Maybe there was a path to a TD. He would have had to gather himself pretty quickly and fire the pass since the safety was working back to the receiver.

When you throw across your body like that, you have to zip it in high. Asking JJAW to come back to the ball there is not realistic. This isn't the Hightower/Reagor situation; those routes are designed for the WR to come back.

Not many receivers are fighting back for the ball in that situation.

Disagree, he did was he always does, cower from contact

I’m sorry, but he had time to at least play defense

the guy refuses to fight for the ball.  He could have tried to box his man out at least.  Help your QB out on a late throw

he plays like desean Jackson except he’s not anywhere near that type of player, just waiting for the ball to drop into his hands

I think he had a flashback to his TD throw to Sanders last season vs WASH.  It was a low-percentage, ill-advised throw.  Once in awhile it will work -- more often it will get picked off.

That all sounds exciting until you realize it's Howie that will be making the draft picks with the equity that comes back.

Nope.  Howie will only be making the picks that hit.  Andy Weidl will make the ones that bust.

There’s no reason for JJAW to see the field at this point

JJAW and Gerry need to be cut this morning.

I wonder if the play was designed for JJAW and Wentz was just too slow to get into position to throw it. If he wasn’t the primary read, the safety should have told him it wasn’t there.

JJAW sucks and is obviously a bust.  He dropped a catchable ball earlier in the game.

However the INT was 90%+ on Carson.  JJAW was open but the throw was late and because it was late had to be behind because the Safety was approaching on the front side.  An ON TIME throw w/ANTICIPATION and ACCURACY = Easy Touchdown.

Unfortunately Carson Wentz does not throw on time, with anticipation, or accuracy.  Hence the backbreaking pick.

I agree with the consensus that the roster is barren and devoid of blue chip talent.  HOWEVER...

This team would be at worst 1-1 right now with league average QB play.

Unfortunately we've had the worst QB play in the league so far.

ESP is dumb, but he’s 100 percent correct here.

To be a little fair to him on the drop the pass was behind him. He still got his hands on the ball and should have caught it but the pass could have been better. That's a catch that many receivers make all the time. JJAW might be the worst WR taken in the first 3 rounds of the 2019 draft. Even Andy Isabella, who did nothing last year, had a huge catch for the Cardinals yesterday.

Good news guys!

Yup. Pointed that out yesterday. Epps was so oblivious that he’s probably still roaming the Linc.

I wouldn’t consider him a bust.  Since he shouldn’t have been drafted where he was.  You give your kid the keys to the family car at age 15, don’t be surprised when he wrecks it.  Don’t blame the kid.  Blame the parents.  I don’t blame JJAW for sucking.  I blame Howie for drafting him.

Of course I blame Howie <ahem>... I mean Joe Douglas for overdrafting him with many better players at the same position still on the board.  However that doesn't change the fact that he's a bust.

I agree the JJAW drop was not a great pass from Carson.  However it at least was catchable and should have been caught.  Unlike the 20 horrid passes Wentz has thrown so far that are completely uncatchable.

It wasn’t Howie’s fault, it was the coach who wanted him over Campbell. Howie just sat at his desk with his feet propped up while eating an apple. "Hey, guys, there’s only two minutes left on the clock. If you don’t mind, could you please figure out who I should write down on this card. I’d chime in but I don’t really do anything with the draft.”

Guaranteed if they cap Doug for this upcoming disaster of a season they'll pin the JJAW pick and other bust picks on him via media leaks/smear campaign.

100% stone cold mortal lock.

Where are the posters who told us all we were overreacting last week and that with a win this week all will be right?

I can't speak for all of us but personally I am working up the courage to explain that 0-2 isn't that bad and we are still going to be a dominant team.

Sadly I have to remain sober while preparing for a hurricane and I can't seem to get there without alcohol

The defense is lucky Wentz was so bad that he's drawing most of the fan base ire

Some very simple adjustments the team could make...

-- Fire Press Taylor. The only reason I have any confidence the Eagles can beat the Bengals (the Bengals!) next week is that the Bengals are coached by Press Taylor's equally incompetent brother. This man has made Carson Wentz a worse QB, and has provided nothing new or helpful to the offense.

-- Bench Marcus Epps

-- Become run-dominant. Your starting QB can't pass. Sign a legit #2 RB and run the damn ball.

He was brutal. After re-watching the game I didn't see him make a single play. He can't cover, he bit on every fake and was a non-factor in run defense. He should be benched but the DC loves him for some reason so I don't expect anything to change.

I was getting frustrated yesterday at people yelling at the DL for lack of pressure. LBs/Safeties are supposed to be able to make these plays.

We really miss Will Parks. Of course, if the defense needs Will Parks to be competent, you have a different problem.
