April 2, 20242 yr Housing affordability has been a growing issue for decades. The only thing that will fix it is for NIMBYism to be killed, and for entry-level affordable home building to actually be profitable. Too bad suburban homeowners are too busy protecting the charm of their towns to allow "poors" to live nearby. I say that as someone who happily lives where my neighbors are not right on top of me, many of those neighbors being types that fight any new home building tooth and nail. It's not cheap to live here, and they like it that way.
