Flyers and Eagles with league worst offenses and lots of injuries. It's depressing. Hope the Sixers don't catch the same flu.

Thanks for putting it out there Nostrgaynus!

Anyone here think the Eagles are going to win any of these next 3 games(all division)?

I'm going to have to say no. I think the Giants is a potential win since it's in Philly and Barkley will be back, but this team is so bad right now, they got massively outgained by a mediocre at best Panthers team, the Giants have at least been competitive.

I say 0-3 unless Daniels misses the WSH game.

Minor chance against the Giants, but they won't be a pushover anymore. The other two, no.

Tomlin in 2027?

Nah. Hasn't won a playoff game since 2016. We need an offesive guy who can ensure stability for whoever the QB is going forward.

Even more unrealistically, we should go after a coach whose team has won more games than anyone in the NFL in the last 5 years and has been to 2 Super Bowls and hasn't ever even missed the playoffs!

I’d point out he’s missed the playoffs. Just never had a losing record. Frankly his teams were stuck in purgatory when they didn’t have Big Ben. Good enough to make the playoffs and nowhere close to winning a SB. They were the 9-8 and 10-7 team his last 5 years

How many under center runs did they have?

Not a great endorsement of the offense. He chose unemployment.

Going to be a pebble fight. I’d say rock but neither deserves the rock in the analogy

You're thinking of the wrong coach 🤣

Yeah let's get a coach that has to be propped up by an excellent OC and DC and if he doesn't have that perfect situation every year, then he looks lost and confused and has no solutions of his own. Sounds like an awesome coach!

Yea but next time they won’t see it coming

Absolutely no issue with Lemon. He's just another player they can't figure out how to use because they don't even know what they want to do on offense.

It's obvious at this point that Japen Hurts isn't capable of doing under center play action.

My point is the grass isn't always greener on the other side, and Eagles fans after the SBs are somehow less patient and more unreasonable than ever.

This is what I was saying earlier, the Eagles don’t have a defensive problem except for the fourth quarter. They’re absolutely atrocious in the fourth quarter. Which some of that goes back to the offense is so bad that they get gas. And some of it is also they just can’t make a play when they need too

Something tells me they are telegraphic that it will be a run or a play action but after 6 weeks of watching this team, I can't quite put my finger on why teams never think it may be a drop back pass to beat the inevitable blitz we are getting from that look.

Lurie and Howie wanted the Shanahan offense, so enjoy. What I am curious is how under center would look if they didn't hire an OC who's had 2 years coaching experience in his life.

I said this at the time and I think it's pretty blatantly true now: the idea that this offense was in a DEFCON 1 situation and was entering a pivotal years where jobs could be on the line and careers could be on the line(like Lane's last year possibly and maybe Fangio's) they decided to not only implement a brand new offensive scheme, but hire a dude who's never run an offense before to implement it... it was always an absurd idea. The only reason people bought it is because they had Patullo Derangement Syndrome. The most likely outcome here was that it was going to fail miserably. Their whole OC hiring process was ridiculous from day one and felt like a total panic decision because everyone turned them down situation.

I would also make the point, some of the stuff that’s brought up now with the offense was brought up back in 2024. It’s more of the fact that the offense in 2024 had an elite offensive line, elite rb and enough talent to overwhelm their opponent and overcome it. they got deeper in the playoffs where they finally clicked on all cylinders vs. commanders and passing game took off in the SB.

Today was another day the defense played 70+ snaps not including penalties which there were a ton of. It’s not surprising

I think the Sixers will be OK. Embiid just played 29 minutes in a pre-season game and came out smelling like roses.
