They can put Peters at RG, but instead leaning to play him at LT.  That move signals that they would rather let Herbig to get his snaps and game experience over Mailata.  IMHO, that is not smart.  By all likelihood, Peters is done after this season.  They need the young OLs to take the starting positions next season.  This is time to get them PT and prepare them.  Peters can be the back-up for the rest of the season.  Let the young OL play now.

Dillard is at IR and he is not a factor this season.  If and when he is ready, mix him in the rotation then.

Sproles had the decency to retire.  He was probably getting tired of being humiliated by his nearly comical and predictable inability to remain healthy in the NFL.  Had he not retired, he’d be on our 2020 IR.

Peters will do no such thing.  Don’t be surprised when he’s our starting LT next year.

Well, if he earns all the incentives in his contract this year (Super Bowl, Pro Bowl, All Pro), I say it'll be a no-brainer. Since that doesn't seem likely, I will be surprised.

Peters should be on the bench or worst case at guard if literally everyone else is hurt.  But with this coaching staff, I would not be shocked at all if Mailata was escorted right back to the bench so Peters can limp back onto the field and get abused some more until he gets hurt again.  Same with Jeffery.

They have a weird dependency or addiction to Peters. They need to move on.

Agreed, the guy was done three years ago but Howie keeps bringing him back.

I much rather watch the young guys grow. My prediction is that Peters will get banged up and be out for some reason by the third quarter, I just hope Wentz doesn’t get killed because of their weird addiction to Peters.

Sproles was the same way. It’s like once a guy hits 30 around here they just have to keep him around. Once Dawkins left they seem obsessed to never let that happen again.

Eskin says Lane Johnson’s knee swelled up and he is OUT.

Yeah ... I had heard earlier that he was ruled out. It's good for Lane, though. I know he wants to play and I love that, but he could use the rest plus the bye week to really help some healing happen. I'm also looking forward to seeing Mailata play some RT. It's a great opportunity for him.

Not surprised. Glad Mialata was getting all the work this week.

Dillard is still the LT of the future, until he proves otherwise. Let Mailata get experience elsewhere, where he could be a fixture for years to come if he does well.

Everybody should be hoping for a good showing by JP tonight at LT. The Ravens just lost Stanley for the year and might be in the market for a LT before the trade deadline.

I'd give JP away if I could, but he has his own issues staying healthy, and he hasn't been good when on the field. I don't see anyone making a move for him.

I didn't see anybody giving us a 1st for Bradford, but a desperate team with the season at stake came along.

I completely missed that. Did he come back? My mind is blank and I can't remember.

I mean that is encouraging because we need the depth and earlier this year he looked like he was washed up and done.

It was against randy Gregory and Alton smith for the most part, both have sucked and looked washed up themselves at time this year. But hopefully JO can stop letting Wentz get killed.

I mean how many elite pass rushers is he going to come up against? I suspect not all that many given the schedule. We play some fierce teams but not sure we play all that many top top RDE?

True but I still have my skeptics about him. Speed rushers are going to give him fits and if Lane is ever healthy I'd expect players like Myles Garrett to switch sides and line up over JP.

Oh absolutely. The thing is they now need to game plan to help JP out against speed rushers. But at least if he can hold his own then that's something. And this coming from someone who wanted JP gone (and still do in some ways).
