One positive for Howie is that he’s aggressive enough to sell if the ship continues to sink. On the other hand, if we sputter to 3-4 he might make a dumb trade.

I 100% believe this...if Lurie flat-out tells him he's back for 2021.

I'm also curious to see how Howie acts in "sell-mode". We've never seen this.

Looking at the snap counts, it makes me sad that Ward was basically benched yesterday.

He is a perfect fit for this offense and Wentz loves to throw to him. He would have kept the chains moving yesterday and given our defense a chance to catch its breath. Just amazing how the team refuses to stop looking a gift horse in the mouth.

They were trying to get Sideline involved in the game plan.  Unless he comes out next week and catches for 100 yards and 2 TD, its time for him to be benched.

Totally agree. He’s a nice safety blanket for Carson and the offense. Further fuels the notion Doug has his head firm up his a**.

Ward is not a perfect fit for this offense. He can’t play on the outside. That’s not to say JJAW is any good, but with heavy 12 personnel, Ward shouldn’t have a significant role.

This is just laughably wrong.

Honestly? This is the correct snap distribution

We played 12 personnel for most of the game. Where should Ward line up? Should we play him in we Reagor or DJax?

Yep.

Under the dead money & cap savings tab, there's a drop-down that you can use to change "cut" to "trade".

So guaranteed money is tradable and comes off a cap. However, signing bonuses accelerate when traded. We're big on bonuses, which is why we don't trade a lot of players.

I set it at, trade post June 1st

Ward is a perfect fit as the slot, for now.

I was encouraged with some of the play design yesterday.  I saw a little motion involving Reagor and think the kid has some real upside.  But you need to be creative with how you get the ball in his hands.  I really want to see more of the same from Hightower and Watkins TBH.  I think if this thing continues to go off the rails, you have to dress those 3 guys as your starting WR to get them ready for the future.  Because the purge is coming this offseason and we will need a lot of younger guys ready to step up into leading roles.  JJAW obviously isn't one of them.  Let's see what the others guys can do.

Yeah, I don’t think Doug was a problem yesterday. It was Wentz.

And the defense obviously sucked.

I like that Doug is willing to defend his QB but using no offseason doesn't work when every team had no offseason

Lots of money on the Dline and nothing to show for it

Based on the team's history, either Reagor or DJax were in the slot the majority of the time we were in 12 personnel yesterday. We generally use Ertz as an X, which is why he was covered by Ramsey a lot yesterday.

When the all 22 comes out I can count the number of times. But that would be a lot of work to prove something I already know to be true.

So Ward should play over DJax or Reagor? That’s what you’re saying?

I truly dont think this is a playoff team

Even with the 7th wild card. Theyd have to go... 9-5 from here on out and I dont see it.

I don't think they need 9 wins though. 7? That could do it. Though that'll be a real stretch at this point.

Absolutely.

Yikes.

There’s no reason for JJAW to see the field at this point

Im 100% in the bust camp now.

Aside from his horrible drop on 3rd down,
Wentz threw a pick last year in almost the same exact scenario as yesterday:  a little late on the throw to the end zone, and JJAW falls down rather than fight for the ball, and his defender comes across his face for a pick

Not many receivers are fighting back for the ball in that situation.

My theory is the baby in the offseason has a lot to do with his early season struggles and in sticking with it

That moron on the falcons "hands" team should never play football again.  What the f was he thinking just watching the ball spin and go by him and backing up?  Hey, let me pave the way so the Cowboys can have an easy recovery.

Maybe there was a path to a TD. He would have had to gather himself pretty quickly and fire the pass since the safety was working back to the receiver.

It looked like they thought the ball had to go 10 yards before they touched it. That only applies to the kicking team. That's the only thing I can think. It's truly inexplicable.

That's on the incompetence of the Falcons ST coaches; they even called a timeout after DAL showed their formation -- just to discuss how awful the next 30 seconds were going to be.

Super Bowl 51 ..... the Falcons are still who the Falcons are.
