1 hour ago1 hr He had clots that were undiscovered. They migrated to his lungs to become PE. The pain he felt in his calf was not from the superficial clot, but from the deeper clots which were impacting blood flow and causing pain/swelling in his calf. Before diagnosis people often think it is muscular- cramping/strain, etc. and will try to treat it accordingly. With activity, the pain can become worse and more acute. Once discovered, urgency kicks in.Since age, poor diet, smoking (maybe Hurts is a daily blunt guy?) and inactivity are common causes of DVT, Hurts DVTs are more likely caused by trauma to the calf, a hereditary hypercoagulability condition, or perhaps an underlying heart issue. He will minimally be on blood thinners going forward and if a congenital heart condition, he may be done. Honestly, it's not that complicated, but it is life threatening at the extreme end and certainly life altering no matter what.
1 hour ago1 hr A lot of people in the media made an ass of themselves over the last 24 hours. Catching the hysteria wave and joining the mob over a topic they know absolutely nothing about and making layman assumptions without medical knowledge. And not one of them will say "my bad" to the Eagles and their doctors at any point either. It'll be to just drop it and move on to the next thing.

I don't even love Sirianni as a coach. I think he's mediocre. However, I am extremely against double standards (in everything, not just in sports), I am patient, and not very emotional when decision-making. This means I will compare things like how people treated Chip Kelly relative to his harm done, how people treated Doug relative to what he did, and compare them against how Sirianni is treated. I know this may be shocking, but some people actually care about things like fairness, and don't automatically assume that they know everything about what happens in the Eagles building. Can you tell me exactly which part of that is unreasonable? Because I literally would not give a crap about Sirianni if people just kept that same energy with other coaches.Amazing how 3 new minds all come in and make the offense so similar to what it was last year
40 minutes ago40 min Despite how bad the Turds defense is, it’s difficult to imagine the Eagles putting up more than 21-24 points on anybody right now. There is no excuse for DAL to lose this game, even on the road.
39 minutes ago39 min Story time. Not that it really applies here, but there are some similarities.About 20+ years ago, I woke up in terrible pain. I could barely move my left arm. Just shooting pain through my shoulder. I thought that I might have pulled something, so, being young and stupid, I went to work.I did this four days in a row. It wasn't until the fifth day that I started hearing crackling in my chest, so I told my boss at work. He informed me that I needed to go to the hospital right away and that I could not come back until they cleared me. I was so pissed because I thought it was absolutely nothing at all. Went to the emergency room; they took some X-rays, and then the next thing I knew, I was getting admitted.I had a spontaneous pneumothorax. In other words, one lung partially collapsed. The way they described it was that there was a weak spot on my lung that just burst. I spent a few days in the hospital while it healed, and then I felt just fine. They decided that they did not need to do surgery at the time, but if it happened again, I needed to come in right away.Fast forward 3 months. I was playing football with some friends and got hit hard on my left side. I started to have problems breathing. Went home, took a nap, and woke up with the same pain again in my arm. I went to the hospital, explained what happened, and said that we needed to take a look at it. They took a few X-rays and said there was nothing there and everything was alright. I went home, relieved at the news. The next day I got a call from my doctor, telling me that the hospital messed up and that I should have stayed there. I told him I was feeling just fine and that the rest was the best thing to happen. He then told me that if it happened again, they would need to take care of it.Fast forward another 3 months. I woke up again with the worst pain I had ever had. I could not move my left arm at all, and it felt like someone stabbed me in the chest. I could barely breathe. They then took me in, opened me up, lobbed off the top of my left lung, and I spent the next six months in recovery. Learning how to breathe again was probably the worst part of all of it.Moral of the story. Doctors get things wrong sometimes. Sometimes they do not have the full story when they look at a person. Sometimes a person will not tell the full story at the beginning, which makes it hard to diagnose.I learned a valuable lesson that day. Don't undersell a condition; tell the truth, even if it seems ridiculous to you. That philosophy is how they were able to catch a neurocytoma (benign brain tumor) three years ago, and we were able to have it removed before I got too old and it became too late. The main thing is getting it right before a tragedy happens. They are still human. Granted, I was a young adult at that point and not making $50+ million a year, but it still happens.

37 minutes ago37 min Going from Super Bowl to spectacular shitshow twice in 9 years is incredible. This year’s is a whole new level too.
34 minutes ago34 min The Eagles just played against a guy returning from blood clots in his lung when Taylor Moton returned 4 months after diagnosis. He’d only been off blood thinners a few weeks when he returned. That timeline would have Hurts cleared by early March. Moton said he just needed to avoid contact while working out. Hopefully there’s no reason Hurts can’t be fully ready to go by training camp next season.

Dolphins, Chargers, Jets, Skins, Titans, Cardinals. Right now I am thinking in the 10-12 range which could change if Payton has to QB. That won't get them a top QB unless they move up.You forgot to mention the Eagles are a terrible team. This roster may get gutted and will be fielding a preseason roster, throughout very soon. Think a loss this week will get the wheels moving in Howie's brain to sell and prepare for next season and the future. 5 straight losses. That should do it. Come and make your best offer! Best case I have is 6 wins. But 4-13 has been sounding good to me. Will stick with that.
