2 hours ago2 hr There’s no way Lurie allows this narrative to continue to spiral out of control and write itself. If the original etiology of this mess was a London doc misdiagnosing this and the Eagles having reduced access to a Philly medical team, the NFL will protect the Eagles.

Might get a 2nd bye though.

Being a winner?Or does that argument only work when you're carried by your teammates rather than your team (allegedly)?Oh I get it now, you're like the RTK for Sirianni. I've been a fan long enough that I should've seen that plot twist coming, my bad.

The only stop to it would be if Hurts speaks about it. It does seem like part of the problem may have been the lack of concern team doctors had when they arrived back in Philly. Maybe they had erroneously relied on the London doctors' report at that point to downplay the potential issue and Hurts got a 2nd opinion. The 2nd opinion doctor, who is probably more qualified in the area, correctly diagnosed the issue and placed him on blood thinners. They initially announced he was going to be out but not on IR which tells me that a doctor saw him and did not put him on blood thinners. It was not announced until this week that he was out for the season. The only reasonable explanation is that there was a change in treatment.
2 hours ago2 hr The underlying weirdness in all of this is that the Eagles were getting ready to wind down their relationship with Hurts. That just got tricky.

I don't even love Sirianni as a coach. I think he's mediocre. However, I am extremely against double standards (in everything, not just in sports), I am patient, and not very emotional when decision-making. This means I will compare things like how people treated Chip Kelly relative to his harm done, how people treated Doug relative to what he did, and compare them against how Sirianni is treated. I know this may be shocking, but some people actually care about things like fairness, and don't automatically assume that they know everything about what happens in the Eagles building. Can you tell me exactly which part of that is unreasonable? Because I literally would not give a crap about Sirianni if people just kept that same energy with other coaches.

1 hour ago1 hr So I spoke with a couple hematologists and vascular guys. They are absolutely convinced the no sleep thing was miscommunication and bad reports and that even quack docs would never recommend that. They are relatively convinced that Hurts had a DVT all along that was not appropriately recognized. Athletes do not miss time with superficial clots and the chances of progressing to PE in an active patient with zero treatment are vanishingly low. With an actual superficial clot, it’s not at all inappropriate to allow him to play. They feel the error was in missing a DVT.

Obviously tons of guys just flew around the world with bruises from cleats. This is not some known danger that the eagles just ignored. Also doesnt seem likely that his cleat bruise turned in to multiple bilateral PEs in a few days right? It had to have been missed. And for all those saying the eagles should lose a draft pick, I think it'll be the London doctors on the hook for this. And possibly the NFL moreso than the eagles. Now the question is, did the cleat really cause any of this? Or is there some underlying condition?

If Lurie decides to move on, Nick will get a chance to prove his CEO style of coaching is effective with another team. Just like Doug did. If he makes the playoffs with that team, great. If not, then that might be it for him. Only time will tell, ya know?

But the right kind of calf injury could cause a DVT. If they are confident he had a significant calf injury, then they can be equally confident there will be no recurring problem. The more wishy washy that calf injury was, the more concerning it would be for an underlying issue. But as it becomes more clear this was a missed DVT (if it becomes more clear), the easier it becomes for the Eagles organization to defend themselves for how they handled it.

I guess we'll get lucky eventually, if that's the case?

55 minutes ago55 min Don't think the Eagles will get some super high draft pick. They are going to win some more games but also there are some terrible teams inn the league. Dolphins, Chargers, Jets, Skins, Titans, Cardinals. Right now I am thinking in the 10-12 range which could change if Payton has to QB. That won't get them a top QB unless they move up.

Like, he's the embodiment of the obnoxious, unlikable Eagles fan, yet these same fans can't stand him 😂. I also just don't get the desire to cast aside another supposed "figurehead" coach for a new one. At some point you have to actually acknowledge that the problem lies with the FO since they're calling all the shots. Sure, Nick has his handful of idiotic decisions each season, but the positive results are there. I think fans have just been spoiled and think it's easy to replace HC's and have instant success. They could very well fire Nick and be stuck in coaching hell.

Not impossible, but starting to think there's a reason they didn't get that with 3 straight bats. And I think part of the reason is it's just way harder to do than people realize. ESPECIALLY if no one hired them before as HC, so you have to make the raw evaluation.
