AJ Clown is so bad lol. 0 separation

AJ Brown looks straight up cooked. Howie hasn't been on his A game over the last two years but getting a first round pick for him might end up being a flat out steal.

On the surface you would think that would lead to limiting your trade partners in the future, I don’t have any stats to back that line of thought up, just seems shady. At the same time if the acquiring team just walked away from the player they traded for that’s on them entirely. Sounds like Jerry move.

The other way to look at it is a series of opportunity costs and to not get caught in a sunk cost fallacy.

So, for instance, say the eagles traded Woolen to another team for a 3rd rounder. That teams gives up the third because they think that they are a starting CB away from a Super Bowl run. They also know they’ll likely get a 4th or 3rd rounder comp pick in a year, so the real opportunity cost is Woolen in 2026 + a 2028 4th/3rd vs a 2027 3rd rounder.

In this case, the team making the trade has prioritized the current season Super Bowl run. Then they re-asses after the season and walk away from the eagles free agency bid. They still get the comp pick, they still got the 2026 utility of the player and they also got the optionality of tagging Woolen and having the advantage of being his current team.

So I don’t think it would be an issue. It’s a business and GMs aren’t stupid.

And this is all Jalen Hurts fault? We saw those same issues that we saw in the games with Jalen Hurts this year that we have seen now without him. An awful offensive line, nonexistent running game and and very poorly coached offense and design.

Was Jalen Hurts the reason the offense was against nonexistent in the 3rd quarter against the Panthers? He is no longer the common denominator here in your desires to dump on the best QB in franchise history.

Firstly I’m not dumping on Jalen. I’ve actually said on this forum that 1) I’m not completely out on him 2) I’d be okay with seeing Jalen without the clown and 3) that he’s not a bad player.

I just don’t think he’s the long term answer. And I think we have enough evidence of that. The pass offense has been average to below average since 2022. Despite during that time having an elite OL and top WRs and a TE.

No the problems aren’t all on Jalen. The problems are multi faceted. But does that mean he isn’t a part of the problem? No it doesn’t.

Even with how bad Patullo was and a disgruntled Brown, Jalen's passing numbers were actually good last year. He had similar numbers to both Allen and Mahomes but had way less turnovers. Both he and Josh had 25 passing TD's to Mahomes' 22, and Jalen even won the head to head matchups vs both those guys. None of the 3 QB's threw for over 4k yards, as they were all between 3,200-3,600 in yards.

2024 we were a run dominant team, but any time Jalen was asked to throw he did it well. Fans only bring it up as an issue because of AJ's whining and the media asking for it. In 2023 Aj and Smitty got their numbers and the pass game was fine. The issue was the offense carrying an awful defense which made the end of that season a nightmare.

I could not disagree more here. The passing offense was not good last year. It stunk. Sure he won the head to head with both but against Mahomes the defense won the game. Mahomes also had no WRs and missed the latter part of the year. Allen has had to carry that Bills team with no elite WRs for a long time.

2024 we were a dominant run team yes I agree. And yes Jalen did what was asked of him when it was asked. It doesn’t make him an elite thrower. It just means he does what he needed. And to be honest not enough is made of how magical that year was for the run game. Teams stacked the box and still couldn’t stop us which in turn made it easier to throw the ball. And it still wasn’t elite or even really good. Being run dominant didn’t stop Lamar putting up big numbers. It didn’t stop Goff putting up big numbers. It doesn’t stop (and I hate to say this) Purdy putting up numbers.

Hasn’t happened in football, but it has in other sports. A’s did it with Ricky Henderson and the Yankees did it fairly recently with Aroldis Chapman.

I loved the Woolen addition. He’s been fine this year, not great. Howie needs to take care of Q and Cooper…and then maybe absorb and accelerate the hits from his bad contracts this offseason to speed up the rebuild. Not to mention, Philly hasn’t been a fun place to play this year for any first year Eagles.

So I’m not sure it’s particularly likely for the stars to align on Woolen signing back with the Eagles in March.

I still think Wicks isn’t any good…and he may be better than what’s left of AJ Brown.
