat around the edge, false start, not awful but a step down this week.

Sanders is a big play back, but you don't run him more than 15 times, and 20 touches total, if you want him to make it through a season, Eagles need a power back to go with Sanders and Scott.

Somehow the secondary held up with three starters out.

Let's be honest, Saints were flatter than a pancake the first half, picked it up a little the second half but Hill ain't exactly the QB you want when coming from behind.

Chip Kelly had a better offensive scheme than Doug at this point.

The Good:

Hurts played well, didn't make too many mistakes, that was a good sign.  He made quick decisive decisions. Arm looked lively with good touch. He made one play with his arm that I think Wentz would not have completed, the TD to Alshon, Wentz would have left it go earlier and gave Alshon a Jump ball, which Alshon used to be a 50/50 player, but sucks anymore. Hurts gave him a underthrown back shoulder (more rib area throw) and it was the right throw. Promising.

Doug called a better game plan, still, not happy with his run game, it was improved number of touches, but was still a bit light.  & FINALLY called like somewhere around 10 or so QB DESIGNED rollouts, (excluding where Hurts just bails out on his own)   Almost like Doug was not HELPING WENTZ or the TEAM

Defense played well against the Saints (was a back up QB , but so what) Even got a turn over!!!!!!

Miles obviously played well

The Oline did pretty good. Finally had JP/opeta, off the field and had Mailata, Herbig, Kelce, Seumalo and Driscoll all playing together- They should get better if we can keep them the same for a game or two ....PLEASE

Beating that arrogant Ahole Peyton is always a plus

The Bad:

The win hurts our draft slot

More injuries to Slay etc...

The WR's/Passing game still stinks. hardly no one open, ever. The one play Reagor did well on Ertz damned near killed the guy with OPI/Illegal Pick, he literally trucked him to get Reagor some space. Lucky he didn't get called. The wr's (reagor included) lack the ability to gain separation.

We relied way too heavily on Hurts legs to save the day. Whether it was bailing out the backside when pressured or designed runs. We have seen that movie before, it = Short lived success in this league. Teams will figure that out within time or Hurts gets, uh HURTS....  Good teams who constantly win, win from the pocket.

The Ugly:

St's was bad as usual - the Punt Ward didnt field and ended up losing 20+ yards on, and the Onsides kick coverage almost lost us the game - save for Riley? outmuscling for the ball & Elliot missing a relatively no brainer FG

Yeah alshon caught the TD, (his only play of the day as I recall) but he has no business being on the field.

The "Hurts is just a dumb RB" takes came a lot faster than I thought they would... even from notoriously awful Philly fans. Given the cult like following Wentz has around here I guess I shouldn't have been surprised.

McLeod wasn’t really worth anything as far as a trade. But, damn these contracts and dead money cap hits. Wtf?
I thought Howie was supposed to be good with the salary cap?

He’s not a super smart genius like Carson is back there,  Carson is extremely smart and hard working, didn’t you know?

Too bad evil Philly fans are going to run yet another superstar out of town for the next RG3.

Using your logic, yes.  Also, he would be 19-0 and not get sacked once.  🙂

Man, hoping it's not too bad for Rodney. He's been a leader for us and played so hard this year.

What do you expect him to say?  That they finally fixed the offense only after they got rid of Carson?  No way they will never admit it!

BTW, happy to see you tested negative.
