So, with Goedert hurt and Ertz traded, who plays TE?

I don't know the extent of Goedert's injury but if he is out, you give spot duty to Richard Rogers I guess.  There is no reason whatsoever to re-sign Ertz.  He is gonna be super slow in 1-2 years and that contract will be an albatross.  We can get much more for him during the season (near trade deadline) than the off-season, I would imagine.

Maybe then they will finally move on from the f-ing 12 personnel, that is NOT WORKING!

Hopefully, especially with all the speed receivers we have now.  Maybe Hightower or Watkins can be our slot guy.

Should have just lost the game, going thru this hell to pick 6 or 7 and get yet another bust hybrid LB is going to amazing.

This team doesn't draft LB high; that's part of the problem

Then how would that mess with Carson?

It was going to be a pass but he botched an RPO and fumbled

I'm done with this guy. Just fire him into the void. Give the rookies playing time.

So even with having DJack on a pitch count he is able to get hurt.  Awesome for your #1 WR.

thry need a real OC. Doug is in over his head without reich obviously

but the players love and respect  him

Reich had a creative and attacking O.  Since he left the O plays have been mundane.  Doug needs a guy who draws up the plays that he calls.  When you're choosing from a list of well designed creative plays vs a list of predictable ish you'll obviously look better working with the former than the latter.  Doug desperately needs an OC who brings to the table what Reich did.  He's otherwise lost without that aspect.

They knew he was raw, but didn't factor in an off-season with no OTAs or even if Schwartz will be here next year.  The  question is, others team will presumably have worked out that the off-season was likely to be short, so he may well have been available lower anyway. Hard to know tho.  Howard (and the FO) have to be more accountable for how they run the personnel side of things

Draft was end of April, virtual and all team facilities were closed with no hint of reopening. I’m not sure how anyone could have not factored in the offseason was going to be limited

It looked more like a zone read play to me and the DE fooled him into a bad decision when he didn't collapse on the run.  I can't find a replay, but I will keep looking.  I didn't see the pass movement on it at the time.  I could be wrong.

We need outside guys.  Ward is perfectly fine as a slot guy.  If you have outside guys.

I don't have a problem with Ward but I hope he isn't the long term solution there.  Jalen and one of Hightower/Watkins on the outside.  Then whichever is left, put him in the slot.  A slot guy with vertical speed could cause a lot of problems for the defense.  Obviously, I don't expect all 3 of those picks to hit but if 2 out of the 3 can, we are in business.  We will probably have to draft another receiver next year regardless.  The question will be, how high of a pick will be needed for that position?

Wish his contract wasn't so big. I would trade him to the rams so he can team back up with Mcvay. The rams wr core still doesn't have a speed threat.

Enough posters here aren't happy Ward is starting to look like our #1 WR for now and that's NOT what he's meant to be.  On most other teams he'd be the #4 or #5.  He's strictly a slot WR and should not play on the outside (and should not be getting his # called for bubble screens, ever again).  He's a slightly less physical Jason Avant.  He's not fast nor even quick, but he's a very good route runner who is reliable and he can help you move the sticks.  If we have any 2 of DJax, Reagor or Hightower on the outside then Ward can work the middle of the field to find the soft spot in a zone and make himself a target to pickup a 1st down on a 3rd and 6.  Or because he understands the importance of running precise routes and being where the QB expects him to be, being a former QB himself, he can get open enough against man coverage.  He'll get tackled almost immediately after the catch, but again, if he's on the right side of the sticks it's a 1st down.

He's serviceable for now.  Can we upgrade in the future with a faster shiftier slot WR who is also dependable?  Sure.  But while Goedert is out injured and we'll probably be running less 12 personnel then Ward should be on the field as the slot WR.  That's what we're working with, again.

It really is amazing to me that for the third year in a row any concern big or small turned into a massive issue with this team. We haven’t been able to get an injury break or get significant development from any player at a position of weakness — unless you want to count Sweat.

None if the younger corners are any good. None of the younger DEs took a leap forward (save for Sweat). None of the LBs are any good as expected. Mills isn’t young but is new to safety. He’s just a guy. The OL actually hasn’t been that bad considering the injuries. Pryor and Herbig are decent depth players. Peters is washed though.

I’d really like Ward if he were the WR 4 or 5. I hate him being relied upon as a top three receiver. He’s a JAG.

It’s not going to happen but I’d like the Eagles to make a statement today or tomorrow to the team. A release, benching, etc.

Preferably, that statement would be releasing Peters. He’s horrible. Mailata nor Driscoll would be worse

100%.  Peters has to go.  We saw him take too many plays off the last couple years.  He does it during critical situations also.  He is selfish, completely out of shape, and just washed up.  Get him out of here.  We had to line up 2 TE to the left of him all of the second half yesterday.  What a joke.

I was against him coming back initially. The first game last year was nice but then he got injured. Now this year they don't play him as much for fear of injury but he gets injured anyway. Another bad one from Howie

Ward is at the top of the screen. Wentz takes the check down to Ertz on third and long.

He's consistent 🤷‍♂️

If you're catching the ball then you're going to get thrown to more often. We saw it last season as well

Wentz is so unsure of himself, he is committing to who he is throwing to before the play starts instead of going through his reads to see who is open.
