I believe it is time for Howie to move on from GM, perhaps completely away from the Eagles. But if you fire Howie and still keep Doug as HC, does that limit your pool of good GM's that would want to come here and have their own selection of a HC? Who would those GM candidates be? For the record, I'm for keeping Doug for another year after this dumpster fire of a season.

The other thing that I've been thinking about since at least last season is why is Greg Ward good in this offense compared to our other receivers? We have receivers that have a lot more talent and speed than Ward, yet he is the most consistent receiver out there and performs well. No, he's not going to break a 50+ yard TD nor is he going to have a 100+ yard receiving game, but he has been the most consistent thing we have had on offense.

Just to add, on the play that I am referring to at the end of the game, you run the ball there and get even 3 yards, we are now talking about a 61 yard FG attempt instead of 64 yards after the false start.  Little things like this make a difference between a win, loss, or tie.

This happened a LOT yesterday. Lawson completely bullied Peters.

For those of you worrying about us not making big changes, getting blown out in prime time games is often a way to do it.

The blowout probability for Seattle is high. Too many high-profile loses leads to change.

They should change the san fran game. They're going to destroy us

JJAW. I hear they're leaning on him as is, so why not try leaning on him more?

He actually might make a good TE!  Just work the inside and run a few seam patterns each game

Mailata cannot be much worse than that. Put him in and let him learn.

I don't know about that.  When he is on the outside, he just mirrors the CB to know which route he has to run.  If you put him in the slot, there will be times when he won't have anyone up on him so he will have no idea what route to run.

I don’t understand the JJAW bashing going on in here. We are undefeated ever since the gameplan has been to lean on him.

Run the ball? Give the ball to our best playmaker? That doesn’t even make sense, did you even watch the game yesterday?

Not to be a smart arse, cause normally I would claim I am being one.  But Goedert isn't going to be hurt forever.  This season is lost.  You move on and build for the future.  Not make decisions based on some crazy notion that this team can compete in 2020.  So to answer your question, RR and some other body until Goedert is ready.  Maybe then they will finally move on from the f-ing 12 personnel, that is NOT WORKING!

I'm not opposed nor am I clamoring for trades.  Ertz is obviously tradeable, unlike most of our roster, so i understand why he is spoken about.  Moving away from 12 P, moving away from anything Doug likes to do would be refreshing.  And getting RR more reps is something every Eagle fan can get behind.  He is awesome.

In regards to Ward..

He absolutely deserves a spot on the team. Even if we can upgrade the slot, he deserves a spot on this team.

By no means is he an elite receiver, but if you take his numbers over the 10 games he's played in (5 starts) and calculate it over an entire season, he's around 600 yards and 3 TDs. Sure it could be upgraded, but he's also a decent option to have on the roster moving forward.

who cares?

Gonna win 5 games with em, probably win 3 games with out them

More of a question than a reason not to trade

Gotcha

Lurie will just call AR and asked him what to do.

Human Resources has an H in it. sir. Sir? SIR!!

Malik Jackson crushing that Macaulay Culkin lookin ma fugga has definitely been my favorite part of the Eagles season so far.

It was going to be a pass but he botched an RPO and fumbled

So that would give Carson confidence?

I don't know the extent of Goedert's injury but if he is out, you give spot duty to Richard Rogers I guess.  There is no reason whatsoever to re-sign Ertz.  He is gonna be super slow in 1-2 years and that contract will be an albatross.  We can get much more for him during the season (near trade deadline) than the off-season, I would imagine.

Agreed.  He is much more valuable as a trade chip now rather than the off season.  He is a contenders dream mid season pick up at TE.

word is you're supposed to be leading a players only meeting. you're late, we're f'd.

Please don't start that BS.  I hate that argument.  I really do.  Does that mean us fans aren't qualified to question anything?  We certainly should be able to recognize changes need to happen right?  I heard that about AR last few seasons.  It's Lurie's job to run the organization and find a replacement for Howie.  It's the GM's job to find a new HC.  It's the HC job to fill out his staff and have the team ready to play.  Sitting on the "who do you suggest would be better" argument is weak and tired.  Do you think posters are going to know all of the future HC candidates?  If you asked that question about Ray Rhodes in 1998 and someone said Andy Reid, you would have made fun of them after you yelled "WHO?".  Now, I am not keen on the idea of moving away from Wentz.  But if he is refusing to listen to coaching, I would bench him.  I would fire Howie....get a real GM...a real football man.  Force DP to get a real OC and give up the play calling and find a new DC.  And give that regime 2021 and 2022.  After that......the rest of them go.

100% spot on.

Step 1 is "admitting you have a problem" and that starts with Lurie coming to the realization that he does not have a real GM.  He has a guy that has made awful decisions, presides over an absolutely worthless personnel department and has gutted the team of talent for the near term.  A total rebuild is needed, and he needs to quickly identify that he doesn't have the people to do that right now, he has to go out and get those people and he needs to cut Howie loose, painful as that would be for him, and let him go ruin another franchise because some moron will give him another shot.

@DEagle7

I'll give you an out on our Reagor bet.  Injuries should cancel a bet.  But TBH at this point.  I wanna see the kid come back and eclipse those numbers so I had something positive to see this year.

That's nice of you but a bet is a bet and I'm fine accepting the loss at this point. I remember us bringing up the increased risk of soft tissue injured with the weird off season so it's not like it wasn't on the radar.

I can't get on board going off on offensive play-calling. Things like this are happening every week. Pederson dials it up perfectly...and Wentz misses a "lay-up"

If Doug stays then I'd like his play calling removed. Don't know how you'd remove Wentz contract

I forgot about Saints. Looks like they've done well but also seems like they rely too much on Thomas. They definitely miss him

It’s impossible. I posted a tweet last night. I’ll post that and the follow up tweet. It’s not happening anytime soon

I hate to say it but I think the Cowturds got another receiver in Cedrick Wilson.  They might have the best receiving core in the NFL.  Annoying!

Here's another sucky thing.  We clearly aren't winning anything this year, most likely next year either.  They finally invested in CB with Slay.  He has a 3 year deal.  His contributions to the team are going to be totally wasted.  He's not going to get a 2nd contract here when he is 31-32 years old and declining.

He's the best player on defense but what good is one good player when the other 6 players in the back 7 suck.
