Yup, interesting what the do going forward, dillard obviously can't play RT but does one sit a 1st round pick.??

If anything could trade Lane and put Mailata at RT and Dillard at LT.

Or maybe they just trade dillard next year and eat the pick?

With a full offseason, Dillard could learn the footwork to play on the right.  Just couldn't in one week.

Because of the cap, Lane isn't tradable for a couple more seasons.

Would like to see if he could play LG.  I anticipate that Kelce may retire and we'd put Seumalo at Center.

Hey. Don't be idiots. But especially don't be idiots when there's only 5,000 people and the ticket is hardcoded to your name.

Mailata has to stay at LT.  They've done it, turned Mercury into Gold.  That spot is set.  Don't mess with the alchemy.

wouldn't surprise me to see the o-line next year as

mailata LT

dillard LG

seumalo C

brooks RG

lane RT

Yeah could try dillard at LG not sure he's Stout enough but who knows. Would be a helluva athletic left side.

My goodness his strength is unreal.  That alone is why he has a leg up on Dillard next year.  He is tossing guys that weigh 250+ 5 yards on a single punch.  He finishes plays with a tenacity that we are missing.  Honestly I don't think there is a competition between Mailata and Dillard.

I see what you did there.

This just sounds like an absolutely perfect WR. You can guess who I am talking about.

... is a high kneed, but sudden route runner that adds plenty of flavor in order to sell patterns. Excellent in traffic and also a consistent high point catcher that doesn’t contain a top floor on his elevator when attacking passes vertically. A snatch and tuck wideout who hardly ever bobbles or double catches passes even if in chaotic surroundings. He’s an extremely strong and competitive YAC runner, who isn’t afraid to lower his shoulder and invite contact. ... is highly effective as a perimeter run blocker. He isn’t afraid to mix it up and remain physical with defensive backs. He’s shown to be capable of uprooting or turning them into desired directions in order to clear lanes for ball carriers.

OL depth is too valuable to trade dillard. Let him be the swing tackle at a reasonable price. Mailata could always get hurt

eagles/ravens is on NBC Philly right now for anyone who didnt see it live.

Its 3rd quarter and we are still down 17-0. Mills just got walked back to the locker room. I didnt realize he got hurt too.

I want to see Dillard LT, Mailata RT.  Maybe we have a future there.

Lane is going to miss time next year.  If Mailata is the LT, that means Dillard will be forced into a spot we know he’s uncomfortable with.

but why?  They made the smart move.  Cut a horrible player.  You're telling me there aren't any 1st or 2nd year OG on the street that they could bring in to develop?  Brown is trash.  Just when you think they are wising up and making smart moves they do this.  Not that a PS is going to make or break this team but from a talent standpoint what do they see?

He can’t do the swing in swing tackle.

Mailata has shown to be better why sit him down? It's not like starting dillard gives the teams a head up.

Rumors were they were trying to trade him this off-season,after seeing Mailata and can't imagine there are too many decision makers pushing for dillard other than the bean counter who drafted him☹️

I don't know what they'll do but history shows they wont give up on Dillard just yet

Right? What's Julien Vandervelde doing these days?

I know you and I have thrown around the idea of Dillard at LT and Mailata at RT but the more I watch Mailta...I want him protecting Carsons blind side.

Yup, I wouldn't move him to the right. If it ain't broke don't fix it!

6'5'' 257 and currently 9th DE on TDN's rankings. If you can get this in the 2nd or 3rd round? YES!

This dude has all the tools. He's billed as an athletic freak by the S&C program and based on his role as a rotational defensive end  in 2019, they aren't lying. He's got plenty of room to stack weight onto his frame but he's long, twitchy and plenty flexible — he reminds me some of a slightly bigger version of Kemoko Turay coming out of Rutgers a few years back. His bounce out of his stance is notable and he showcases strong lower half mobility to corner at high speeds and effectiveness to both crash through gaps and duck the inside shoulder to reduce his surface area and create outside pressure. He has awareness of the value of ripping through contact and can dislodge hands sufficiently in tight quarters when he's freed up for gap penetration and charging him with outside contain offers plenty of value considering his ability to flip his hips open and get width off the snap. Sky is the limit here and if he entered the draft, he'd get drafted highly thanks to his tools; even without the polish his game could afford to take him to the next level.

He came back almost immediately and it was never even brought up. Guessing he had a cramp or had to take a poo

Dillard is likely the starter when he's healthy. They aren't going to give up on that 1st rounder that quickly. Look how long it's taken them to let go of other 1st and 2nd rounders

Dillard has shown nothing I mean nothing that suggests he is the LT of the future.  Mailata is doing things on tape that no one could have imagined.  You don't take him off the field at all.  Not one person reporting from camp was sold on Dillard coming in to this year.  He looked OK, still was getting manhandled and pushed back.  He's not strong enough to anchor LT.  Mailata is throwing 6-8 300 lb Calais Campbell around like he's a JV football player....in his 3rd football game ever.

Lane was a top 3 OT, playing RT, in our SB year.  Also, and I don’t care what @justrelax says, Lane eclipsed Peters as a pass protector long before anyone will admit, yet the offense thrived with him at RT.

In this passing league, you want 2 stud OTs.  RT doesn’t need to be limited to an unathletic grinder.

If they still think Dillard can be the lightning quick slick pass protector they hoped for when he was drafted, then Mailata won’t be wasted at RT.  We’d have bookends first the future.

It would be so huge for us if either Dillard or Mailata could be RT.

Both as bookends would be a nice future IMO.
