How do you spend a third on taylor if he is this far away from functional play??

I think they saw how well we developed Gerry into an instinctive LB and figured we’d eventually develop Taylor into a star...

That logic from the organization would be fine and dandy... If Gerry was a good player.

😁😬

This team had multiple chances to put a bad team away yesterday but we decided not to. Peters might be cooked after all and the o-line penalties down the stretch were ridiculous. Doug needs to get this figured out quickly as well as figuring out what is wrong with Carson. This season is probably already done but I will remain optimistic for a few more games.

This season has no shot.

The very best that we have to hope for now is that guys like Dillard, Brooks, Raeger get healthy, stay healthy, and can actually play their critical roles next year.

And we have to hope that Carson isn't truly this bad long term.

Oh, and that Pederson isn't the oaf that he appears to be right now.

Oh, and that Roseman learns how to draft.

A lot of "if's" looking in to the future.

I rarely ever call to bench a player for an unknown rookie but in this case I think you need to give Bradley or Taylor a shot on defense. I really don't know how either of them could be worse than Gerry is now.

Then how would that mess with Carson?

NRC got benched for LeBlanc too. That was our two big changes defensively. Would love to sit in on meetings to hear what Gerry does well.

Wonderful...

Honestly if I'm Doug I don't trust either one, but you still have to go for the win

This reminds of those Madden plays where the computer does dumb ish for no reason

I didn’t post at all during the game, but this one made me LOL. Shoot Gerry to the moon please.

The best thing for Jason Peters is to get an "ankle" or "hamstring" injury and be out for a few weeks. If Mailata/whoever doesn't ish the bed, the team can quietly move on and he can save face of being benched to end his career.

Unless of course, Lurie wants to sign him and Tra Thomas to fight for the LT job with Dillard next season

As for the rest.  The Eagles got old and complacent.  The question with Doug is, has lost his edge as a leader and a coach?  I'm not sure, but I'm sure Doug Marrone laughed at the punt in OT after he got zinged for punting against the Patriots.

I'm a fighter bro, I don't completely give up until the fat lady sings or the bell rings.

I’ve said this a couple times in here, so I apologize for repeating myself but it bears mentioning regarding the overall perception on Taylor from a scouting standpoint. My buddy is a scout for another team in the league and he didn’t even have Taylor on his board and thought that was one of the stranger picks given where he was taken. So take that for whatever it’s worth.

I can’t say that specific situation did, but putting him in as a decoy last week vs allowing him to take a snap can be seen as a sign they’re slowly allowing him to get his feet more and more wet. He went from inactive, to an active decoy, to taking a snap and running for a first down. It’s a matter of time til he throws a pass.

Doug rang the bell.

Before end of the day, I'd start playing Wallace and Taylor over Mills and whichever LB you choose (but I don't think Gerry is the worst of the group).

This team has a chance to be Historically bad for the Jeff Lurie era.   Like really really bad.

And I'm totally ok with a firesale, blow it up, rebuild it. Start with HOWIE/ then Dougy.....

Go from there.

Understood, and if we had all of our horses I would be too.

On top of the team just not looking right, most notably the QB and head coach, we just continue to have too many injuries at key positions.

It's not what I want, but I just can't see how this team could possibly be competitive this year.

Unfortunately the SB gave Howie a get out of jail free card

He took a knee.  Pretty much the same thing.

They knew he was raw, but didn't factor in an off-season with no OTAs or even if Schwartz will be here next year.  The  question is, others team will presumably have worked out that the off-season was likely to be short, so he may well have been available lower anyway. Hard to know tho.  Howard (and the FO) have to be more accountable for how they run the personnel side of things

Doug is certainly culpable but I am not sure he has ruined Wentz. Doug is giving Wentz easy throws to make and Wentz is missing guys by a few yards.

Yes, something is up with Carson.  Doug has taken an offense that was dynamic with movement, shifting, attacking to the most predictable and easy to defend offense.  Our running game, regardless of the RB in the game, is the same concept almost every time: stand next to Carson in the shotgun and run left or right of center.  Defenses don't have to decipher really at all.

Doug did try a few times to roll Carson out on naked boots, but somehow we just let the DE run free to him each time.  Completely free so Carson had to to turn, set, and make a throw. As soon as he turned he had to evade.

So when I say Doug is ruining Carson, it is this complete lack of diversity that I speak to.  Carson plays better with a movement rhythm.   Doug has effectively eliminated thos from the offense.  Horrible coaching.

I'd guess part of that is because he isn't very big.

I'll hang in there a bit longer with hope. It's just how I'm wired. This last game though was pretty pathetic. On the bright side I did get 5000 steps during the over time pacing back and forth in the house.
