treating this like its 2020 again. And by continuing to preform all of his presidential duties, I guess that means he did NOT cancel the meeting with Netanyahu?

They are now meeting Thursday.

  • While I disagree with Biden trying to save these idiots from themselves, it just proves what a wonderful human being he is. IMO we should encourage Trumpbots to all give each other Covid so they die o

I think he's taking Frank Biden's statement out of context and he didn't quote the exact quote.

"I'm incredibly proud of my brother. Selfishly, I will have him back to enjoy whatever time we have left."

He could just simply be acknowledging that they are both elderly today. It doesn't necessarily mean Joe is at the very end.

I saw some internet chatter on this earlier.  Here's an article.

https://www.dossier.today/p/exclusive-president-biden-suffered

Exclusive: President Biden suffered an undisclosed medical emergency during his time in Las Vegas, police sources say

It's a long watch, but a great framing of his presidency in historical terms.

Joe sounds rough. I know he's still dealing with Covid, but his drawl is so slow.

Love me some Lawrence O'Donnell. He worked in the Senate for a while and was a writer/producer for The West Wing, so he not only knows the battle lines and how the game is played on Washington, but also how to articulate, contextualize, and dramatize current events. I always thoroughly enjoy his perspective.

Today was senior day at work.... Trust me they all sound like that 😜

I'm only vaguely familiar with him but I hear his name brought up a lot (even recently by Penn Jillette when he did Maher's podcast.) But yeah, I thought it was a good piece and I liked the personal connections he spoke about.

It sounded like he had something in his mouth. Sounded worse, but was actually way more clear/concise in his call with Kamala than most times we've seen him at the podium lately.

Honestly, if it comes out years later in a memoir that he had decided to drop out the week prior, but held off to make announcenment to blunt the impact of the RNC, that would be master class level of politcal gamesmanship. I don't think that's what happened, but would be hilarious if he did.

I don't think he made the decision to drop out until last weekend... But I do believe he was going to decide, one way or the other, in the period after RNC before DNC.

Roll call was scheduled for Aug 1st, so it had to be prior to that. And cutting it too close would risk not having enough time for Harris to build support as the presumptive nominee.

Looks like he could've done it on July 30th and still had plenty of time to build her support.  She works fast.

Gotta admit, I was shocked at how fast everyone rallied behind her. I was half expecting the Dems to F that up far worse than the way it turned out after they pushed Uncle Joe down the stairs.

I for one will miss Joe’s ability to trigger the Trumptards

He didn't go into depth on what led him to the decision but he did mention that he needed to unite his own party. Hopefully it was good enough to pull everyone together to cast their ballot for Harris. Regardless of whether you agreed with his record or not, it's obvious he's a good, decent man, who genuinely wants what's best for this country. Something you'll never be able to say about his opponent.

He'll be dead of whatever is ailing him by November.

And Trump will lose the election for president yet again.
