May 31, 20232 yr Most are grandstanders, and somewhere between a plurality and a slim majority are interested in doing the people's work at least part time. But that's the bar, always has been. When I look at WV, I believe if it wasn't Joe Manchin it would be someone far worst. I have no particular love for Manchin, but having a Democrat from WV is an absolute gift for the party, even if he's a prickly Democrat who believes in such dated constructs as bi-partisanship. And whether or not you or I like him "as a Democrat", he's generally pretty honest about advocating for his state - so yeah his priorities are going to be out of step with many Democrats from major metro areas.

June 1, 20232 yr Comer having to resort to claiming Biden's name in an unverified allegation is some kind of gotcha reveals just how little they have found. It indicates there's been no substantiated evidence of wrongdoing on Biden's part, because if there was the FD-1023 would be at most a footnote. Not to mention, Wray offered to allow the committee to view the contents of the FD-1023s in a secure location to protect the information, and that wasn't good enough. Because Comer isn't trying to get to the truth, he's trying to invent a narrative by flooding the zone with ish. And he doesn't even have that much ish to flood the zone with. Freaking MTG could be rattling off unverified claims about Biden left and right to the FBI and it'd be recorded in FD-1023s.
