September 4Sep 4 So the Eagles are truly high on EJ Jenkins according to Fowler. We will have to see there. But then that buys Stowers more time here and Ertz is on the backburner for now. Would like to give this new staff the benefit of the doubt on evaluations. The apparent increased depth on the OL has given me some faith that they know exactly what player profiles they are looking for overall.Although, it is a brand new scheme, think this offense starts faster than in previous coaching switches and regimes. Hope they truly do show aggression and don't fall into playing it safe mode. Want this play book opened up from week 1. But then again, with a great defense, I don't expect it to be too open. Just more than last year at minimum.

It’s that he has a lot of frustrating plays where you think, "a better QB would have done this or that thing differently and the game wouldn’t have been so close.”But, Howie is right — Hurts is a winner, and maybe more importantly he’s a clutch player. I’ve never seen a QB in eagles green who I would be so certain would show up for the big game. And at QB, for a team with legitimate Super Bowl aspirations, that’s an invaluable trait! And unfortunately this isn’t a video game where you can create a player, so realistically how many players would I rather have over Hurts? And what would it take to get them?Unless you can get a Payton Manning to Denver or Tom Brady to the Bucs type of situation, there really isn’t a clear way to get an upgrade. Hurts is a good, but flawed, player. But those flaws he has can be overcome. QBs who come up small in big moments are much harder to overcome.I’m not so sure Manning is a good example…he was pretty terrible when it mattered. In the playoffs. Dude is for sure the regular season GOAT and one of the smartest and best to play the game, but he was not the same player in the post season. 1 of his 2 rings he has, Denver won in spite of him.Hurts is a weird one to look at too. He was amazing in the 2 SB runs and absolutely abysmal in every other playoff performance. Hopefully it’s just a cycle…1 and done, SB, 1 and done, SB…etc.

It's odd that they are so high on him and there was no real reports about him during training camp. 37 minutes ago, paco said:Except there is no story on TMZ about that. Stafford winning with the Rams is closer to the mark. HE, with all his busting on Hurts, has never come up with anything better than a metaphorical QB to replace him.Manning broke all regular season records with Denver. He arguably had the best season ever for a QB there. It was so good nobody has come close to the 55 TD mark even though the league passes more nowadays and there's an extra game. He should have been champion if not for the stupid S who couldn't field a last-minute long throw by Flacco.
September 4Sep 4 I like seeing Jordan Davis as captain, looks like a great dude. It's also nice that Smitty regained the C badge after AJ left.

IIRC that year he muffed the first snap of the game giving up a safety, leading to a 43-8 in the SB. That Balt game, the year prior (his first year in Denver)…maybe he shouldn’t have thrown 2 picks?
