And yet no one else other than maybe Ward has been able to step up when the ball is "forced to them". This is a horse crap argument. Is Fulgham the answer? Who knows, but let's not use the ole "forced to him" argument.

Agreed.  He is getting open and can position himself open.  That's not forcing, that's smart.

Oh right. He's on the PS isn't he? In fact he may have even been cut from the PS but I don't know for sure.

Some thoughts...

-- Start Jordan Mailata at LT for at least the rest of 2020. He jumped into the shark tank and survived; in 2020, he's better than Jason Peters.

-- Travis Fulgham is for real. Does he have character issues or something? That was the most dominant regular season Eagles receiving performance I can recall in years.

-- Cut JJAW. Fulgham is what they hoped in their wet dreams that JJAW would be. JJAW has no purpose on this team.

-- I refuse to believe Nate Gerry and Duke Riley are better than Alex Singleton.

-- The Eagles still need a power RB. One of the biggest needs on the team and the easiest to fix by far. Decent power RBs basically grow on trees in the NFL; find one for F sake.

Agree on all points

Howie basically took Alex Caruso over Lebron James and he still has a job. I put the wrong sandwich in the wrong customers bag at the drive thru when I was 17 and I was fired.

The Eagles need to hold Howie accountable.

That's a bit harsh, unless it was a habit.

Remember that 1 season in Philly when he was trying to get a better contract and he played lights out (for him) and we won the Super Bowl. He's now playing for more money in Vegas.

Positives for the game.

1.) Wentz looking a lot better

2.) Mailata

3.) Sanders

4.) Fulgham

5.) We hung in there with an undefeated team in their home and with a few less bad calls might have won.

My question on Mailata though is he fools gold kinda like Vaitai was when we won the Super Bowl? Is he getting a lot of help that was kinda not noticed by us? @justrelax

He was cut two or so weeks ago. Eagles had an open PS roster spot all week and didn’t bother bringing him back. I think that pretty much tells you what they think of him.

The O is the genesis of the problems, from poor roster construction, to stale scheme to turning over the ball in our own half.  The D have not been great, but an average O would everyone look better.

The talk about Doug looking overwhelmed is correct.  He has himself to blame, to an extent, as he lost veteran coaches and replaced them with lower calibre replacements.  And the FO doled out dumb contracts to injury prone players.  I don't want Howie to have another year because it will be another year of sweet heart contracts and cap hell. Someone else needs to come in and sort that out, before moving the organisation forward.

Didn't he get cut at the same time as Holyfield? Or is Holyfield still around?

I really don’t understand how anyone could come away from the past two weeks and feel anything but optimism for Fulgham.

I know E45 is speed obsessed so that all but eliminates Fulgham as a worthy player here, but he showed the ability to stack a corner and use his body to win downfield vs San Francisco. Against Pittsburgh he beat a variety of coverages and made some tough catches.

In all likelihood, he’s just a depth guy, but that’s OK. Let people dream a bit on him after a really nice performance.

And yet you consistently babble about how we have a "bad" quarterback.

We do.  Even the highest quality wine goes bad if you put it in a toxic situation. And once it’s bad, it’s still bad once you put it back in the right one.

That’s Wentz.

Sure but let's not forget that we are down four starting OL from the group that was supposed to be there once we came thru the draft.  No one can lose 4/5 guys on the OL in that short timespan and be greatly affected.

You mentioned it (I think) but I think he would be a better #3 than Ward. One thing I for sure think is that JJAW needs to be gone if that's what's needed to make room for Travis. Also I'm not sure why a lot of posters suddenly hate Hightower. Did I miss something yesterday?

That’s Wentz.

You're getting into the medicine cabinet at work again aren't you? Wentz played very well yesterday (when he actually had someone else to rely on to be open and catch the ball) Wentz is not bad

Ward/Reagor/Fulgham seems like a promising trio to build around

Such ridiculous stuff on here.  Can he be great?  No idea.  Is he bad?  Of course not.

We are, but the lack of depth is apparent.  We've relied on lower draft picks to be OL backup as we spaffed money on old WRs, etc.  The roster construction has been less than goo

It is?  We had a decent showing yesterday.  Mailata looks like a real NFL LT out there and the rookies did a solid job against that line.  Pryor sucks though.

Sanders looked great on 1 run.  He had 10 carries for 6 yard the rest of the game.  Not sure how much of that is the line but not a very good stat line.

There's not a team in the NFL that has the depth to recover from 4 O line injuries like this one. The Cowpies are down 3 and barely beat the Giants.

There isn't, but we ended up relying on low draft picks UDFAs and have little vet depth.  It's one of a number of areas where we've been forced to patchwork the roster due to bad decisions made overall.  We're fortunate that Stoutland is an excellent OL coach

Again, if that’s your standard for playing very well, you’ve forgotten what it is to have a good QB.

Mailata has more physical tools to work with. Big V got ran over by the bull rush. Mailata is stonewalling rushers with pure strength. Wait until he develpos his technique.

I'm positive there were a ton of other issues trying to employ him. Does he seem employable to you?
