Smartest thing the Eagles can do is fully guarantee Hurts final 2 years and just build around that with the planned intention of an eventual extension following what would be planned and anticipated success next year with Hurts and a retooled offensive line.

I get that for sure but if Lane wanted to retire in the summer they could have had Bell or someone else start working and getting comfortable at RT instead of on the fly in week 3 or 4 or whenever he retired.

Honestly, I'm kind of thinking the Eagles will pretty much never have a traditionally accurate QB. I think at this point the Eagles fans have been so mobility conditioned that they can't even process the idea of a QB primarily living with their arm rather than their legs. The closest we've had during my time watching is HoF mode Nick Foles.

Who will actually be active at that point? Smith is likely on IR.... if Barkley can't shake the Hammy, he's on IR. And with the way the OL is playing, McKee is just a matter of time before he's splattered back there. Etc. etc.
