That leaves 6 slots where you can stash people, since they can't play gameday, it's irrelevant what position they play.

You stash older veterans on the PS these days b/c they're unlikely to be claimed on waivers, practice with the team and can play the week after an injiury.

You can also protect 3 players on the PS if they make it there.

So weigh the odds of being claimed against future value in filling out those last 6 spots, if they think Bernard and Weru are potential starters in 2 years, they'll redshirt them this season and protect them like they did Mailata. Next year deep backups/Sts.

Whereas someone like Wilson isn't worth stashing so they see if he can make it through waivers.

Agreed 100% … with one quibble. Nowadays you can dress 47+1 via PS elevations.

Truly. I cannot imagine under any circumstance being offered generational wealth and saying "i demand more" and yet these guys do it all the time. Nickle and diming over an amount that is probably what the average American makes in 50 years.

Their less fortunate coworkers are out of the league in 3 years after making maybe a measley few million and they're out here trying to become jeff bezos. It's even worse in baseball
