I'm going trade down all the way... but WRs are just worth top 10 picks, no matter who they are.

But I would go OL first... I'm not landed yet, because I need to study it more... but right now a trade down and a selection of Wyatt Davis could be transformative.

I'd be cool with that.  Trade down, Davis with 1st Round pick then hopefully with a pair of 2nd Round picks we get a CB with the best ballhawk skills available and maybe Sermon to pair with Sanders.  The pair of them (along with Davis) would help take a good amount of pressure off whoever the QB is.

I dont care what position it is, we take the BPA at the pick. Guess that leaves QB, TE, Punter and Kicker out since none will be BPA there. So everything else is open for me.

Well, for me, I think Davis is the BPA at #1, but OGs don't go that high.

Sewell is probably a top 5 pick and there's no other OL probably worthy in the top 10 as of now. We have a need at guard, but usually you don't take guards high in the first round unless you think they are John Hannah or Quentin Nelson.  The Eagles might get an offer from a team that wants to move up for a QB. If the Eagles get a big offer, they might take that to move down and then get a guard in the mid first or so. But, then again, Howie would be trying to draft lower in the 1st round which means there's more of a chance he screws it up.

It's a great idea and I love it.

However, you need to make sure Doug is committed to running the ball.  No sense in getting Sermon in the 2nd if he's going to get 7 rushes per game.

Wyatt Davis is that guy to me... not quite Hannah or Nelson, but close.  Put him with Stoutland and he can be everything people thought Chance Warmack would become when he came out of Alabama.

If he gets 7 rushes per game that’ll mean Miles goes down to 5-6.

I'm big on us repairing our OL. But, over the past week, I feel we have to address our other starting CB spot. It's a disaster.  I think we have to go Surtain in Round 1, if he is there unless we get a crazy offer from a team wanting to move up to our spot.

Mialata should go for Smith's knees next year.

A great thing about Mailata is that he can really punish the guys he blocks anyway. He is fully capable of destroying Jaylon's body and taking his soul and I hope he does.

Sorry but we best get ready for another bad year next year. And the year after. The rebuild is on hold.

Bringing Doug back at this juncture in time could very well have the impact of setting this team back 5-6 years at a minimum.

This team is bad because of the offense.  Doug is the offense.  The game plans have been bad, the scheme has been bad, the selection of guys active on game days has been bad.  Nothing Doug has done this season merits him returning next season.

Wentz is not going to return to form with Doug.  A repeat of this season’s performance will be the end of his playing days in PHI.  Hurts is a lower-tier NFL starter — and I mean that’s his ceiling.  Without a top-half NFL QB the team is going nowhere.

Schwartz leaving means there is a risk of a bad defense to go with a bad offense.  The Eagles had a lot of bad defenses in the period between Johnson and Schwartz.  I’m not talking "Schwartz bad defense”, I’m talking among league-worst defenses.

4 wins and a tie this season.  The Eagles will be hard pressed to improve on that record next season.

That's part of the reason why Smith retaliated. Mialata pancaked him on a clean block on a previous play.  Smith wanted payback. I don't know how the NFL can't clearly see that as a cheap shot. Neither Mialata nor Smith were near the play.

Having a disaster at CB won't get your QB killed.   Just my two cents.

Thats the problem with the NFL. "Usually you dont take guards that high in the first round" You take who the best player is. OG, OT, Center, WR. you take who is the best player that can help your team NOW. Just like teams will take a project or "Potential" great QB with a top 3 pick only to turn out like crap. No that is not a Wentz comment. more like RG3, Mariota, Russell comment.

Take the best player, plain and simple. I dont care if hes a OG. Yes you can move back if there is a team willing to pay the price but we need top 10 talent on this team now. in the last 10+ years when we pick in the top 10, its been a very productive player. After the top 10 its been significantly less productive. Stick with top 10 please.

Yup.  I just posted in another thread about Doug coming back in 2021 that IMO the only way this doesn't continue to be a monkey house clown car ish show is that all those O coaching changes were made by Lurie/Howie and after the poor results this season that Doug convinces them to let him pick his own O staff and he realizes he needs another Reich, a true OC that is good at designing plays and who can keep Doug honest with his run/pass plays.  And a QB coach who instead of being their friend/buddy will actually be a GD friggin COACH and stay on the QBs to work on their techniques/mechanics, etc.

If we had both Sanders and Sermon they should each get 12-15 carries per game (and if one of them is the 'hot hand' then 20ish carries while the other gets 10-12), plus some targets in the pass game.  Sermon looked pretty good last night catching passes out of the backfield.

Dont get too upset just yet. the reporters just said they "expect" Doug to return because it makes sense to them. Until Lurie has his press conference everything is still on the table.

I think we CB and OL will be most of our draft. I expect us to draft 2 or 3 OL and two CBs. The rest of the picks will be used to fill in whatever else we can.  I'm just thinking we might not go OL in Round 1 unless there is a pick worthy where we are drafting or unless we get a big haul in a trade.

With Doug back, I'm not even excited about the idea of Ja'Marr Chase. He doesn't know how to use WRs.

Could trade back twice and land Davis I think. I wouldn't venture too much past twelve though.

Lurie said Doug was back? Dam I missed that press conference.

Reporters saying they "Expect" Doug back because it makes sense to them is not really carved in stone just yet, lol

If this wasn't Schwartz idea, could give credence to them making Schwartz the fall guy for all this. Which would be so lame.

Schefter and Rappaport usually have pretty good sourcing between them.

I could remain cautiously hopeful, but at this point I think Lurie will take the Mr. Kruger approach to the GM/HC situation with Howie and Doug:

On the bright side, the likelihood of a "flat" Eagles performance tomorrow night just increased.

His contract is expiring after this season. Not sure that means hes stepping down and being claimed as a fall guy.
