That may seem negative, but for a Rugby player in his first start, that was pretty impressive.

Spot on analysis bud. Nicely balanced.

Sure it could come across as negative but I think that's necessary. What Mailata achieved on Sunday was really impressive. He handled himself really well, did a solid job and overall I think gave us hope.

But to say that is also too positive and too simplistic. He held his own for the most part but he had struggles. It was far from flawless and greater tests await him.

IDK, I said it a while back that for some reason I have a feeling he wont be hitting the field this year even if he becomes ready. The only reason I see him back is if they lose pretty much every rec on the team. I think they have a sour taste in their mouths and we have seen how the Eagles FO deals with that. They bench a healthy player till they can move on from him. Lito always pops up in my head as a prime example. He wasnt even put on the field as a 4th option his final year here. I can see Alshon getting that treatment.

That’s very possible. However I think the eagles completely ignored the fact Jalen Mills needed over 11 months with just as bad of a Lisfranc injury (granted took a month before having the surgery so still would’ve been 10.5 months). I didn’t think there was remotely a chance he was going to be able to play the first five weeks of the season and if he did it would be a limited snap count until he was back in shape. It was a pipe dream and the Eagles were trying to get him back and rely on him and DeSean Jackson this year. Again this goes back to it was a idiotic plan this off-season to just think alshon and desean were going to be reliable contributors on this team. I get they had money tied up in them but that’s already a sunken cost and they needed to fix even if it meant spending more money at that position

I loved McNabb until this happened.  It was all down here from there.

getting really close to the 3 games missed this year. Before the season Made the over/under at 2.5. I think he gets there cause i don’t see him staying healthy when he does come back.

We already know what will happen. Next game back he will last half a series, next series he's in the tent, series after that on the bike by halftime ruled out.

Kind of feel it was more all downhill from that cardinals nfc title game loss. Not that it was all his fault as the defense didn’t show up for the first half of that game and the offense didn’t show up for the first half of that game

Yup. It’s why I said before the season (I had the conversation I forget who it was with) that they have more talent on the team at WR then they had at the end of last year but that doesn’t mean they’re better. Because I have to rely on two guys who are injury prone and rookies. Anytime you rely on alshon and desean along with rookies there’s a chance this is gonna blow up in your face. Currently it’s blowing up in their face

Wouldn’t it be refreshing if Howie came out and admitted he blew it taking resigning Jeffery off PUP?

I wrote off Jackson and Alshon last year- by week 4. And will never ever expect anything from either. If we get anything it will be a bonus.

yea, the defense as much as we love JJ and Dawk blew that game.  They often came up small in the NFCCGs.

This moment though is when I really soured on Donovan the guy.  His personality started to really irk me and I was just over him.

To be honest that was a full team loss. The defense like you said did not play good in that game. Chris gocong missed a tackle that would have probably won the game for the Eagles if he makes it. However when you only score 6 points in the first half then I have to say the offense didn’t exactly show up ready to go. Defense was as bad as bad could be against fitz but the offense also allowed it to become 24-6 at the half.

For whatever reason the Eagles every time they go into Arizona typically no show for the first half of those games. I know cause I’ve been to every single one of them and it feels like every time in the first half they barely have any points on the board

How much has DeSean made per catch with the Eagles? Like 3 catches for 10 million or something?

1 hour ago, DeathByEagle said:

I still think that decision was made more so if a team called to make a trade due to them losing a key rec to injury. Eagles would want the option open and risked losing a roster spot in case that came as a option.

There was absolutely no chance a team was going to trade for an aging, slow, overpaid wide receiver coming off a serious foot injury.  It was bad roster management no ifs ands or buts about it.  The Eagles continuously show ignorance towards the important of roster flexibility.  They tie their own hands by keeping guys on the active roster who literally can't even dress for games.

Look at them right now.  It's Friday.  They have 2 open roster spots plus Alshon and DJack already ruled out.  I'll put $100 that DJack is out next week too...that would be his 3rd week or short term IR...another misuse of roster space.  They flat out suck at it.

I really don’t blame DeSean as much as I blame the Eagles for the stupidity of trying to bring back a 33-year-old wide receiver and expecting him to stay healthy with recent history had shown you that wasn’t likely to happen.  Additionally they have chances to add other younger speed wide receivers. We talked about John Brown a couple years ago before he signed with the ravens and then again before he sign with the bills. They also could’ve just made the trade to get Robby Anderson in previous seasons before even He went to free agency . They decided to go with a 33-year-old wide receiver who cannot stay healthy Anymore. It was not a smart plan when they made the move. Somewhere @4for4EaglesNest is smiling cause he nailed it when they made that move (also was against it as better options).

Everyone in the world was screaming to watch for Fitz over the middle.

In his second stint with the Eagles he has made $913,157.89 per catch

I don't blame DeSean either. I kind of admire how he did it.

That's so pathetic that all we can do is laugh.

Yup demps and dawk were really atrocious. Yet they came all the way back to lose it cause gocong couldn’t tackle Hightower. What’s funny about that game I was there and I texted my friend  back in Philly at halftime saying the Eagles gonna make a come back to only blow it at the end in typical eagles fashion.

To be honest I thought it was going to be way worse. I didn't realize he has more receptions this year than last year.

What makes it even more pathetic is that they had opportunities to bring in other younger speed wide receivers who are making less money than desean and stay relatively healthy compared to the desean. And yet they still decided to go with the him knowing he’s an injury liability week to week. John brown was available in consecutive offseason and relatively cheap the first time. Robby Anderson was available. Williams was available (he’s also hurt now but productive first season for Oakland and an easy contract to get out of unlike desean). There’s always a reason why a team is willing to just give a player away then you might ask yourself why.

I’m his defense he’s actually played 2 games. Last year it says three but he played 1 and like 3 series.

Didn't he get $15M guaranteed in this contract?  Pretty expensive per TD.

Improved durability....nice!

Yup. Another way to spin it is he received $1,084.375.00 for every game he was listed as O on the injury report.

Money well spent.
